Paper or Technology?
I find it an interesting topic among family and friends about which book format is preferred for reading. I've found that many people are extremely adamant about their paperbacks, while others simply love their readers such as the Amazon Kindle.I have to be honest. I'm one of those who love a paperback in my hands. There's nothing better than curling up with a good book and not worrying about how long the battery will last. Maybe I'm just a dinosaur and it's my feeble attempt to fight the sys...

"California Boy Frees Himself After Being Chained to Kitchen Table"
The high-profile cases of abducted children who are later discovered murdered and also often raped are splashed across the front pages of our newspapers and serve as the lead stories on our evening news. Each of these horrific events is tragic and makes parents want to hold their own children just a little bit tighter. While I never would compare fiction to real-life tragedy, my personal desire to advocate for the safety of children and to understand the psyche of criminals who harm them is a...

The Unpredictable World of Psychopathic Offenders
Psychopathy is a personality disorder and has been described to have significant social implications. A person who has been diagnosed as a psychopath take what they want, do what they want, violate any social norms, and don't experience the slightest sense of guilt or regret for what they have done.
Psychopaths are responsible for a considerable amount of the serious crimes committed, violence, and social distress to society. One frightening aspect is that not all psychopaths are incarcerated ...

Key Evidence Can Make or Break a Case
Fingerprint evidence is absolutely key in a crime scene investigation, especially homicides and burglaries. It's the most fragile piece of evidence and it can be contaminated easily by environmental conditions and improper handling. After collecting the evidence, then the difficult task of identifying and comparing begins.
The fingerprints must be grouped into one of the three main pattern categories of arch, loop, and whorl for eight different pattern types. Each category has subcategories...

Serial Killers in the Movies
I have written multiple posts about some of my favorite television crime dramas, and wondered how the character I created, Emily Stone, would measure up to other fictional detectives such as those found on programs like Law and Order and The Closer. But, when you want to look at the actual serial killers, and not the men and women whose life's work it is to bring them to justice, the movies have the small screen beat.Who are some of the scariest killers you have ever seen while eating overpri...

"Compulsion" Thrilling Ending
Reviewed By Preennonohoy — July 28, 2010, 10:54 pm
"It is almost as if they were separated at birth as twins and now they have found each other again by a macabre twist of fate."
The twins? Well, they just happen to be serial killers starring in " Compulsion " by Jennifer Chase !
Interestingly these two individuals have very different reasons for killing; however, their reasons are so complementary that, instead of acting separately, as most serial killers do, these two have formed a close relation...

Coming Soon! Here's a Sneak Peek at New Crime Thriller
More than a few years ago, I wrote a screenplay that received some attention. I actually had two productions companies that wanted to produce my script. One was from Canada and the other was from Los Angeles, California, but finances fell through for both companies. Oh well, such as life.
This story was always in the back of my mind, so I waited for a good time to write the novel version. I know this seems a little backwards. Usually movies are adapted from books and not the other way around. ...

Investigation Underway in Murder of California Teen
Earlier this month, I published a blog post questioning whether or not a missing Hispanic teen in California was receiving the same media attention as other young women who had disappeared in recent months and years. At the time of the posting, Norma Lopez had not been heard from in several days. Sadly, a body has since been discovered that has been determined to be that of the seventeen-year-old girl.
Not much is known about the cause of Ms. Lopez's death , only that the identification of her ...
