Watermelon Slushy Recipe
This is one of my new favorite recipes and I made it accidentally! Haha I had thrown some watermelon in the freezer to get it extra cold for the beach and then I forgot it so it fully froze. I didn’t think defrosted watermelon would be good so I threw it into the blender later on and made a slushy. It was awesome! And the best part? It literally took me 5 minutes to make! The boys loved it...

Our Favorite Go-To Family Meals
In the midst of the craziness, I’m always aiming to feed my family wholesome, nourishing food without any extra gross ingredients. My goal is to have a balance of wholesome, not-so-processed foods, but still have super yummy, flavorful food that pleases the family. I’m talking easy, healthy and, of course, tasty! Here’s what my family and I like to eat on a typical day: I wake up with the children...

A Fresh Perspective On Body Image
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:13-14 (ESV) One of the most frustrating things about insecurities with body image is that it blinds our eyes to the beauty that God has lovingly bestowed upon us! Often times, and I’m speaking for...

3 Tips for Better Sleep
I know a lot of people out there struggle with sleep and I totally relate! My sleep was awful a couple years ago and I went on a journey to fix it. I’ve been coached a lot on this by different experts and so I’d like to share what I’ve learned along the way and what has helped me. I always have a snack right before bed that includes protein and glucose. Honey milk is one of my favorites.

Using Technology to Help, Not to Hurt
On one hand, I’m incredibly thankful to be able to connect with friends and family around the world. I love being able to watch a good movie or find inspiration and encouragement online. But on the other hand, there are dangers to our growing use and dependency on technology. Our consumption of all things screens can have a negative effect on our minds, bodies, and spirits. Social media is at the...

Soak It Up
I am learning that there is no perfect season or life stage. Everything has beauty and pain, pros and cons, joys and trials. In every difficult season, there is still some small bright spot to be found. In every joyful season, there is often some sort of hardship. I believe God is with us in each situation, orchestrating our lives to lean on Him and His word can be our strength and hope.

Cultural Norms vs. True Health
I love living a healthy lifestyle. Growing up in Hawaii, I went to the beach all the time to surf and play in the waves. Staying active and taking care of my body allowed me to pursue my dream of becoming a professional athlete. I learned early on that I felt so much more strong and confident when I was intentional about how I took care of myself. And what I eat is one of the most important...

Let’s Talk Confidence
One of my simple tips to help with this is to change how you carry yourself. Start noticing your posture and how you hold yourself as you go about your day. Carry yourself with strength and beauty! People are more drawn to those who carry themselves confidently. I think when we carry ourselves with good posture, we are so much more inviting to others. We are less welcoming when our shoulders are...

Do I Have What It Takes?
It’s SO easy to compare ourselves to others and feel like we are not doing enough. I think the temptation to feel this way can affect us no matter what age or season we are in. Comparison is a dark cycle that can lead to self-doubt and even tear down our self worth. But Scripture makes it clear that we don’t have to feel that way! In fact, in Psalm 139, God says that we are all fearfully and...

Hubby Blog: Snakes in the Grass
These are the childhood memories I cherish to this day. Sure it’s just a field, like any other field in Kansas, with a little cattle pond in the middle. But it is experiences that shape our childhood and help define a father/son relationship. My heart longs to tromp in that field again: “Grampa’s Farm”. While Bethany and I were courting, we actually visited my parents in Kansas and drove over to...
