Wip Wednesday

Woohoo! I'm finished writing Falling, Freestyle. I had a lot of fun with it and then this past weekend when I was camping I planned out the follow up stories to Stormchild. I'm sooo excited to get writing them.

But first on the agenda, Turn It Up. Maxwell and Natasha are turning out to be two very fun people. Little wip snippet for you.

"I'm grabbing us coffee. I'm going to assume you don't want anything to go with it."

She was tempted to give him the middle finger, but that would have taken...

Holiday Inspiration

Many of my books are set in places that I've had the pleasure of visiting. Here's a few pictures from one trip–I drove with my children from Whitehorse, Yukon to the Kenai Penisula in Alaska. We took a detour southward to Valdez, and hopped on a ferry to get to Whittier. A simply amazing part of the world.

Update

I was trying to do an update once a month. Looks like that hasn't happened for a while, so today's the day. There is a whole lot going on, and still more to look forward to, and I'm thrilled by it all. I'm feeling very positive about what's happening and the things I've got planned. Now to put in the time and make everything happen.

Whirlpool : edits are done and I'm just waiting for approval to show you the amazing cover. Falling, Freestyle : almost finished writing (this week I hope, maybe...

WIP snippet

Tomorrow I'm planning on catching up on what's been going on in my writing life, but for today, a snippet from the current WIP, Falling, Freestyle. Rough and unedited. Just for fun.

Kane nodded, his dark hair falling around his face as he looked her over slowly. "Friends, and more. You're right, we can do this."

"You can do me, you mean." The guys laughed. Kane stripped off his shirt and Dara hummed with approval as she admired the chiseled muscles before her. A faint trail of hair began at...

Awesome book- Coyote Home

I didn't get a chance to announce this book when it came out last week, but now I get to squueeee.

Rhian's one of my online buddies who I discovered partly through nanowrimo, partly through homeschooling, partly through Jess Dee. We've spend a lot of time chatting over the computer lines, especially as we started the group International Heat. And even though I'm no longer a part of IH, Rhian is always going to be a dear friend.

I got to read this book when it was just a baby. **cue the...

Weekend games-Surfs Up!!!

Okay, here's a new game I just invented to have some fun. You know how the game of Telephone works? Where one person starts the message and as it gets passed down the line it changes? Well, we're going to try it today, with a twist.

Everyone starts by going to the website I send you. Then you need to pick one 'other place' you can link to from that site. From site 2, you pick a new destination from whoever/wherever you find as a link… you might have to look around a little, but most...

Classics-winners

**pants for breath**

It's been a whirlwind of releases over the past four weeks. We've reached the end and the final winners for this go round–NO, that does not mean I plan on having back to back to back to back releases again! But you know I'll be holding more contests and release celebrations–there are seven books on the coming soon pages (+ two more I haven't added yet. I'm being nice–they aren't out until the summer of 2011 and I've already been accused of being a terrible tease…)

So...

Classics- guest Jamie

Last day of celebrating classics, and I'd like to welcome Jamie DeBree. She's a reader I met via twitter, and she's got a blog at The Variety Pages.

Jamie writes:

It All Started with "Patricia"

The first romance novel I ever read was an inspirational story titled "Patricia" by Grace Livingston Hill. She wrote in the 1930's, so as you might imagine, they are very sweet, innocent romances. My mom introduced me to her books sometime in the '80's when I was a young teen dealing with burgeoning...

Classic- Guest Natasha

When Viv asked for some guest posters to write about their classic book(s), I jumped at the chance! Woohoo!! Post on a Bestsellers blog? RIGHT ON!

But I'm discovering something about myself. I have a habit of jumping into the deep end with no lifejacket.

What on earth was I going to write about?

Then, I had a thought. I actually have two classics. The first is where I discovered my love of books and reading, and the second is how I discovered my love for paranormal books.

One of my only memories ...

Classics- Guest Heather

As we celebrate the release of The Wind & the Sun– here's my next guest: Heather was the winner of the wolfies back in March during my anniversary party. She's an avid reader of paranormal stories, and you can find her on  Twitter and at her blog:

Heather writes:

I have a bit of a confession to make, and it's a big one —I don't read the classics. The great romances on which many of the male characters I read are based on in some way; I've never read the original books though I love watching t...
