How Can I Bring More Positivity in my Life?

Adding More Positivity in Life more positivity in life

We all notice different things because there are many varying degrees of consciousness. Lower levels of consciousness tend to only see objects. These states of awareness are usually fixated on physical objects and sees even people as objects. The more conscious we become, the more we see non-material things, like relationships, patterns, and connections. We see how all things are connected and affect each other.

In low levels, everything appears separate, isolated, alone, random and chaotic. In high levels, oneness, beauty and meaning emerge. Low levels are states of fear, anger and greed. High levels are love, compassion and gratitude.

In Buddhism, they meditate on interconnectedness—how all things are related. You can do this too by simply thinking of your lunch. Then you can thank whoever made it for you. Then you can thank the farmers, the truck drivers, the drivers’ parents, the store clerks, the sun and the rain and the air, the plants and critters who made the right conditions for these crops, the road pavers and the taxpayers, and on and on and on. Pretty soon you’ll realize that everything we enjoy is only thanks to everything there is.

What is the True Nature of Reality?

True Nature of Reality nature of reality

If an atom’s nucleus were the size of a peanut, the atom’s empty space would be the size of a baseball stadium. If the empty space in every atom of a person’s body was removed, the actual matter of that person, all the atomic and subatomic particles, would fit inside a speck of dirt. The matter of every person on earth would fill a sugar cube.

Reality is actually just a wave of energy interpreted by the brain to create a simulated universe in our mind. Our brains are the receivers, converting “cosmic WiFi” into electrical signals projected onto our consciousness. You are not a physical being, you are the light of awareness—a point of attention in the infinite sea of consciousness, temporarily experiencing the simulated universe as an illusory body. Like the light bulb in a movie projector that makes the whole illusion appear.

Never forget your limitlessness and that you create your reality. There is only oneness in the great expanse of consciousness. There is no solidity, time, space, distance or existence without a brain to construct it. The universe is a wave of infinite probability. What will you create from it?

How to Learn to be Okay With my Scars

Learn to be Okay With Your Scars okay with scars

Have you ever just been completely blown away by something in nature that you stare at it for way too long and think about it for the rest of your life?

I once saw a tree like that in New Zealand. It had alien-like tentacles coming alive, stretching out and grasping for support. So many plants and trees in that park and in Auckland had these red veiny tendrils. A fresh red one would extend and as it aged it would turn brown, and then others would form around it once it had a solid foothold. Then the bark would cover it all and the tree would be stronger and larger than before.

If you look closely at humans, we too are like this. Human strength and resilience are forged under pressure. If you look closely at strength, you will find struggle. Where you see scars, there is transformation. There can be no success without challenge. Wear your scars proud my friend, for you can do anything.

How do I Know if I Have Found Inner Peace?

The Path to Inner Peace found inner peace

It’s easy to think we’re happy when we have our phones out, eating or drinking our favorite things, listening to a podcast or watching TV. But how long can you sit with just yourself? 5 minutes? 20? Can you be happy and content after an hour?

This is the true measure of our inner happiness. This is where we see, underneath the surface, our true inner nature. This will expose whether we are genuinely at peace, or if we need to work on it.

How we feel under the surface subtly impacts every aspect of our lives. If there is a lack of peace, we may unconsciously do everything we can to avoid that stillness. We may addictively chase pleasures and external stimuli to our own detriment. We may bottle our emotions, letting them eat away at us, or until we explode in rage.

This is why developing a daily practice of meditation can magically transform our lives. Or even just setting some time aside each day to sit quietly alone looking out the window. The more we practice, the more we can do and the happier and more at peace we’ll be.

What is the Right Approach to Meditation?

The Right Approach to Meditation right approach to meditation

There is no natural process worthy of our fear. We were born into this perfect universe as a gift, not a trick. Life sprang forth in the universe in order to play, explore, and experience the universe. Each moment is a blessing and proof that we are miracles of coincidence (quite possibly intentional coincidences) living in a miraculous universe.

If feeling that awe and wonder ever gets lost in the weeds of our daily duties and responsibilities, the Buddha often reminds us to seek the middle path. You can think of it as the Goldilocks path — not too hot, not too cold. But this doesn’t just apply to food. It applies to our spiritual path as well. We don’t want to be too lazy and get no results, but we also don’t want to be too rigid so that we either burn out or we become too extreme about it that it becomes detrimental. We have to find the perfect balance between rigidity and leniency.

We Are All One

We are All One in Different Bodies we are all one

The energy that animates me is the same energy that animates you. It is the same energy that animates all life on this planet. It has been passed onto each of us ever since the first single-celled organism came into being.

The more you look past people’s physical surface, the more you will see the oneness in all living things. We all have an inexplicable drive to live, to love, and to be loved. Every animal – and even plants we’re now learning – strive to live, take care of their young, and live in balance with each other. Generosity, kindness and compassion are survival mechanisms we each possess and can help us in witnessing the oneness of this universe.

How to Remove the Baggage From our Past?

Removing the Baggage From Our Past baggage of the past

Pain can be our greatest friend and even greater teacher. If we have the courage and clarity of
peace to look at it, we can see its lessons and even its beauty.

Oftentimes (all the time?), in regards to emotional and mental pain, we are our own worst critic. We talk to ourselves in ways we would never tolerate anyone else speaking to us. We believe our own criticism and we have a hard time believing our own — or other people’s — praise.

The past can never be negative. It was what it was. It happened in the past and it no longer even exists but in our memory. If we learn from the past, if we use what we’ve learned, and if we can move forward with greater wisdom and experience, then we can even turn it into a positive.

Path to Peace Guided Meditation to Deal with Uncomfortable Thoughts

Whether we are aware of them or not, we hall have negative thoughts that on a subconscious and unconscious level stir up stress and tension within our mind and body. In fact, when we are not aware of them, uncomfortable thoughts can easily become repressed, suppressed, and denied. And while stuffing them down can be preferable to dealing with them, from a holistic perspective these disturbing thoughts can turn into chronic stress which can manifest as everything from chronic pain to cancer.

But, there is a way to heal from negative thoughts. Just like time heals all wounds, distance from thoughts heals us from the destructive nature of negative thoughts. When we think our thoughts, we experience the heavy drama of them. When we can view them from a distance, we can see them objectively, clearly, and impartially. This guided meditation podcast is designed to help distance ourselves from such thoughts so that we can see them, heal and process them, and move on with wisdom, peace and clarity.

How Can I Dissolve my Ego?

Dissolving the Ego dissolving ego

We think that the world we see is being projected onto our mind. But the truth is, our mind is projected onto the world. Everything we see and experience is a projection of our mind. It’s seen through the lens of our past, our conditioning, our trauma, and the story about our life that we tell ourselves.

Simply becoming aware of this fact helps us recognize our place within our experience, lessens our identification as the “I” of the ego, and becomes aware of the fact that we are aware of ourselves.

In meditation, we can see through the clouds of thoughts that obscure our view and we can observe life as the miracle it truly is.

How Can We Find Peace in Every Step?

How Can We Find Peace in Every Step? finding peace

I passed this rock on a walking trail at the Buddhist monastery I was living at in Thailand. Being a million miles from home and a billion miles from my old life, I didn’t expect this message to resonate with me so much. But it struck me in my heart like a lightning bolt.

This message, “I have arrived, I am home,” is not referring to the monastery. It refers to a feeling we can carry with us in each and every step. What is home? It’s the place where we (hopefully) feel safe and at peace. What is arriving? It is the setting down of our baggage, letting our mind rest.

So how can we feel this peace in every step? It’s as simple as noticing your breath—the giver of life. If you can breathe, you’re alive in this moment. Everything else is just mental noise.

We cannot ignore this mental noise nor can we forcefully stop it. That is just the mind playing its own mind games in a futile attempt to control itself. This mental noise is like waves on the surface of the ocean. We can’t stop them and if we ignore them, they are still there. But, the more aware we become of the deep peace and stillness underneath the surface, the more the waves on top don’t seem so big. This peace always exists under the surface and we can experience it in every step we take.

If you’re ever feeling depressed or overwhelmed, just remember this mantra and allow your mind to go home and find refuge. This amazing truth is something even kids recognize.
