Latest IELTS questions from Saudi Arabia – June 2025 (Academic Module)
Thanks to our kind student AR, here are the writing questions from his recent Academic IELTS exam in Saudi Arabia:

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Our generous student, S.H, recently took the IELTS test in Australia and remembered the following Speaking questions:
Speaking test
Part 1 (Interview)
– Do you work or are you a student?
– What would you like to change about your work or study environment?
– Do you enjoy giving gifts to others?
– Do you usually give expensive gifts? Why or why not?
– Have you ever helped someone carry something heavy?
– How do you usually carry heavy items?
– Do you prefer to receive practical gifts or sentimental ones?
– What kind of gifts do people typically give in your culture?
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Describe a time when your vehicle broke down. You should say:
– where you were going
– who you were with
– how long it took to fix the vehicle
and explain how you felt about the experience.
Part 3 (Discussion)
– In your country, do most people prefer public transport or private vehicles? Why?
– What are some disadvantages of using private vehicles in busy cities?
– How can road safety for pedestrians be improved in urban areas?
– Do you think public buses should be given priority on the roads? Why or why not?
– What role does public transport play in reducing traffic congestion?
– How might future technology change the way we travel in cities?

Our generous student, FK, recently took the IELTS test in Peru and remembered the following Speaking questions:

Part 1 (Interview)
– Do you work or are you a student?
– Why did you choose your current field of work or study?
– What do you usually do in your job or course?
– Do you enjoy your daily routine? Why or why not?
– Do you use perfume?
– How often do you wear perfume?
– What kind of scents do you prefer?
– Do you think perfume is important in daily life?
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Describe a friend you had during your childhood. You should say:
– where you met this friend
– how you became friends
– what you used to do together
and explain how you felt about this friend.
Part 3 (Discussion)
– Why are childhood friendships special?
– Do childhood friends always stay in touch when they grow up?
– How do friendships change as people get older?
– Is it easier to make friends as a child or as an adult?
– Do you think online friendships are as meaningful as in-person ones?

– Do you wear glasses or contact lenses?
– What was the latest movie you watched?
– Do you think laughter is important in daily life?
– Do you believe a movie is successful mainly because of its cast?
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Describe a film you enjoyed watching recently. You should say:
– what the film was about
– when and where you watched it
– who you watched it with
and explain why you enjoyed it.
Part 3 (Discussion)
– Why do some people enjoy going to the cinema more than watching films at home?
– Do you think film reviews influence people’s choices?
– Is a strong storyline more important than famous actors?

Our student PR kindly shared the writing questions from her recent IELTS exam in Italy, below:
Writing test
Writing task 1 (a letter)
You recently found out that your friend has had a baby. Write a letter to congratulate her. In your letter:
– congratulate her on the arrival of the baby
– ask what kind of gift she would like
– suggest a time to visit and catch up.
Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Writing task 2 (an essay)
Some people enjoy spending time with their colleagues outside of work, while others prefer to keep their personal and professional lives separate.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

– Where do you live?
– Can you describe your home?
– What is your daily schedule like?
– Why do you think you are so busy these days?
– Do you prefer being busy or having lots of free time? Why?
– What do you usually do in your free time?
– Have you recently made any changes to your routine?
Part 2 (Cue Card)
Describe a website where you can buy or sell second-hand items. You should say:
– what the website is
– how you first heard about it
– whether you bought or sold something through it
and explain whether you would recommend it to others and why.
Part 3 (Discussion)
– Why do people buy second-hand things?
– Are second-hand items as valuable as new ones? Why or why not?
