Ever Onward

Allow yourself to make what you call mistakes.  We call them learning opportunities.  You will have these opportunities repeatedly for the rest of your life.  A decision made or an action taken which leads to a less than optimal outcome is not a mistake if it leads to soul growth.  Get used to making mistakes, but instead of feeling regret, as you awaken more and more to who you are and why you are here, feel gratitude instead that you always have choices and always will.  Set the intention of making the optimal choices with the awareness that even those choices will change as you grow.

Bonds

When one you have known passes from your life it is a shock.  You are so very used to having their physical presence with you.  You see, feel, and hear the effects of a physical body and equate this with the one you know and love.  “I can’t believe they no longer exist!” you think in this state of shock.  “How can they be here one minute and gone the next?”  We wish you to know they are not gone, and they most certainly exist.  What is gone is the physical presence.  Yes, this is a great loss, but we wish you to realize that the spirit of that one is as near as your thoughts.

It is the human way to focus on the physical to the exclusion of the spirit.  Where was and is your greatest connection?  At the heart.  Were it not for that bond, all else would lose its importance.  The body may be gone, but the bond remains.  That bond was always of the spirit, soul-to-soul, and that soul is still with you.  Heaven is not a far off place.  It is as near as your heart.  You need only lessen your insistence and focus on the physical aspects and learn to shift your awareness to the spirit.  You are That now.  Go to the heart and connect.  Have a conversation soul-to-soul.  The one who has passed will rejoice.  “Finally, she knows!  Finally, he knows!  I am here, and I love you.”The soul is eternal.  The body is not.  Miss the physical presence as you will, but realize the truth:  Love lasts forever.

The Bridge

Build a bridge from your heart to the world, and then you can go anywhere with confidence.  When connected to your Source at the center, you are aligned with and guided by Love.  Yes, you may stumble a bit when walking amongst humans who have not yet discovered this sacred place, but you will never fall.

Be honest with yourself.  When you have fallen in the past, were you in alignment?  Where was ego?  At your side or tucked away where he belongs?  Remain in the center—not always the easiest thing to do, but most certainly the most rewarding—and you will always arrive safely Home.  You never really left, you know.  With this realization, you come to understand that the bridge from the heart is a bridge that takes you right back where you started.

A Different Kind of Power

All the wisdom of the Universe is held within a fingernail and within one tiny cell of that nail.  There is no more power in your entire body than in one hair on your body.  All that exists is your Source in form, as is all that you cannot see.

Such power you will acquire when you surrender to this knowledge, to this Awareness, to this wisdom.  But it is not the human kind of power that wishes to lord over others.  Instead, it is a Power that wishes only to experience, to be, and to love.  With such a power there are no more needs, no more desires, no more angst. With such a power you can move mountains, but you are now content to simply be in the presence of those mountains and enjoy their majesty, knowing that same Majesty flows through you.

If you begin to feel overwhelmed this day, be still, contemplate your fingernail, and relax.

Starting Anew

As you bounce back from a deep challenge, you start anew.  There is no need to revisit it and relive it again and again.  Do you do this?  If it is to see how you can avoid such a challenge again or how you could respond more lovingly should it recur, then reliving it is beneficial.  If it is to merely rehash the lower vibrations, beware.  Start anew each moment of your existence.  The past is the past.  Drag nothing with you but lessons learned and the will to evolve.  In so doing, your challenges become gifts and not baggage.

For a Reason

So many wish to take their own lives when a loved one passes.  So closely bonded are you that you feel as if a part of you and in some cases the whole of you is gone.  May it help in some way to know that they are closer than your breath, as near as your thoughts, and most certainly connected to your heart.

Now, what of this use of free will in which you take your life into your own hands?  Do you not know that there is remedial schooling and a sort of hospitalization for those who do this?  You will remain segregated upon passing from those you most wanted to be reunited with.  Yes, there will be visits, just as your loved one’s spirit visits you now, but you reap what you sow on the other side as much as you do in this one.  There are consequences for every action.  The pain caused to those left behind is commensurate with what you will feel upon realizing that your choice was far from optimal.

Do you know why you are still here and your loved one is not?  Simply because you are here for your own soul’s growth.  You soul made this decision, and you have yet more learning and loving to do.  The pain you feel is an indicator of this.  Your loved ones on the other side are patient now that they have the greater perspective.  To them your absence is only the blink of an eye.  To you it seems an eternity, but you have all of eternity to be together again.

Allow Spirit to decide when you will be reunited again and enjoy a most blessed and fruitful reunion.  In the meantime, breathe deeply often and pray, “Oh, Spirit, may I feel your presence.  Tell me what I have to learn from this time.  Show me how I can grow and serve as a result of this pain.  I am so grateful for the love we shared, that we continue to share, and will always share.”

Love is eternal, as is Life.  You have a Lifetime to be with your love.  This is but a parenthesis in eternity.

Note from Suzanne:  The last line, “A Parenthesis in Eternity,” is the title of an excellent book by Joel Goldsmith that discusses the illusory boundaries we call birth and death.

Who You Are

When you gaze upon another, see the face of God, of Spirit.  It comes in billions of forms, not just human, but all that is.  As for the human aspects of the divine, it expresses itself in many ways, many of which you may not find pleasant or even likeable.  Know that the same “I” who is inside of you is inside of all others, no matter if you resonate with a person or not.

See beyond the façade, and the personality, and the way that one has chosen to express their divinity to the pure potential aspect of their spirit.  The I AM that lies within you is the same I AM in all others.  It is through taking on those potentials in the form of form and personality that the I AM displays itself as “i am.”  Whether or not you resonate with that i am … I AM.  How does that change things for you?

On Loan

Your body is on loan to you.  It is a gift.  When you own a thing, do you not have a tendency to take it for granted and to not treat it as carefully as if you know it belongs to Another?  Treat it with kid gloves.  What does this mean?  Handle it with care, lest you have to return it and explain why you were so careless.

Now, knowing that this vessel which houses your spirit is not really yours, why do you also take credit for its ailments?  “My cold, my cancer, my heart attack,” and the like.  If the vessel you have borrowed is not quite perfect, is that a result of how you have treated it or was it slightly imperfect to begin with?  No matter!  The one who is temporarily using that vessel is perfect, beautiful, and eternal.  You have borrowed and agreed to use your vessel for a very good and valuable purpose:  to let your light shine.  How are you doing at that?

Finding Peace

Nothing lasts forever—not good times or bad.  Remember this when you are joyous or distraught.  Why?  Because joy and despair are merely opposite experiences along a spectrum you call human life.  If you can recognize that these changing states are reflections of your humanness, then you can recognize that there is another aspect of yourself.

Picture three points of a triangle.  Place joy at one point, perhaps the lower right, and despair at the opposite point on the left, and another point between the two but high above.  That point represents the place of peace.  Now cast a three dimensional sphere around that upper point.  It encompasses both the joy and the despair and all points in between and around.  That sphere represents the possibilities of all human experience which are yours to enjoy or not to enjoy. When you are ready for some peace, return to that upper point of the triangle, which you can see now is also the very center of the sphere.  It is there at the center of you.  So now we must modify our initial statement in light of this new understanding.  Nothing lasts forever in the human experience except the eternal point of peace at the center … which is the center of Consciousness … the eternal I AM.

Giving Meaning

Where do memories come from?  Not from the brain.  They are not stored there any more than your current thoughts are.  Memories are just current thoughts that continue to exist as vibration.  Each exists as a pattern … a frequency that your beautiful instrument of a brain detects and displays for you as needed.  It is you who gives that frequency meaning.  It is you who allows those eternal thought patterns to affect you.

And now, the big announcement:  You exist as a thought-pattern.  Of whom or of what?  Of the One Divine Mind.  It is you who gives meaning to Life, but only after you give meaning to YOUR life … the Life experiences you are having now.  How will you color them with your seemingly individual mind?  With black paint or gold?  With lower thoughts or love-filled gems?

All is Consciousness and you are That.  Let memories hold no sway over you unless they lead you to a greater experience of Love.
