Hot and sticky!

Yes hot and sticky refers to me - I madly did a boxercise work out in the humid heat of the day and thought I was going to melt into a puddle like the wicked witch in the Wizard of Oz!

How much work I will get done this week is debateable as my little Ruby has chicken pox. She is doing extremely well with them though, we've only had one night of temperature and most of the spots have crusted over already. I can't imagine how itchy and uncomfortable she must be in this mini heatwave though...

Fab response!

Hello everyone - I have climbed out of t he pit of despair I was nestling in earlier in the week thanks to some lovely responses from you all. Thank you to everyone who made a comment about book covers in the last post. If you missed it I asked what people thought about book covers, whether they liked drawings or photos or both. Would still love to hear what people think.

I have had three people reading Knowing Me Knowing You this week, two have finished already and have only had good things t...

Misery guts

Yes I am a misery guts today so I shouldn't really be blogging I should be slumped on the sofa with a cup of tea and yesterday's episode of Neighbours. But that isn't Mandy Baggot, Mandy Baggot laughs in the face of stress and complications and gets on with things - so lets have a blog!!

So, book covers. I am investing in a professional illustrator for Strings Attached which I am hoping now to bring out before Christmas! That's if I'm not snapped up by an agent and large publishing house...

Party mayhem!

Yes everyone tomorrow I will have 8 under 8s and two teenagers in the house for my eldest daughter's 6th birthday party. Last year we did the whole disco thing at the local village hall and  this year it is party games and dancing and hopefully a bit of swimming if the rain holds off. Mr Big has spent all week preparing the ground for the 12ft swimming pool we bought so we had better be able to use it. It also has a heater etc. and I have visions of me and Mr Big basking in it when the...

Rejections!

Hello everyone, today I would like to get your opinion on agent rejections and what they really mean? This week I have had two. One was really nice, said there was much to admire about my work but they wouldn't be taking me on and the other was a bit of a horror, the usual stuff about not feeling sufficiently enthusiastic about the piece and the rest included spelling mistakes. After I'd seen that I couldn't help wonder whether full attention had been paid to my submission or not. What do...

RNA extra excitement!

Today's exciting news is that I have binned the idea of getting on a 6am train to Newport for the RNA conference on the Saturday and have instead booked dinner and B&B for the Friday night too! Whoop whoop!! So I will have two evenings to meet all my lovely author friends from Twitter and Facebook. I am starting to get very excited now because it isn't long to go. And I have a ten minute slot with esteemed editor/author and absolute guru Jane Holland at the conference. I'm not sure what she i...

Back in the UK

Hi everyone!! I had a FAB time in Majorca which included plenty of alcohol (rum and coke and Sangria mainly), too much food and lots of karaoke! Yes, I finally did it, I performed Ice Ice Baby on karaoke and as well as lots of cheering and excitement I also had dancers!! Hello to all the lovely ladies from Scotland I met at The Jaggy Thistle!! Mr Big and I also went on a brilliant boat trip - 2 hour cruise up the coast and back (tickets from Captain Rubio) with a rather hot Freddie Prinze...

Last blog of the week!

Morning all! I know its only Wednesday but this is my last blog of the week as I am off to Majorca on an 8am flight tomorrow! Excitement is creeping in, I still haven't finished packing (which is very unlike me) and I have singing tonight!

If anyone missed Linn Halton's interview on the Dresser After Dark radio show about loveahappyending.com then pop over to the website and the link to listen is on there. Linn did us proud talking about all the site has to offer and remember if you want to...

Soggy!

Another day of rain and its only making me look forward to my three nights in Majorca even more! Yes early on Thursday morning Mr Big and I are jetting off to the sun for three nights without children. I do love my girls but parents will understand that three nights of being yourself rather than Mummy on 24 hour duty with food and wet wipes will feel like at least a week!! We plan to do some sun basking, boat riding, karaoke singing and sangria drinking - lots to squeeze in there will be no t...
