Snippet Saturday-May I have this dance?

Plain and simple- we're hitting the dance floor today with a scene from Wolf Flight.

~~~
Tad Maxwell's workaholism serves to keep his bush pilot company in the air, and his inner werewolf in check. In the two years since he discovered his heritage, he's resisted the longing to test the power of his wolf side. It would mean compromising his human principals.
Then Missy Leason re-enters his life. Ten years ago, their teenage attraction never went beyond hand-holding. Now their chemistry is off...
Part the first:
Note- July 13. I've closed down the requests to be one of the people getting an ARC of Whirlpool. Books are going out to people on Wednesday, July 14th. Thanks everyone, for offering, and if you're not one of the people receiving a copy, they'll be available at MB&M on August 10, or you can get them from Amazon with a pre-order. Thanks all! Viv
What I love about writing…
There are so many things that I love about writing, I plan to share a few over the summer with you. And here's one that I'll probably mention a few times.
I love the readers.
The emails that pop into the comments box here at the blog, and the ones I get in my email box are truly inspiring to me. They occasionnally make me cry, often blush, and a whole lot of the time, make me grin from ear to ear. Writing has given me a fabulous new way to make friends. One example?
Sullivan McPig.
I mentioned...
Cool Books- Insatiable
I tried making the cover smaller. Really I did.
I'll just wait until everyone is ready to tear their eyes away. Or maybe not, since I think I could stare at him for a long, long time.
Lauren Dane's latest is out today–the third book in the Federation Series, a futuristic world that melds fantastic world building with her usual extraordinarily strong characters.
The first book, Undercover, is one of my all time favorite books by Lauren. It's now got a rival in Insatiable.
The players:
Daniel...
A post about writing
I was going through my (colour coded and ridiculously organized) notes regarding writing and was having so much fun I thought I could share a little bit with you. Whether you think it's as cool as I do, it certainly makes me smile!
First story written:
November 2007 for Nanowrimo. Goal 50K words in one month. I ended up with a 117K YA fantasy, Secrets of Tarneth.
First Romance:
Hidden Away, a 50K word werewolf written in March 2008 that taught me some lessons in world building that I used in...
Snippet Saturday-is this a…date?
Those awkward moments when we're not sure…if this a date, or not? Here's a snippet from a scene that is a date, but not the kind she expected. Soul Deep.
~~~

Waiting for his life partner has been difficult. Convincing her that she's a part of an ancient Atlantis coupling is going to be harder. Luckily, Dylan Finbar's had plenty of time to develop the patience and the persistence to outlast her protests.

Rachel Hart's as mesmerized by the young visiting history professor as the rest of the...

Canada Day 2010

Hello all. It's one of those days that makes me incredibly warm and fluffy inside. No, not fuzzy, I always thought being fuzzy inside was one step away from throwing up. But I digress.

I am very happy I live in Canada. The places I've seen across the nation are varied and all so beautiful. The only place I haven't managed to hit yet is Nunavut, and it's on the bucket list.

From the prairies, to the rainswept northern shores of New Brunswick. The gorgeous heritage buildings in Quebec City and...

Book 2 in the Pacific Passion series, Stormy Seduction,  will be out in 2011. :D I'm hoping to get book three firmed up soon as well, but for now, YEAH!!!! That's #11 with Samhain and my awesomesauce editor Anne Scott. OH! And I had asked for help to find this title back in May, remember? Cheryl Kaye Tardif suggested Seductive Storm, and I used a twist on that YEAH CHERYL!! Thank you!

Just a tiny taste- unedited, so ...

New Release- Fired Up

The release today of Fired Up is special–ot's a co-written story between Celia Kyle and myself, and it's a book that slips into another world that multiple writers are using as a base. Marisa Chereny, Selena Illyria, Celia Kyle and now the two of us together have used our imaginations to visit the town of Strange Hollow. Stop in for a moment:

The Hollow

Strange Hollow is a place for the extraordinary to become ordinary. Odd shifters, powerless witches and vegan vampires feel free to apply. Outcasts...

Cool books- Texas Tangle

So here's an interesting twist– Leah Braemel is a fellow Canadian–and even though she lives out east in Ontario, and I'm nearly dipping my toes in the Pacific, we spend a fair bit of time together online. Thank you LORD for the internet!!

We're both tried and true pantsers–ie  we start writing and see where the story takes us. Well, that is we WERE pantsers until we started chatting and poking and prodding each other, and we're now coming up with new ways to get the stories down on paper for y...
