When I say I'm often smacked in the face daily as a gay man with something homophobic, I don't exaggerate. Last night on Twitter I read a tweet by a straight male actor who has made his money and built his fandom playing a gay role on a popular TV series. We, as gay people, gave that to him without asking for anything in return. Yet last night he posted one of the most homophobic things I've ever read, promoting an age old gay stereotype, without even thinking...

Bewitched a Gay Series?
This is an interesting examination of the old TV sitcom, Bewitched, because it talks about how the subtle interpretation of the show could have been compared to living in the closet. It's an interview with an author of a non-fic book, and I actually agree with everything here, and I think that's why Bewitched still has such a huge gay following in reruns fifty years later.
If you watched the "witch" season of American Horror, there were more than a few subtle parodies of...

I'm actually one of those people who think the courts are already overcrowded with frivolous lawsuits and I support any legislation that will reduce this. However, in this particular case I think it's a great example of making a clear point that gay men are tired of being treated like inferiors. They're tired of being the subject of hetero snark...whether it's blatant or passive aggressive. And most of all tired of humiliation in public.

It doesn't happen often, but sometimes when a book of fiction is released there's something in the book that mimics something in real life. In this case, it happened with my Christmas release, Chase of a Christmas Dream, and National Ugly Sweater Day.
I almost edited the excerpt below out of the book because I wasn't sure if it would offend anyone. I don't think of that as self-censorship as much as I think of it as covering the bases. In ot...

One of the things that's always been popular with certain members of the straight community is catching gays in action and shaming them in public. I've seen it happen here in the US a number of times, and it's one more reason to take the shame away from being gay. This, however, goes far beyond that.
This particular article talks about gay men who were arrested in an Egyptian bathhouse and paraded naked in public. They arrested about 30 for "perversion."
