Jennifer Jakes, Guest Author talks to Eliza March about her new release...

Let's all welcome Jennifer Jakes to my blog today. . .

HOLIDAY MOVIES

I don't know about you, but I think watching holiday movies throughout the month of December is one of my favorite things to do. Yes, Romance (you know it!) but the comedies too.

I hope all of you are ready to play reindeer games, because today I'm going to give you a one line plot clue, and you have to guess the movie.

I'll give away an e-copy of my latest release, TWICE IN A LIFETIME, to a lucky winner. J

OK, here we go. Some maybe Hallmark or Lifetime movies while some are go-to-the-theater movies.

 1.  Woman sends solider a Christmas card which draws him to her family home.

 2.  Man tries to make the perfect Christmas despite the arrival of the in-laws including a disgusting cousin in a RV.

 3.  An angel gives a man a chance to see what lift would have been like if he'd never been born.

 4.  A boy picks an ugly tree which disappoints his friends.

 5.  A man learns that people are more important than money.

 6.  A boy wishes for a BB gun for Christmas.

 7.  Set on Christmas Eve aboard a Magical Train.

 8.  The daughter of Santa Claus must leave her high-powered job/life to fill in for her father when he has a heart attack and can't deliver the gifts.

 9.  A divorced dad becomes Santa after knocking the real one off his roof.

10.Three days before Christmas, Santa must go to California to rescue a young, run away reindeer.

So what do you think? How many can you name? And please feel free to tell me your favorite Holiday Movie!

Happy Holidays, everyoneJ

TWICE IN A LIFETIME

by Jennifer Jakes

BLURB:  Be Careful What You Wish For. . .

No-nonsense stuntwoman Isabella Douglas will do anything to stop an unwanted divorce and reclaim the happy life she had, even allow her old friend to concoct a magical spell to turn back time. But when the spell goes awry, Izzy finds herself trapped aboard a 1768 Caribbean pirate ship with a captain who's a dead ringer for her sexy as sin husband, Ian. Convinced he's playing a cruel joke, she's furious – until she realizes he doesn't know her or believe they're married.

Captain Ian Douglas does not have time to deal with an insane woman who claims to be his wife; he has to save his kidnapped sister. But as Izzy haunts his dreams and fills him with erotic memories he can't explain, he's forced to admit he feels more than lust.

Trapped in a vicious cycle of past mirroring present, Izzy knows they only have days to find Ian's sister and prevent disaster from striking a second time. If she doesn't, their marriage will be destroyed again – along with the man she loves.

EXCERPT: TWICE IN A LIFETIME

Her fingers threaded in his thick hair as she traced his mouth with the tip of her tongue. "Kiss me."  He hesitated, then groaned and covered her lips in a breath stealing kiss. Hot, wet, silky. Her nipples hardened, ached for his touch, the tug of his fingers, the pull of his mouth."Touch me." She pressed a kiss to his throat, then licked his collarbone. "I need your hands on me." He grunted and slid his hands down her back. Rough palms gripped her cheeks, grinding her against his erection. His gaze burned through her as he moved his thigh between her legs. "Yes. Please." She tilted her hips, rubbing, needing release more than air. "Oh, God, yes." Desire roared through her, the ache building. Building. The orgasm so . . .damned. . .close. A sharp knock sounded at the door. "Captain? The men are ready to go ashore."Ian pulled back and swallowed hard, his expression hungry, his heart thumping against her breast. "Captain?" "Yes. Yes, I'll be right there." His heavy lidded gaze skimmed her body. Possessive. Aroused. Regretful as he set her aside. Her mind crawled to process what was happening while her body was doused with disappointment. "You're still going?" He raked through his hair, then nodded. "We need provisions before sailing for Jamaica. I'll only be a few hours." He stepped to the door, but turned and pinned her with a hard stare. "But when I return . . .""Yes?" Her heart thumped in anticipation of some explicit description of what he would do to her. Oh, but his tongue was naughty in all the right ways.". . . I expect an explanation."Izzy drooped against the door, her thoughts racing even though her legs collapsed. This was going to be the shortest second chance in history.

Hot Male Monday - Dance Like No One is Watching

[image error] Eliza March dances like no one is watching. The idea is one of my favorite concepts. (Sing like no one is listening is another, but because once I start singing I can clear out a room in a heart beat, I try to stick to vocal music expression in private.)

Dancing is another matter. I can handle dance, and I do it with abandon. If my dancing offends someone they can always look elsewhere.

There's nothing like loosing yourself in the rhythm and the beat of music whether it's a waltz or Zydeco.

I guess it's easy to understand why some religions ban it. Dancing can be romantic, beautiful, and graceful, or it can be wild, erotic, and hard -- often sexy, dangerous, perhaps even deadly.

[image error] I think of Riverdance and Lord of the Dance as a form of modern art. Not unlike ballet or modern dance, the multitude of variations of emotions performed in these shows are all a form of an Irish folk dance.

The stories that the dancers tell with their bodies can be as beautifully expressed as any epic poem or great novel.

Dance is a visual and auditory expression, and when done well, can be one of the most exquisite experiences to watch. But for me, an even more enjoyable one to perform. By participating in the dance, one adds the physical to those other elements.

[image error] As a participant, not only can you see it, hear the music, and emerse yourself body and soul in the music, you become one with the music -- winding yourself around the rhythm, losing yourself in the beat.

[image error]  There are no rules about where you can dance -- in the shower, on a hillside -- alone or together -- wet or dry -- fully clothed, partially clad, or downright naked. Dance like no one is watching...

Hot Male Monday - Common Denominator for Sexual Tension

As Eliza March, I'm expected to describe all the elements of romance and erotic scenes. Sometimes I study photos and analyze what it is about them that strikes me first. In these, I'm evaluating them to figure out why the guys seem so much hotter than their partner (even in the M/m, the guy on the bottom just isn't as into it as the guy on top) and besides the obvious...I like guys better, there are the subtleties of body language at play here.
Describing the tension... He's way ahead of her...
What's the common element in all these photos that denotes sexual tension? After studying many pictures, I found something in these. I'm going with the  tension in the guys' arms.
He's ready...
Sure he's lifting but the sexual tension that the scene portrays is reflected in his jaw first, then in the taught rippling of his shoulders and back, and finally with the tension in his forearm and wrist.
Dominating...

Coercing...

The guys are all tense and their partners don't seem quite ready. Anybody notice that?  So what does this matter to me? I choreograph these scenes with words. It's important to have the tension building simultaneously in fiction ... It's my job to get it right. If you want reality, you wouldn't bother reading this stuff.
Getting there...

And one of my all time favorites...probably because I like her participation in the tension...her white knuckled grip on that belt.

Hot Male Monday - Hollywood Vampires

[image error] Mmmm, my TWILIGHT favorite is...

[image error] [image error] Emmet Cullen, played by Kelan Lutz. He's also recently been in Immortals.

Guess what I've been working on...

Right, a vampire book. I need a little modern day vampire inspiration as I headed into the homestretch. So in my internet searches, I stumbled across a few of my most recent favorites.

I saved a few picts for you knowing Monday is on the way. I still have to finished the sensual scenes (sex- for those of you who are asking "sensual?")

[image error] [image error] [image error]

I'm afraid I'll be adding a few inspirational photos next week like this one - the menage looking one from the Vampire Diaries.

As usual I go for the naughty boy, Damon played by Ian Somerhalder is delicious.

It's a kick seeing how the rules are developed for each series.

Things change as needed for the plot. And that works as long as they don't stray too far.

My manuscript has new rules specific to the story, but I also stretch the old rules and add some new ones. The trick is trying to keep them plausible.

We'll see how well I manage that when it's done. [image error] [image error] [image error]
