Choosing Fonts And Colors For Your Online Book Covers – From the Just Publishing Advice Blog

I’ve made my own covers, and had pre-mades ranging from $35-85 depending. I’m not a graphic artist, but I tried.

Behind the scenes…Lust in London

I first wrote Lust in London in 2010, after a friend of mine was going on a trip to London. I told him, half-jokingly at the time, that wouldn’t it be fun if he had an adventure if he were over there.

So, I wrote about it in 2010 and released it, and have since gotten it back from its original publisher. It is being ‘tweaked’ right now, but I have a swanky cover for it, courtesy of Winterheart Design.

Look for this to be out by summertime

Rainbow Snippets March 2nd

[image error]Rainbow snippets FB page

March is here! Now…where are the tulips? Rain? Storms? Nope…snow headed our way (a decent accumulation expected too). Oy.  Welcome to March!

What is Rainbow Snippets? It’s a group of LGBT+ authors who post six sentences (or more) from a current WIP, published work or even something they’ve read that they want to rave about. Click on the link below the rainbow to be transported to a place of wonder where you will find tasters of everything from sweet romance, to hot and steamy, to fantasy and sci-fi.

Again this week I’m posting from one of my first books: For the Heart of Phillip.  First written in 2006 and redone into it’s current format in 2010. We pick up after Phillip is teased for bolting from a bee.

Blurb: Get ready for a wild, sexy ride! Follow along 13 arduous, confusing, wonderful years of Phillip’s life as he tries to decide on his love for two men. Phillip is socially awkward, depressed, a big guy for his age, and finds making friends difficult. Luckily, he meets Andy, who is two years younger than he is. They are best friends and together all the time. On a family vacation when he’s 16, Phillip meets Robert and the two form a fledgling relationship. All is great until Phillip comes homes and finds out a secret that Andrew had hidden for years; that he wants to be Phillip’s man and to dump Robert. Hence begins a push and pull, back and forth for years to come as the two fight over the man they love, Phillip. Both men will stop at nothing to keep him. Who will win the heart of Phillip? Come along for this ride and find out!

She
turned away from her cooking and gave him a stern look.

“Phillip!
I told you to get some fresh air!”

The teen tried to
gather himself together, but found it difficult. “I tried to, but I almost got
stung by a bumblebee out there, and that Marla girl was out there with her
friend. I just wasn’t meant to be an outdoor person, Mom. I’m sorry.”

Grandma has a favorite…

Jack is my mom-in-laws only ‘grandchild’, so he’s spoiled rotten! She made him this blanket (and another which I’ll upload a photo of soon). I told him Gramma is sweet on him. He just smiles

A brilliant storyteller…

Is looking for a few good comments to enter giveaways!

Do you love a great story? Your heart pounding, your psyche messed with? Hospitals?

My friend Cheryl Headford (aka Nephy Hart) writes wonderful tales of m/m (and some m/f) fiction. I have known her since 2011 and have always been impressed with her storytelling abilities. I’m always able to go to her and ‘pick her brain’ for ideas and she rattles off about ten at a time!

If you want to check out her works, her site is: https://nephylim-author.blogspot.com

We have a series we wrote together (over 12 books so far) called Upstaged, listed under my ‘series’ tab.

I invite you to check out Cheryl’s site and enter her giveaways

Do you have a finicky kitty?

I added more info about what health issues Jack has had.

Author S. L. Danielson

My cat Jack is the love of my world kitty-wise. He’s cuddly and sweet as pie.

However, like all kitties, he can also be a pain when it comes to his food. God love him, he’s an old man (he’ll be 15 next month). He’s a cranky, finicky old man. (74 in human years)!

My little boy has been through a lot…namely diabetes (and twice daily insulin shots) for over five years now, plus now the almost year-old diagnosis of mega colon (a nasty constipation condition that can be very serious and expensive vet visits for enemas, IV, and monitoring or it could kill him. To that end (no pun intended) he takes a drug called lactulose. Essentially, it is milk sugar. Cats are lactose intolerant and it makes them have diarrhea. In essence, it uses this allergy against the cat to make him do #2.
