Choosing Resiliency
I like to work out with extra large rubber bands. I often attach the rubber band to a bar and wrap it around my hips to add resistance to my exercises. It makes my workout so much harder! Sometimes I run sprints with it around my hips, do jumping squats, or work on lunges. Here’s an example: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bethany Hamilton (@bethanyhamilton) Well, one day the rubber...

We love to prioritize beets in our diet because they’re a great source of vitamins and minerals. This recipe is also packed with carrots and celery so you can meet your veggie quota for the day. Getting Back on the Board: Overcoming Fear
I get asked these questions all the time! Yes, I guess getting back in the water was a little scary. I did have a little bit of a fear of sharks; I’d be lying if I said I didn’t. My experience getting back in the water taught me so much about how to face fears with strength and confidence, even in the scary moments. Here are some tips to help you “get back on your board”, so to speak...

Hubby Blog: 9th Anniversary Edition!
I’m not asking for any high fives, but you all know how life can get swamped with “to-do” lists, work, children activities, surf excursions, etc. Then all the sudden, BAM! 9 years went by! It’s craziness! Thankfully, we still feel “freshly” married and young in many ways. But I can’t help but already hear that voice in my head saying, “don’t let these years slip by, cherish every moment..

Happy House Cookies
I call these the Happy House Cookies because our whole house is stoked on them! They have a great chewy texture and taste AMAZING. I’ll let you in on my secret ingredient. It’s Primal Kitchen Chocolate Coconut Collagen Fuel! I love adding this because it gives the cookies an added protein boost (to balance out the sugar and chocolate haha) and so I don’t feel as bad about eating them.
Choosing an Uplifting Mindset
I can get caught in negative thought patterns or mind battles. These thoughts often aren’t honoring to myself, to God or to others. Know what I mean? Our mind is so powerful and complex! If we are thinking negative thoughts, we will struggle in so many ways – relationally, emotionally and physically. God knows this, of course, and that’s why the Bible has a lot to say about keeping our minds...

How Do We Change Negative Thought Patterns?
According to Maeve Ronan, author of the popular book for teens, “It’s the Depression for Me”, that voice is more important than you may realize. “How you talk to yourself really does matter. Your brain will believe what you say. So, you have to be mindful about what you are saying to yourself.” I welcomed Maeve to my ‘Ohana Mother Daughter Experience to talk with us about anxiety and depression.
