Put Out

“Oh, must I do that again?” you moan inside, feeling a bit put out by your responsibilities.  A part of you would like nothing better than to sit in a chair and be pampered.  That is ego, grouchy fellow that he can be.  You are here in physical form not to stagnate, but to grow—to help the soul evolve.  Every experience and every interaction with another soul becomes a growth opportunity.  Yes, it is good to rest.  Balance is critical, but when your responsibilities bring out less than loving thoughts and feelings within you, all it takes to improve your attitude is a simple shift in perspective.   Instead of, “Must I do that again?” you think to yourself, “I am so grateful for this opportunity to practice being Love.”

What does an enlightened being do after becoming enlightened?  Chop wood, carry out the trash, and be the very presence of Love.

Selfless

Self-less acts:  when you do something with no regard for personal gain.  Did you know this is impossible?  It is impossible to do something from the heart for another or a group of others and not gain in your own heart.  In serving others you are raising the consciousness, the spirit, the quality of the Whole of which you are a part.  You are “coming from the heart,” and what flows out from you must flow back.  It is the Law.  So, yes, think of it as self-less if you will, but only in terms of the individual self with a small s.  All acts of the heart come from the greater Self, which is Love.

Soul Nutrition

What are you feeding your mind?  What kind of mental diet do you digest daily?  What you read and watch is as important to the soul as food to the body.  Regular ingestion of lower vibrations maintains your over-all state of consciousness in a state of indigestion.  Heartburn is the result of imbibing in foods that you call “rich.”  Burned out is the feeling in the soul when you are poor in spirit … when the heart longs for richer thoughts and concepts than watching the cruelty and pain that those who slumber inflict upon others.  Perhaps it is time for a change.

Small vs. Big

Why do you do what you do?  What is your motive?  Ultimately, all actions come down to a desire for love.  It is that simple.  When it becomes complicated is when the love you seek is self-love, a false sense of needing to feel separate from your fellow souls, instead of Self-love, which is the recognition that all souls are one in Spirit.

When your thoughts are aligned with that greater Self, your actions will result in far greater peace, joy, and satisfaction.  Why is this?  It is a self-regulating system, nudging you every moment to move your focus from that more limited, smaller “s” to the big “S.”  Love is always there, for you are that Self.  Once the soul fully remembers this, there is no longer a need to seek love in ways that are less than beneficial to the Whole, but to simply be that which you are:  Love.

Integration

Long distance travelers grow weary.  All need rest at some point.  Along the path you cannot be in a constant state of doing without suffering imbalance.  Periods of merely being allow for integration of what is learned during the doing.  On and off, work and play, doing and being.  Seek balance, and even in the rest there is growth.

Beneath the Surface

How do you find peace?  By going within.  Certainly, it can be found outside of you, but not for long, for that is not the nature of the external world.  There you may get shaken up a bit, tossed about by the waves, and that is as it should be.  But when you grow weary of the learning experiences offered to you there on the surface, sink, sink, sink to the quiet waters within.  You cannot stay there forever, either, nor does your soul want to, for it longs to stretch and grow.  This is the nature of life:  ongoing cycles of stretching, growth, rest, and regeneration.  You see it in nature all around you.  When you can see it and recognize it within yourself, you can find peace even within the duality.

The Straightest Path

Cheating … when one arrives at a prize by not following established rules … when one earns position, authority, success, or gain of any kind by a crooked path.  The thought brings a concept of unfairness to mind.  The hair bristles.  It is human nature to desire the prize and to obtain it by the easiest methods.  You can understand this.  “Where is the fairness?”  Right or wrong, fair or unfair … these are human concepts.  Cheating is a human thing.  You all arrive at the state of mind you call Heaven—the grand prize—by following the path of the heart.  Yes, all will arrive on the other side by hook or crook, but the state of Consciousness with which you arrive will differ based upon how you thought and acted whilst in human form.  You cannot cheat death and you cannot trick the soul, which knows only honesty and love.  Be pure love and go directly Home, to Heaven, which resides in your heart, not some far off place.

In a World of Duality

To focus on the positive does not mean to put your head in the sand.  Sooner or later, as a human, you must come up for air.  You look around you and you see what you call evil.  You know it, for it is in such dissonance with the heart and soul of you.  Denying it does not make it go away, but you need not condone it nor accept it.  There is a difference between allowing and accepting.  Accepting says, “I live in a world of duality, but perhaps by helping to spread ripples of love I can make a difference.  And so, I allow these things to unfold as they will, but I do not accept them as my path.  I give no power to any-thing but Love.  I see it, I recognize it, but I do not accept this as my Truth.  I AM Love.”  With this mindset, and allowing others to accept or reject their own truth, you find peace within the duality.

When the Impossible Becomes Possible

To dream the impossible dream … Yes, songs and movies have been written from this phrase.  Lives have been rewritten as a result of it.  So many fail to dream, and those who do, dream only of possible things.  How your world would expand if you knew that anything is possible.  You are a creative being born in the image and likeness of the Creator.  Does this mean your Creator has two eyes, legs, and hands?  Or does it mean the Creator is Consciousness from which all that is—including you—has arisen?

Think of the impossibility that of the billions of beings who could have arisen from the union of billions of beings and cells YOU are here.

Anything is possible when you dream big enough, but does it serve the greater good?  Is there a greater purpose in it?  Ah, yes, there’s the rub.  Put the two together—impossible dreams and greater purpose—and you have the keys to creation.

Fearless

Fear is an integral part of the human experience—a great learning tool as well as a survival mechanism.  It is hard-wired into your system in the fight or flight response.  Do not disdain fear, but appreciate it.  But when there is no need or ability to flee, examine which of your fears are truly necessary.  Your survival, when you see with the eyes of the soul, is assured.

There is no death.  From this perspective, there is no need to fear anything.  It is only those who remain fixed in human-ego consciousness who live with fear as a partner.  Those who know the truths of the spirit may still respond with fight or flight in the moment of human “beingness,” but upon remembering who they are eternally, make the simplest shift of awareness, and move beyond the fear to the heart.  Here peace prevails in the eternal awareness that there is only one Power, and that Power is Love.

You are That.  You come from That and live to express That.  Fear is a beautiful reminder that you live for a while now in two worlds and can choose where you place your focus:  on human or spirit, fear or love.
