What makes a hero?

 Probably a combination of all these things and more. That's why they only exist in fantasy romance novels. In any case we can dream can'r we?

 Do we want out heroes to have to deal with helping us make the kids' lunches, or changing diapers? No. In rela life I want a man who will be may partner in all things, but in fantasy...even I don't want to deal with all that. GRIN



So here's where we can be anything and do anything. I can be a goddess or a succubus, a fairy or a witch. Hmm, it's rich having an endless supply of imagination.

Eliza's Hot Male Monday

[image error] Eliza March is busy with werewolves and shifters and vampires. 

All paranormal situations are filling my head with all sorts of sexy alpha creatures with golden, red or silver eyes. I'm totally enthralled with a couple of cougars, one desperate jaguar, a vampire bordering on a demonic edge, men with broad shoulders, narrow waists, and big...hands. The stories keep getting hotter and more romantic as I've gotten into them.

I'll tell you a little about my cast of characters in EMBRACE THE HEAT. [image error] Outside New Orleans, on an old estate near the bayou, is a compound of supernatural beings, unknown to the outside world, living and working to blend in with the mortals. They live by their old rules and are governed by an even older heirarchy.

Jackson Whelon Xenos is the first born vampire in over a thousand years and his mother was a wolf-shifter. His father is the long lived ancient Greek vampire, Nicolai Xenos who went to ground to keep from going mad when Jackson's mother died.  There are many in the Lore who would love to know Nicolai's secrets, but he's only shared some of them with the vampire he made three hundred years ago, Dylan MacDonald, his son Jackson's vampire mentor. When Nicolai went to ground Dylan was left with the fifteen-year-old to raise, the vampire council to run, and the wolf pack to deal with until Jackson reaches his majority at thirty in two more years. 

Cailin Donovan is a human psychic working with the FBI Special Units division. Her undetermined abilities only begin manifesting when she and Dylan fall in love. But life gets complicated when she meets Jackson for the first time, and his inner wolf imprints on her. How can she be a life mate to both men? The wolf in Jackson will share her with Dylan, but both men's vampire traits won't let them.  



The answer to their problem must be in the ancient scrolls buried with Nicolai. The location of the tomb is known only to one woman, Dylan's old mistress. Can Cailin let him go, knowing the hold the woman has over him? Can Dylan leave her knowing Jackson and Cailin won't be able to fight their attraction once he's gone?



That's a brief synopsis of one of the three books I'm working on at the moment. I'll tell you about one of the others next week. So what do you think?

Hot Male Monday - LOTHAIRE and Vampires and Werewolves

[image error] I bet you've gotten the drift. I'm heavily invested in this topic since I'm working on a huge project involving vampires and weres...a few jaguar shifters and by the time I'm finished, who knows what? It never seems to get old based on what you read or see in movies or on TV, and I'm really enjoying being immersed in my fantasy world. Yes, I'm sitting here at the keyboard with a big grin on my face listening to my music and imagining a few adventurous moments and a hell of a lot of hot steamy ones with some hunky immortals.

In case you missed my Facebook page this weekend, I stopped by Kresley Cole's book signing in Brandon. She  arrived first class in a bus wrapped with her book cover for LOTHAIRE... totally cool - incredibly hot! And she brought him with her. Here's my friend, fellow vampire author, Sharron Riddle (Julianna Sage) and the cover model. My other friend, romantic suspense author, Lorelei Confer was good sport to tag along even if paranormal isn't her schtick. Kresley used to write some very very nice historicals. Anyway, LOTHAIRE was a great sport and we got so carried away, we forgot to take Kresley's picture... (Forgive me, Kresley!)  [image error] Now who wouldn't want to attend a book signing with the hottest vampire from her Immortals After Dark series? It was great fun. Kresley has always been one of my favorite authors, and when I was looking for an RWA chapter to join, the fact she was a member of TARA clinched my decision. It's wonderful seeing her success...keep the IAD rolling!

I'm savoring holding the book at the moment. Since I'm behind on my own writing, I haven't started it yet. It's not easy holding back. I'm teasing myself...okay, okay I promise I'll give you my brief review next week.

Hot Male Monday -Can a Vampire Get a Tattoo?

[image error] If the author is making up the rules of the book as the story is written, can a vampire get a tattoo after being turned. I'm familiar with the process in The Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward; salt poured over the new inscriptions scarred, making the tattoo resistent to healing. The mark was permanent on the vampire's skin. Are there any other situations that can permanently  damage a vampire that you're familiar with?  [image error]
