Great Blogging is a Conversation

Great advice! I’ve changed up my topics quite a bit so it’s not all about this author’s life

How to Get Your Comment Noticed

The Art of Blogging

How do you get more readers?

While the first (and most obvious) answer is to write quality content, the truth is that networking with other bloggers, especially if they are in the same niche as you, is essential to getting more readers.

And doing all that is as simple as commenting on their blog posts.

In today’s post I’m going to suggest eight tips for leaving comments on blogs that not only get (you) noticed but will compel others to visit your blog.

What makes you angry?

[image error]Photo by Skitterphoto on Pexels.com

Anger. It drives us to do curious things. One moment we’re calm and rational. The next we’re yelling our head off at someone we love. Or worse, we drive it all inside and are angry only at ourselves.

Before I wax too much into the psyche realm, I am curious just what makes us tick, or rather…ticked off.

For me, I have a fairly short fuse. I attribute this to my mom’s side, who had a quick wit and quicker temper. My father is the lucky one with a slow burn to his anger.

So what sets me off? Traffic? Very much…but there’s little I can do about that unless I want to find the graveyard shift somewhere.

Stupidity? Of course.

Missing a deadline in my writing, or having it interrupted when I’m in ‘the zone’.

Not remembering how to do something which I know I knew how to do years ago. (crazy but that’s how I tick).

People not responding to me? In the info age, it’s annoying, but not anger-inducing (anymore).

Mistreatment of my family, definitely a way to piss me off in a hurry.

When I mess up, I’m angry at myself a lot and dwell on the ‘inner chat’…so I make myself angry.

Beyond loud noises, annoyances of everyday life like whiny cats, notifications on my phone (which are silent now), and disturbances of my familiar patterns, not much will set me off tooo fast beyond what I’ve mentioned above.

What sets you off? Comments welcome

How do you celebrate when your book is completed?

[image error]Photo by Rakicevic Nenad on Pexels.com

For most authors out there, finishing a book is one of the most rewarding experiences around.

I recall when I finished my first (published) book; I was euphoric and felt like I could take on the whole world.

These days, I still get a big smile on my face, a thump in my chest, and my nerves are all tingly over the anticipation of showing off my latest baby to the world.

As for celebrations…they vary. I’ve gone out to dinner with my husband (or ordered in as we are both introverts), or bought something that will help me with either creating stories or something for the area in which I write. My favorite games are simulations like The Sims, Pharaoh, Caesar, you get the idea. Music will vary from pop to classical. My best writing music is alternative, especially for angsty characters (which I adore).

How about you? What’s your favorite way to celebrate months or years worth of labor to create your book?

KDP Piracy Victims May Be Eligible for Compensation – by John Doppler…

Piracy hurts us all….

Chris The Story Reading Ape's Blog

on Self Publishing Advice:

In my discussions with authors who have deal with piracy of their books, a recurring theme is the loss of royalties. Authors rarely see the lost royalties stolen by pirates, counterfeiters, and other copyright violators, and most assume the money is securely in the pockets of the thieves.

But there’s an interesting clause tucked away in the Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) Terms and Conditions that can turn the tables on that platform’s pirates:

Question of the Day – No. 362

Great question! We do act like we’re immortal. I’m trying not to do that anymore, to make each day count. As to why…we don’t want to face our mortality.

What Strengthens Your Procrastination?

Tiredness is my main reason these days; but I’m battling back with a schedule and plan of attack

Pointless Overthinking

procrastination Drawing by Adrian Serghie

You surely noticed that sometimes it’s harder to do some things even though you’ve done the a million times before. What has changed? You are pretty much the same and the situation is also pretty much the same, so why procrastination is stronger sometimes?

There are multiple reasons and all of them are related to us. Think about that even though everything seems to be the same, it’s obvious that some things are different, otherwise we would do the things with the same ease every time. So what makes procrastination different?

Our level of tiredness

The more tired we are, the stronger procrastination gets. If you think about it, it does make total sense. If you had to deal with stupid co-workers, rude cashiers and crazy traffic all day long, you wouldn’t be “thrilled” to cook something or to work on that extra project that…
