Furore over Jacob Zuma penis painting (Brett Murray's The Sear) exposes the ANC's increasingly thin skin. The ruling ANC party, who has more than 65% support and has been in government since 1994 should be big enough to ignore a man with a paintbrush and concentrate on governing? After ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe called for a boycott of City Press, the editor, Ferial Haffajee decided to take down the photo of the painting from the City Press Website as she feared for safety and lives of the newspaper vendors and the violence it may create.
