Romantic Literary Candles
Delaware-based boutique Wether And Gray creates candles inspired by history, art and culture. Their Literary Candles pay homage to the most beautiful minds in literature. From Edgar Allan Poe to Emily Bronte, each piece uses vegan, non-toxic, food grade, biodegradable wax; while the wicks are coreless for less carbon mushrooming and sooting.
Inspired by the artist, each fragrance represents the author’s essence. Find them in their Etsy shop.
I love the smell of books but a candle? Maybe?
I can get behind this-

Ive made this post before but like representation is so fucking important in all media and I’ll give you a good example through tears because im crying remembering the experience
I’m agender. There are a lot of terms for basically the same thing, the one i liked was agender, but one that sticks out especially is neutrosis. Why? Because my favorite fucking author wrote that in for a character.
I BAWLED when i found a character like me. Bawled! And they don’t even have a huge part but it was so fucking special, so magical, so amazing seeing somebody LIKE ME for the FIRST TIME. I remember their commanding officer defending them against a bunch of fucking assholes and crying. It felt like I WAS BEING DEFENDED, that SOMEBODY was finally defending my identity and actualising who i am. I felt so unreal until that moment and suddenly i was somebody. I was real!
Not everybody knows what thats like and nobody should know what its like to see yourself for the first time but its a reality for so many fucking people and thats so wrong. But just my experience has made a world of difference. I felt like i wasnt alone. Nobody should feel alone. Diversity and representation in media is so fucking important because of us first timers. Because it may be small to you but huge to them. Because minorities need to feel so much bigger than they are. We gotta do better and we gotta do more to make an inclusive media. The only time a room should be full of only straight white men is a KKK meeting in 1865. Do better to show the world! Be like Ari Bach. Help out a first timer like me
Represent us
I hope you realize that by typing the above, you’re giving me something incredibly valuable in return- Because of you I no longer have that depressive voice that all authors must have sometimes, the one that makes them feel like their books are crap that never did any good for anyone. Whenever I feel bad about my work, I can remember what it did for you, and those bad feelings will cease to exist in a snap. Thank you for reminding me who these books are really for :)

I’ll find a way, no matter what you do, to bring her back to me. And the more you defy me, the more it’s gonna hurt.
One of my favorite scenes in the series. I’ve been wanting to draw this for months and finally felt up to tackling it this weekend. (Swapped out her Talley Buffalo Cannon for a cutter rifle cause it’s the only one I had a reference for). Full view for all the little details, yes?
This is the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen. I can’t believe it came from something I wrote, the expression, the pose, the tikaris, and you make me wish I’d written it with the rifle instead of the canon with this. This is a new height even among your character portraits. I want a poster of this badly!
Well done. That’s not enough to say even. Just… Wow.
Amazing.
EDIT- And her hair! God I fucking LOVE this!

I propose a new test for storytelling: the unpleasantness test. Do the women in your show/movie/etc get to look unpleasant (more so than “cute disheveled”)? Do they get to act according to their own agency, possibly including being unpleasant to the male lead? Are they more than a pleasant and nice and always accommodating lamp?
Well, at least I don’t have to worry about this one…
furthermore: are they the villains and/or are they punished for this perceived unpleasantness in any way by the narrative? is this punishment seen as justified?
In my case they’re the heroes (or closest thing to them in the books) and though nearly everyone in the books dies horribly, those that do are certainly not being punished for looking or acting unpleasant. Whether the deaths in question are justified is a matter of much debate among some fans.

Would this include getting to express emotion and/or physical effort in a way that makes their faces temporarily not pretty?
Not sure if you mean the original post or my book and not sure what’s considered pretty but my main character looks like a beast from hell when she’s angry.
And she’s angry a lot.
