Comfort amidst COVID
Bethany and I continually go to the source of all peace. We turn to our faith in God and the love that He has shown to us through Jesus Christ. That faith that we have been granted, continues and always will be where we find comfort in knowing that we are in His hands. Yes, it is easy to find ourselves stressing and worrying about things, there are so many voices/sources telling us...

Goals, Dreams, and Speed Bumps
Towards the second half of last year I set in motion some big dreams and goals for 2020. Come November, I was at full speed, working hard towards what was ahead of me. And then…I broke my elbow. Yes, my one precious elbow… BROKEN! Not part of my plan. But it’s just a speed bump right?! Maybe I needed to slow down for a bit and take care of myself in different ways. This is easily the worst...

Life is more BEAUTIFUL when we are PRESENT!
I want them to see my eyes and I want to hear every word they say and see the sweet, silly things they do! As I’ve worked towards being more present and setting more boundaries with my phone, work, tv, and the many other distractions life throws my way, I have realized it is a huge challenge, an uphill climb most of the time. In order to live differently, to push away distractions...

Taco Bar Night + Taco Seasoning Mix
In fact, as I’m writing this, we just did a taco bar dinner last night. What I do with my family and friends Taco Bar parties is have everyone volunteer to bring something they like or have on hand. We usually coordinate with a group text, and it’s fun to see what people bring. We like to have lots of lettuce, because some people like to make taco salads instead of using tortillas. I

Be Still
Being still can be hard. We aren’t used to being still. We are used to making things happen and being in control. We are used to action, not stillness. Being still requires us to surrender control. What does it mean to be still? Stillness can look like waiting, trusting, listening, living with patience, pausing, breathing, or resting. Stillness allows us be honest, to grow, and to re-energize!

Taking Shape
Expanded mobilities, ever growing vocabularies, and nonstop curiosities means parenting has entered next level arenas. Gone are the days of simply nurturing and protecting their growing bodies, now we have the development of their minds and characters to throw into the parenting-task-mix. A big responsibility? You got that right! Adam and I want to instill so much into our boys.

Practice Makes Present
Being present is a topic that is heavy on my heart – it is the first topic of my Unstoppable Year course, and we’ve talked about it a couple times recently in Meet Kate and Flipping FOMO . Here is a little more encouragement for you regarding being more present in your own life. Like most good and important things, being present takes practice and discipline. If you feel distracted in this...

Bethany’s One-Pan Quinoa Bowl
The nice thing about this base bowl, is that you can make variations depending on what you’re in the mood for. Like if Mexican is sounding good, use Mexican spices. Or you can just go plain, you don’t even need spices and it will be delicious as is. Main Ingredients: 1-2 Tbsp Avocado oil or Grass-Fed Butter 2-3 cups Cooked Quinoa 1 sm-med Onion, chopped 1 Zucchini, chopped 1 Red Bell...

God’s Unending Love
These verses in Romans are packed with so much goodness that they deserve a solid slow look. As I read over them, I am struck by the awesomeness of God’s design; His plan, that regardless of what comes our way, what we experience, what we lose or gain, Christ made sure that we would not be separated from Him. Even in the moments when we know we’ve failed, fallen short, or taken a misstep...

What is your WHY?
Why is such an important question to ask yourself. Why do I make the choices I make? Why am I motivated to do something, or not do something? Whether it is a big long term goal, or a seemingly small choice in regular daily life…what’s YOUR why? WHY can be applied to any area… a relationship, a job, a project, a goal, a boundary, an adventure. My hubby Adam recently shared in his post Who Has Time...
