Reader Snooping

I’m curious about everyone’s reading habits so, to that end, I’m going to ask a few questions.

1) Do you read (either primarily or exclusively) in one particular genre? If so, what is it?

2) If you tend to jump around (genre-wise), what types of books do you read?

3) Your percentage of reading that is e-book/percentage of reading paper books?

4) How many books do you read at one time?

Meeting Readers

While I adore my career as a writer, there are times when it gets a little lonely. Especially during the actual writing process when the bulk of my “interaction” is with a computer. Fortuantely, I get to correct that every now and again when a book comes out and I’m ableto step away from the computer and meet my readers!!

This weekend, I spent the bulk of my timetraveling for the release of ASSAULTED PRETZEL (book # 2 in my Amish Mysteries), and what a fabulous time I had.

Friday turned into a...

Goodbye Winter

I’m ready for spring. Plain and simple. As a result, today’s Bits & Pieces are strewn together from thoughts of spring.

1) Favorite part of spring?

2) Favorite spring color?

3) Bonnet or no bonnet?

4) Favorite bird?

Take that, Winter!

The Dreaded Middle

Assemble a handful of writers in one room and ask them what’s the hardest part of the book–beginning, middle, end–for them to write and most of them will probably say the middle.

The beginning is when everything is new and fresh and one’senthusiasm for the story is high.

The end is the wrap-up, the final piece in the puzzle, the part where everything comes together in one amazing finale.

But the middle? Well, that’s the part between the “new and fresh” and the “amazingfinale.”As a result, if it’...

The Day After

Yesterday was, indeed, a special day for me.

I don’t know what it was about this particular book, but ASSAULTED PRETZEL’S launch had me extra excited. Maybe some of it was the well wishes here and on my Facebook pages that helped fan the flame that was already flickering when I opened my eyes to start the day. Some of it, too, was hearing from early readers how much they loved the book (and already can’t wait for # 3 ). Then, of course, there were the special surprises sprinkled in–like findin...

The Day Has Come

It’s here!!! It’s really here!!!

ASSAULTED PRETZEL hits shelves and E-readers today!!!

The official blurb on the back of the book goes like this:

Claire Weatherly found the simple life she always wanted when she opened a gift shop in Heavenly, Pennsylvania—a small town in the heart of Amish country. But when murder disrupts her Heavenly home, it’s up to Claire and Detective Jakob Fisher to find the not-so-simple truth.

The quiet town of Heavenly is buzzing with excitement over the latest guests a...

T-Minus One

Tomorrow is the big day–the day ASSAULTED PRETZEL is officially released.

To say I’m excited would be an understatement. I’m sure I’ll celebrate the way I always do (which means a trip to Barnes & Noble just to see it on the “new in fiction” rack display), but I also think I’ll jazz it up a little with a celebratory treat this time, too. :)

And if you could all help me spread the word about the series and this book, I’d be grateful!

In the meantime, how do you like to celebrate a special accompli...

Loyal and True

I’m feeling a pet-related Bits & Pieces today…

1) What was your very first pet? Name? Favorite memory?

2) Do you have a pet now? If so, what and tell us its funniest quirk/habit.

3) Did you ever win a goldfish at a carnival or circus as a kid? What did you name it? How long before it went belly-up?

Please Stand By

Hi! I haven’t forgotten all of you, I’ve just been experiencing a few technical difficulties (translation:I got myself locked out of my own site when I had a temporary brain fog on my passwords).

:)

But I’m back on now and I’ll post again tomorrow!

On the Horizon

Pssst…

One more week until ASSAULTED PRETZEL releases!! :)

In the meantime, what are you reading right now? What’s an upcoming release you’e looking forward to getting your hands on? For me, it would be Harlan Coben’s new book, SIX YEARS (comes out a week after mine, I think).
