haileescomet:

My final drawing for my art class turned out...

haileescomet:

My final drawing for my art class turned out pretty good for how terrible I was when I first started.

Fun fact: this was inspired by Ari Bach’s story Valhalla. They have little robots that are made out of their sternum and the robots live in their chests and they can go in and out through the skin. I’m sure the skin doesn’t open like this in the book, but it’s how I pictured it. The theme for the final drawing was transformation and it was a big moment for Violet to get her tikari so I decided to base my drawing on it.

I had to use a skull from the universities library and I really really wanted to use a walrus skull, but the one that still had tusks wasn’t allowed to be checked out so I went with a Lynx skull instead. It was easier to carry as well.

I really liked drawing this one because it was something I was actually interested in. Our other drawing assignments didn’t have a lot of freedom, but as he let go off and do more of what we wanted it got funner.

There are still a few things I could fix I just didn’t have time before the last day of class. But I still like it for what it is.

Very cool, I’m honored to have inspired it!!! The skin can open very much like that, as I imagined it. More importantly though you captured the feeling of one of my favorite moments very well :)

Just because I’m an “unholy abomination” from “the netherworld” who “eats the flesh of the living” doesn’t mean I deserve to be shot at with a crossbow.

@the-walrus-squad is this veikko?

I think it must have been written by the part of my brain that writes Veikko.

Valhalla Review

contentreading:

Valhalla by Ari Bach is the story of Violet McRae. After her parents are murdered, Violet has to figure out what she’s going to do now. After looking at the normal paths people follow in life, she is approached and recruited by a secret organization.

Valhalla is nearly indescribable. It is horrifying and captivating, exciting and very graphic. It is so much more than anything you could hope for. The characters are so great. They are all unique and captivating. The setting is a fantastic world that is so well built. Valhalla just contains so much to consume. READ THIS BOOK!

*Constructive criticism is welcome*

Thank you for this review!!!

Things I want: Open-World Valhalla game

treekarusblog:

Build your character, choose your backstory, play a short section in which you’re taken to The Ravine, choose your Tikari, train in all the combos of melee and in the weapons of the game, go on missions with your team. And walrus detail. Because nothing with Valhalla is complete without Walruses (Walri?)

If you Fuck Shit Up, you get a visit from the Geki or a permadeath. Or both.

Of course a storyline, what about I have no idea. But you could follow it or hold it off, but once you start following it, you can’t chose missions outside of it, because I personally play like the first three main missions then side quests sidetrack me and it also makes sense. And the world of Valhalla is such that you really can’t ignore problems that are building.

Visit the other bases, interact with characters from the book.

Multiplayer and single-player.

Splitscreen too we need to bring that shit back.

If done properly it could be an incredible game. Valhalla has all the action, lore, and characters to make the best game in years.

I think the fact that I caught a magikarp and a goldeen( aka fish pokemon) in pokemon go just so I could name them Risto and Pytten is great. I love them so much (the pokemon and the book characters)

Some old fella came up to me at work and asked a question only he didn’t quite figure out if he should call me “sir” or “ma’am” by the time he got to the end of his sentence and in a moment of apparent panic ended up saying “captain” instead. Absolutely made my day.

petition to call non binary people captain

This feels oddly familiar…
