From the Detroit Free Press: Big plays leave OSU, not MSU, with upper hand in East
EAST LANSING – Bombs away. A dream exploded once again Saturday night when Michigan State faced Ohio State, but this time — unlike last year's Big Ten title game — it was the green hopes that turned to vapor. No national title. Likely no conference title. It all came apart on a dark and cold November night in a blur of Ohio State skill players and a flurry of long passes that seemed to ka-boom every time they landed in a Buckeye's mitts.

From the Detroit Free Press: Dr. Football is in – open wide & say, ‘hike!’
Once again, Dr. Football is holding office hours. Your questions, please?
So you’re really going to do this every Friday?
If Johnny Manziel can take a weekly paycheck and not play, so can I.
Dr. Football, has Michigan State vs. Ohio State really replaced Michigan vs. Ohio State?
No, as much as Michigan would like that, the game is still scheduled.
If the Spartans beat the Buckeyes, will they finally jump from No. 8 into the playoff picture?
Actually, the way it’s been going, they’ll win and fall to 10th.

From the Detroit Free Press: Michigan Should Let the 'Bo' Stuff Go
I loved Bo Schembechler. I knew him well. Spent crazy time with him. I even co-wrote his autobiography. For years, I got to feel his wrath, brilliance, passion and affection.
And I am here to say this:
Michigan should stop invoking his name.
As the university begins searching for its next athletic director — and if expectations are to be believed, its next coach — the sentence "he played for Bo" cannot be the deciding factor.
Nor can the phrase "A Michigan Man."

From the Detroit Free Press: Dr. Football Tackles the Latest Hot Topics
This week, we address the Lions, Brady Hoke, Nick Saban, Jameis Winston and more.
Good morning. It's Dr. Football here to answer your pigskin questions. I will hold office hours each week, right here in this rent-free space. First question?
Why are you called "Dr. Football?"
"Johnny Football" was taken.
Why are you starting this midway through the season?
It's a halftime adjustment. Also, I just thought of it.
