Poison Gay Wedding Cakes? Perez Hilton in Underwear; James Franco Kissing Gay Man

Poison Gay Wedding Cakes?

I'm starting this post with the fact that everyone who follows me knows I do, and always will, support equality and gay marriage. Most people also know I'm not very political. That should go without saying, however, the way things get turned around these days you clearly have to cover every last fucking track you leave.

The headline reads, Conservative US pundit jokes about poison in wedding cakes for same-sex couples, which is probably one of the most misleading head...

Anti-Gay Message Cake; School Denies Admission to Gay Dads; Patick Stewart Flattered to Be Gay

Anti-Gay Message Cake

Along with the discrimination, hate, and unrest that's been happening with a few so-called good Christian bakers right here in the US who have refused to bake gay wedding cakes, there's now another spin to add to the story of free speech, religious freedom, and really nasty people. And aside from everything else, that seriously is what it comes down to...nasty people who carry pitchforks in the name of religion...the holy ones.

This particular holy one went into a bakery...

Gay Semiotics

Semiotics basically means a study of communication and behavior through elements that might include symbolic references...like the symbolic handkerchief deal in gay culture. I took a grad course once about communication and literature that was so complicated the professor admittedly didn't even get all the time. In this case, however, they're talking about gay subculture in the 1970's, and the distinct ways gay people defined themselves in what really was the first time in gay cu...

Real Life vs Gay Apps; Gay Pornster Johnny Rapid Arrested; Robbie Rogers on FIFA and World Cup Russia

Real Life vs Gay Apps

LGBT news is really dull this month, so I'm bottom feeding right now with this story about if guys acted in real life the way they do in gay apps. This is actually a video and it's pretty self-explanatory, but it does make an important social commentary I think we all deal with these days with the way people represent themselves online as opposed to the way they would behave in real life.

And as digital grids of thirsty queens replace public cruising, it only makes...

Dumping Your F#$k Buddy

These articles always interest me because I've never had to experience something like this first hand. I never had a f#$k buddy, hope I never will have one, and it's interesting to see how others deal with these things.

In this case I'm talking about how to break up with a f#$k buddy. I think we all know what the term FB means by now so I'm not going to explain it. They do it in the article.

Here's rule 1:

RULE #1: Ask yourself: Why am I breaking up with him?
Getting...

Offending Straight Allies

I think I come to this topic from a different POV because I'm so familiar with book circles and places where discussions about feminism, equality, and racism take place. I don't always participate, but I learn a great deal by lurking. Not a day goes by on Twitter where I don't learn something new about rape culture and the way women have been mistreated at the expense of those who come from a place of privilege. So with all that in mind, I found this article to which...

Teen's Transgender Body; Alexander O'Neal and Perez Hilton; Colin Farrell on Same Sex Marriage in Ireland

Teen's Transgender Body

I don't like linking to anything in the Huffington Post because they are known to publish some pieces from authors without compensation. It's perfectly legal. The idea is that if you write something for Huff Po and get it published it will help promote you as a writer. I usually go blank on Huff Po for that reason, entirely. It's not because of the writers, it's because Huff Po can well afford to pay contributors at least something.

In any event, sometimes I come...

Andrew Rannells' Forced Hand Job; Prop 8 Lawyer on SCOTUS Ruling; Stephen Fry and Elliot Spencer Marry;

Andrew Rannells' Forced Hand Job

This is pure clickbait at its best, but the comments and the video are amusing. No one actually grabbed Andrew Rannells by the back of the neck and forced him to perform hand job sex. He's talking about a performance he gave where the character was expected to give a hand job.

The actor who headlined the Broadway revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch last summer shared the challenges he faced when asked to perform his very first onscreen handjob. When he read the...

SCOTUS Ruling Gay Marriage; Drooping Old Penis; Lonely Gay Virgin; Fired For Facebook Announcement

SCOTUS Ruling Gay Marriage

We're waiting once again for a ruling on gay marriage from SCOTUS. As always, it makes all the difference and always defines, in legal terms, what we can expect in the future. This time it's the fight for legalized gay marriage everywhere in the US. There are still 14 states where gay marriage is illegal.

The arguments will take place in April, with a June decision.

Proponents of same-sex marriage said they expect the court to settle the matter once and for all with a...

Romance Genre HEA

I'm not linking to anything now and I'm not offering my opinion. This is just the most basic information for anyone who is interested in what is often a hot button topic...Romance as a distinct genre with guidelines. With that said, if there were lines drawn and I had to choose sides between those who remain true to romance as a distinct genre and those who like to get creative and redefine romance on their terms, I'll draw my proverbial sword and stand with the strict, pure...
