The Lesson You Wish They Could Skip
There are few greater joys in life than watching your child succeed. Likewise, there are few greater sorrows in life than seeingyour child hurt as the result ofabroken heart, a shattered dream, orboth at the same time.
So tell me, has anyone ever stomped on a special time in your life? If so, what did you do?

This and That
Bits & Pieces time.
1) What’s the farthest you’ve ever walked?
2) Where do you want to retire?
3) You have a 10 minute speech to give at a high school, what is it about?
4)What word describes you best?
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Passing it Over
Silly question time.
If you could hire someone to do the household chore you hate the most, what chore would that be?

Dreams
Any day now, the Fed Ex man should be showing up at my house with my very first official copy of ASSAULTED PRETZEL (book # 2 in my Amish mysteries). As always, I’m excited to hold this first glimpse in my hand, knowing that soon my readers will get to hold one, too.
This will be the 16th time I’ve had a “first glimpse” at a book I’ve written and that moment never gets old. Two more are already in the hopper behind it (as in, they’ve been turned in and covers are being created by the publisher)...

Imaginary Bits
Now that the dreaded FAFSA and CSS forms for DD#1′s upcoming first year of college are behind me, I find myself dreaming of life on the other side of the debt mountain. You know, the dream house, the dream vacation, the dream car…all the stuff that doesn’t matter an iota in life but is still fun to fantasize about every once in a while…
1) Tell us where your dream house/apartment/bungalow would be located.
2) Describe your favoriteroom in that dream house/apartment/bungalow.
3) Your suitcases ar...
Happy Valentine’s Day
However you spend the day–whether with big people or little people or even just yourself–I hope you have a happy day.
Be good to yourself.
And write a love note. To a spouse, to a parent, to a sibling, to yourself.

Clearing the Room
When I was little, I was deathly afraid of the flying monkey scene in Wizard of Oz. Those guys came on the screen and I was out of there. And still, no matter how fast I moved, they gave me nightmares.
When Dear Daughter # 2 was little, she was afraid of the Oompa Loompas in the Chocolate Factory movie (which she saw during a Dive-In Movie on vacation one summer). I remember her coming out of the pool to cower next to me on the lounge chair. I guess it was something about their strange skin co...

Snow…Still
Kids had a 3-hour delay this morning on account of some icy rain that greeted our day. Fortunately for those of us who still want to get a turn on the sled at some point, we got so much snow on Friday that even a few hours of rain shouldn’t be enough to wash it all away.
So did any of you get snow this weekend? Or did you just watch the northeast from afar, smiling in your more spring-like temps?

Snow We Go
We’re a few hours away from a huge snowstorm according to the weather guys. I haven’t seen a HUGE storm since I was in 4th grade. We got three feet of snow in two days that year. That’s also the year I got frostbite on my toes thanks to all the fun sledding that came with three feet of snow.
So, in honor oftoday’s snow (that won’t beas big as the 77-78 snow storm, at least not where I am) it seems to make sense we do a snowy Bits & Pieces.
1) If you had 5 minutes to play outside in the snow wha...
