What makes you angry?
Anger. It drives us to do curious things. One moment we’re calm and rational. The next we’re yelling our head off at someone we love. Or worse, we drive it all inside and are angry only at ourselves.
Before I wax too much into the psyche realm, I am curious just what makes us tick, or rather…ticked off.
For me, I have a fairly short fuse. I attribute this to my mom’s side, who had a quick wit and quicker temper. My father is the lucky one with a slow burn to his anger.
So what sets me off? Traffic? Very much…but there’s little I can do about that unless I want to find the graveyard shift somewhere.
Stupidity? Of course.
Missing a deadline in my writing, or having it interrupted when I’m in ‘the zone’.
Not remembering how to do something which I know I knew how to do years ago. (crazy but that’s how I tick).
People not responding to me? In the info age, it’s annoying, but not anger-inducing (anymore).
Mistreatment of my family, definitely a way to piss me off in a hurry.
When I mess up, I’m angry at myself a lot and dwell on the ‘inner chat’…so I make myself angry.
Beyond loud noises, annoyances of everyday life like whiny cats, notifications on my phone (which are silent now), and disturbances of my familiar patterns, not much will set me off tooo fast beyond what I’ve mentioned above.
