A Pinch of This, A Pinch of That

Lately, I feel as if I’m moving in a million different directions all the time. And I guess I’m feeling that way because I am moving in a million different directions.

Therefore, it’s really no wonder that today’s post is a smattering of what’s been going on/what’s going on/what’s getting ready to go on…

*HEARSE AND BUGGY is officially in readers’ hands now. This can be a real nail-biting time for a writer as we wait to hear what people think. So it was extra nice to see the threefollowing revi...

The Carnival Box

By Lynn Cahoon

Two years ago I sold my first fiction project, a short story titled “I Fell In Love With A Carney.” The story was purchased by True Love, for their July hot issue. A mixture of truth and fiction, I never fell in love with a carnival guy, the story wrote itself.Elizabethsent me a treasure box with a photo of a Ferris wheel to remind me of this first sale.

By that time, Elizabeth, in her alter ego self, had been my mentor/friend for a few years. At first we met over lunch to talk w...

Telling Who With a What

If you could leave one object behind that you think bestsums up who you are, what would it be and why?

By Now, It Might Be a Grudge

I’m at The Stiletto Gang today and talking about the poodle from h-e-double hockey puck (which is the closest I got to swearing when I was ten years old). :)

Neat, Once Again

For the past two years, my office has resides in a little less than half of a basement room. The other seventy percent or so plays home to the family computer and weight/workout equipment. As weights began to move around the room, and hoodies started to take up residence in places they should be, I slowly but surely lost my resolve...

A Heartfelt Thanks

While we enjoy this day off from our normal work routines, let us not forget the men and women who have fought and died for our country. Their sacrifices, and those of their families, have made life better for all of us.

If you’ve served–thank you.

If you’re a family member of one who hasserved–thank you.

A Surprise and a Phobia

Popping in rather quickly today to share two things.

#1) While hiking in the woods with DH this past week, we saw a female moose. At first, I thought it was a wild horse (a BIG wild horse),but, no…it was a moose. In the wild. With no one around except us. It was a very, very cool moment.

Unfortunately, being the point-and-shoot camera owner I am–coupled with the fact I was trying to find it in myviewfinder and snap the picture as quickly as I could–the image I managed to get stinks. But she was...
