How I Got Into the Christmas Spirit by Julie Cameron

Several years ago, while I was working with my
manager in Los Angeles for my screenplays, she asked me if I had any that were
holiday themed.

“They’re really looking for holiday movies
right now,” she told me, which wasn’t great news for me at the time. I struggle
mightily with the holidays.

But I didn’t want to lose momentum with my
manager, so I said, “Uhhh… I can put one together.”

Holiday Reading at Romancing The Genres

Hi, I’m Judith Ashley, author
of The Sacred Women’s Circle series, soul nourishing romantic women’s fiction
that honors pagan spiritual practices. My stories show you what life could be
like if you had a place like The Circle where you are unconditionally accepted,
supported and loved. And where, with this support, you do overcome obstacles and
find your happily-ever-after.

Once upon a ti…oops!

Share Photos of Your Heroes! by Sarah Raplee

We've been talking about heroes and superheroes all month, so I thought I'd end by posting photos of some of  my real life heroes and asking you  to post yours on our Facebook Page.

"Super" Heroes

By Courtney Pierce

Superheroes are real, but in my books, they’re not swinging from
spiderwebs, crushing meteors in space, or using laser beams to control the
atmosphere. I leave those kinds of characters to authors who write Young Adult and Fantasy.

My heroes are everyday people who merely overcome adversity to
reach a goal. Sometimes the journey is peppered with a little magical

COEXISTENCE on the Obsidian Rim by SF Romance Author Shree C. Aier

COEXISTENCEPipettes and Plows 1

Science is my jam! I
think it is important to not just say you support science but do something
concrete. I love to make science approachable and I thought sci-fi rom is
a perfect sub-genre to introduce sci-fi to romance readers and romance to
sci-fi readers.

I believe that the
perfect future will be equitable for all genders, ethnicities, and disabilities

Scary Settings for Lights-Out Fright

By Linda Lovely

Halloween is days away, which puts me in mind of all manner
of scary things. While it’s always potentially frightening to find yourself in
the dark, some settings can add extra heebie-jeebies when you’re alone and the
lights dim.

Common advice to authors is “write what you know.” Well, since
I know what settings have the power to scare me, it stands to reason they should

Reading is my Superpower

By Cassandra O'Leary

One of the things I enjoy about blogging for Romancing The Genres is being part of a kind of virtual club of book lovers. If you're anything like me, you have a toppling To Be Read pile, a chock-a-block full Kindle or other ebook reading app, library books on hold and a wall full of books in your home. And you're probably well on your way to completing your Goodreads

Beginning a journey

by M. L. Buchman
(an excerpt from my latest book [it released yesterday], because sometimes you just want to tell a story)

Mid-Life Crisis on Wheels: a bicycle journey around the world

Kicking the Pedal High

March 27th, 1993, shortly after my
thirty-fifth birthday, I kicked my right pedal high and tried not to look too
closely at the small cluster of friends circled about me. Finally, I

The Origin of Superheroes by Sarah Raplee

My husband, Chuck, is much better at finding
things than most people. For example, a few years ago we were attending a
religious study class in a friend’s home. One woman had to leave early. A few
minutes after she left, she came back saying she’d misplaced her car keys.

Without looking up from his workbook, Chuck said, “They’re
on the floor under the bed where we put our coats.”

Sure
