Path to Peace Your Mind Is Your Business, Spirituality Is Your Mind

We spend most of our waking lives focused on the world around us. All day we look around, giving all of our attention to what we see and hear. We spend our days trying to control our external circumstances, we blame people and our situations for our how we feel, all while neglecting our inner world.

But, it is in fact our inner world that creates our external world. The outer world will always be outside of our control, but the world of our thoughts and emotions is the one place we can actually learn to control. And remarkably, when we master our mind, we become more effective at mastering the world.

In this podcast, I share why we need to spend some more time focused on our inner life, I talk about how we can become free from the mindless whims of our ego, and I share the secret to how we can change the world starting from within.

Please enjoy other episodes where I share meditation techniques, tips and spiritual lessons from around the world for peaceful and stress-free living. Remember to subscribe to stay up-to-date.

Path to Peace 3-Step Process for Ignoring the Negative Opinions of Others

Having the approval and praise of others is a natural human desire. We evolved to depend on each other for our survival, and so maintaining strong social bonds is in our DNA. But too often, people may voice their disapproval who do not have our best interests at heart. Other times, people may be too overcome with fear and worry to approve of people's lifestyles and choices that are different from theirs.

So how can we navigate these uncertain waters? How can we know when to take advice and when to follow our hearts? And how can we do what we feel to be right without letting other people's judgments, criticisms and unhelpful opinions bring us down?

I share my answer to these and other questions in this podcast. I also give my simple 3-step process for how to make big dreams a reality without being affected by the negative opinions of others. Only we can know what's best for ourselves. Other people can only know what's best for them. Here's how we can block out the noise, stay focused on the goal, and achieve great things.

Path to Peace What Does Todd Do When Life Gets Mundane?

No one is immune from life happening — the ebbs and flows, the ups and downs, the exciting and the monotonous. But it is this variety that makes life a beautiful tapestry.

Someone recently asked me what I do when I get sucked into the mundanity of life. So, what tips and tricks can we employ when life gets boring or repetitive? And is it our external situation that needs change, or our internal one? I answer these questions and more in today's podcast.

Path to Peace How to Turn a Bad Day Around

Bad days. We all have them. It's the nature of life. Life is in a constant state of renewal and decay. Bad days can be caused when we face tragedy, or it can be from traffic or spilling our coffee.

So what can we do when life's events don't go according to our plans and wishes? How can we overcome those negative downward spirals of thoughts and emotions? And what can we do to change the way we perceive life's undesirable circumstances so that we can prevent bad days from happening in the first place?

In today's podcast, I answer these questions and more. I talk about how to avoid getting sucked into negative and obsessive thinking. And I discuss ways we can transform our view of the world so that bad days don't bring us down in the first place, and how to turn them into opportunities for growth and deeper peace.

Path to Peace What to Do When You Feel Like You’re Behind in Life

From the moment we're born, our lives are set to a timer. We're supposed to start kindergarten by this age, graduate college by that age, get married, have kids and buy a house by such and such ages. But what are we supposed to do when our life doesn't go to plan?

Life is not a one-size-fits-all, cookie-cutter recipe. As long as we are in a race to the end of our lives, we will miss out on the entire journey.

In today's podcast, I share what we can do when life takes a detour, how we can get back on track, and how we can enjoy the journey of life — twists and turns and all.

Path to Peace What to Do When You Don’t Want to Do Anything

We all can reach a point where we just don't feel like doing anything. But why does this happen? Why do we get to a place when we feel like we need Tony Robbins to walk into our bedroom and start yelling at us to get it together? And if we are not close friends with Tony Robbins, what are we supposed to do about it?

The good news is we don't need Jillian Michaels or Tony Robbins to yell at us. A lack of motivation is not the cause of this feeling, it's the symptom. Motivation is fleeting. It works for a while but then it wears off and we need more and more of it. The real cause of this existential lethargy goes much deeper.

In today's podcast, I talk about what we can all do when that apathetic feeling strikes. I discuss the root cause of this feeling, and how to rip out the problem from the roots so that it doesn't come back again.

Path to Peace What to Do When Nothing Is Going Your Way

How do we know when to make a change and when to accept our circumstances? Is it better to stay in a familiar and safe situation than it is to take a risk on ourselves? Should we fulfill the expectations of our family or live a life that we find fulfilling?

These questions are delicate balances we will each need to navigate in our lives. Finding where the line is between hurting others and hurting ourself can be hard to find. But at the end of the day, we only have one life to live. It's impossible to please everyone. But with kindness, love and compassion we can do anything.

In today's podcast, I share how we can strike that balance. I talk about knowing when to make those big changes, whether it's quitting a job, quitting an addiction, moving to another city, or making a change in our relationships. I discuss how we can find the answer that speaks to our heart and true purpose, how to do so wisely to minimize risk, and how to honor and love the people who have different visions for how we should live our life.

Do I exist Now because of what happened in yesteryears?

We all exist because of events that take place in this eternal stream of presence. The future is tied to the past, it is not separate. But it all happens in the present moment. The future will happen because of what we do now, and what we do now is because of what came before. So you could say we are also only here because of what will happen in the future. Only the illusion of time, based on our memory and imagination, causes us to believe in this fiction.

The universe is strung together by the law of cause and effect. Nothing can happen outside of that law. And so nothing happens that isn’t directly tied to everything else. We are the result of ancestors meeting, stars exploding, gravity and everything else. We cannot escape our future. But when we learn to sit in total presence, we’re able to release the grip of the past, set aside our desires and fears of the future, and realize the blissful eternity in the here and now.

Path to Peace How to Let Go of Negative Feelings After a Bad Day

Life moves in cycles. It is the nature of all things. We live in cycles with the sun, the moon, and the seasons. Our life moves in phases from infancy through old age. We have times of high energy, low energy, emotional highs and emotional lows. This is the nature of being human.

When we spend our whole life engaged in doing things, we fail to understand how these bodies of ours operate. It's like we're strapped into a rollercoaster and we have no choice but to go along for the ride without any control or influence on the journey. When we start to pay attention and notice the patterns and cycles, we can prepare for those twists and turns, and even begin to know how to effect them.

In today's podcast, I talk about what to do when we have a low day, why we have low days, and what we can do to prevent them from happening in the first place.

I discuss ways to understand our natural cycles and rhythms. I share how we can deal with the lows, reduce the number of lows, and lift the base of our rollercoaster's platform so that the lows aren't so low and the highs are even higher.

Please enjoy other episodes where I share meditation techniques, tips and spiritual lessons from around the world for peaceful and stress-free living. Remember to subscribe to stay up-to-date.
