Scrubbed Clean
Are you feeling offended? That is ego. Are you feeling put-upon? That is ego as well. Fearful? Angry? Judgmental? Oh, the many faces of ego. Were you to stop and think about them all they would astound you, and they are oh, so changeable. They are called masks for a reason. All of them superimpose your natural state, which wears neither a smile nor a frown. Your basic essence is Love. Try as it might, ego cannot mask that forever. Love is too powerful. Unless one’s wounds are so deep that one’s true essence is buried beyond awareness, love will continue to remind you what is real. Step out from behind the masks and reveal your Self to the world. You are beautiful without the masks or the makeup. That shiny look … it is worth exposing.

The Best Policy
Honesty is the best policy. Why is this? Because a part of you always knows truth, is truth, has no opposites, is only Love. That is spirit. There is another part of you that feels it must protect itself, make itself look better in some way, or come out ahead. This is ego. This is the part that cares not about truth, but about separation. This is the part of you that fears. Why do you want to speak anything but truth? It is a good question to ask anytime anything less than truth is upon your tongue. Acknowledge ego and tell it to go away. Bring love to the forefront, and with it, honesty.

Unbalanced
You are whole already. You are complete. Nothing is lacking in your basic essence as spirit. Picture a sphere filled with love, filled to overflowing. That is you. Relationships merely add a different dimension. You will appreciate the play on words. Relationships exist for you to realize your fullness, your essence as love. They are not necessary for your completion. They only add to the joy of this awareness or detract from it for the lessons they bring.Picture each of your relationships like a yin-yang symbol. There you are with the other, dancing back and forth, seeking balance and harmony. Where there is imbalance, there is a lesson. Is one of you giving more than the other? Is one of you giving less? Then that relationship is out of balance. Ask yourself why, and there you can see what the relationship has to teach you.

Well Armed
You agreed to this … not to the pain, but to the relationships which would bring your soul the most growth. It is a fact of life as a human that some of the greatest growth results from pain, but principally when you recognize the pain as growth opportunities. The way to peace is always found through love. Where do you then end up? In the heart, at the very center of you. This place takes you to a state of neutrality, where you then can choose how you will react when you step out of the center and back into the world of opposites. You knew it would not be easy when you came here, but you did not come unarmed. Use those arms to embrace life, with all of its challenges and opportunities.

Stew
Yes, spirit recycles. All of life goes in cycles. You call this reincarnation. Some are happy to learn that you are given a choice to come back and continue the soul’s growth. Some are filled with fear: “If reincarnation is a fact, does this mean I will not see my deceased love one when I pass from this lifetime?” Have no fear. As the soul goes through each lifetime, it changes. The goal is always in the direction of a higher vibration of consciousness. In this way, each soul moves to the astral world with a unique flavor. In the spirit world, just as in the physical world, all of these flavors combine to make a unique taste. Think of consciousness like a stew. In the physical world the ingredients are coarse and do not always mix well together. In the higher dimensions the ingredients become more fine and blend better. When Spirit makes the decision to take on more growth in the human laboratory of learning, a bit of the heavenly stew takes form once again, now with a bit of a different flavor than the last time, but with hints of the old. Should you run into this new soul in this lifetime, you might sense something familiar in their flavor. Trust us, however, that the familiar flavor that your loved one developed whilst in the human form that you knew and loved will be quite recognizable to you when your time comes to add your improved flavor to the mix.
Perhaps now you will understand why some groups here you find a bit distasteful. It is the blending of flavors that are not in resonance with your own. Never forget that the basic ingredient of all recipes is love.

Heaven or Hell?
The question has been asked, "Is there a place after passing from the body of great horrors and gnashing of teeth that you would know of as hell?" There is no such place, geographically, but there exists the possibility of experiencing such a state of mind. Understand that there is naught but consciousness ... all is thought. This state of mind in which you exist now is thought solidified. It can be a heaven or a hell dependent upon your thoughts. Even those who have found themselves in what most would consider the direst of conditions have sung songs and found peace.Hell is a state of mind. What you experience immediately upon departing from the physical body depends greatly upon your belief system ... your thought system. Do you believe such a place exists? Do you believe that you deserve to be there? Many do. This coalescence of consciousness creates a thought form that some will experience, for they have manifested this with their thoughts. Understand us well, however, that the basic essence of all that is is Love. The higher vibrations of non-physical form lend themselves to realities that are far less lasting than those which you experience now. The non-physical worlds last only as long (in a world where there is no time) as the thought forms exist. Always the force of light will overcome darkness and make its way into the consciousness of those who may be experiencing exactly what they expected to experience upon passing. "This is not my true home," will be the realization of those who have raised their consciousness through their thoughts and actions as a human to move on to the realms of greater light. Understand that these states of consciousness are completely a fabrication of a lesser mind. One can pass through this state as quickly as one passes through a cloud of smoke or remain there until one's consciousness expands through awakening. It is completely by choice. It is not a place of punishment, but a place of erroneous thinking. And what of those who perpetrate acts of what you would call evil? They may not even pass through this state, believing that their actions were warranted. There is a major difference, however. They are immediately shown the full effect of their actions on their fellow beings and are held accountable for the failure to add to the light. They are surrounded by love so that they realize the missed opportunities to make more optimal choices, but are not able to partake of the higher state of consciousness until they make the necessary adjustments and grow.Do you believe there is only one Power, one Force, and that it is Love? Then you need have no fear of encountering anything less than this upon passing. It is fear alone accompanied by erroneous belief systems--most often due to what others have taught and instilled in one's consciousness--that bring about the fear of a hell. You may very well be escorted through such an environment by your heavenly escorts upon passing, but only to show you the results of lower souls' consciousness holding such a possibility in thought-form. You will feel no fear, for you already know Truth in your soul.Fear not. Fear is a construct of a lesser consciousness. Hold your awareness on the truth that your soul already knows: that all that exists is Light and that you are That, and this shall be your experience, both here and in the hereafter.

Another's Drama
Others come in and out of your life for a purpose. Loyalty is an admirable trait, but it does not require remaining available for another beyond the useful service of the friendship. When another ceases growing in spite of your interactions and your combined energies reach a state of dissonance, the relationship may have served its purpose. Another’s drama need not become your drama. You always have a choice. Are you able to see beyond the other’s drama to the beautiful soul within? Can you send that soul love and compassion? If the answer is yes and the human drama has become too much, then perhaps you may choose to move on. One can be detached and still send compassion and love.

Of Service
Are you feeling frustration with a friend or partner? Why is that? It is because you perceive something relative to your own thoughts or actions which are different and you judge them as lesser or wrong. And what happens next? You perceive a better way and you entertain thoughts of how you could or should change the other. For some reason—and there may be many—your friend does not change. The reasons why matter not. What matters is that you, my friend, experience frustration rather than peace. Is it your place to change or in some perceived way improve them? If you are less than peaceful over your friend’s situation, then the place to focus your attention is on yourself. Even if your friend has asked for help or asked to be changed, if you are feeling frustration, your friend is still in your life for a reason: to teach you. Peace and unconditional love. These are the qualities of higher consciousness. If you are not experiencing these, then focus not on changing your friend, but on changing yourself. You can stay with your friend or walk away. Whichever you choose, if you do so with peace and with unconditional love, then the relationship has been of service.

With Trust
To do something out of desperation reveals a lack of remembrance of your true nature. Desperation contains angst, worry, fear … none of which are characteristic of your basic nature, which is love. You are spirit, a beautiful soul who is loved immensely at all times and beyond time. May these words awaken this awareness within you. In that awareness will you see that there is never a need to do anything out of desperation. Desperate, fearful acts are the sign of a human being who is out of alignment with the soul. There is no shame in this. May your desperation serve merely as a signpost. As you see that sign, turn in the other direction from wherever you find yourself, and head toward the heart. There you will find peace, comfort, and your one true Home.Note from Suzanne: Did you know that you can receive these messages of hope by email? Rest in Peace
Fear is a funny thing. You do anything you can to avoid it because you fear being afraid. You worry about things that might or might not happen, creating as assortment of frightening scenarios in your mind. These become contagious. You always have a choice—to be afraid or at peace, but so many choose the fear. Why? Because it is the easiest option.Did you ever think about this? How easy it is to run and hide, to avoid, to worry. These things keep the mind occupied and focused on the self, keeping one believing he or she is helpless and powerless. Ah, are you beginning to see the work of something you recognize here? Yes, fear is a mighty tool of the ego. It is one of ego’s favorite ways of keeping you enslaved.
If you truly recognized your innate Power and the peace that underlies your current reality, you would bypass ego completely and go straight to the silence, into the heart, where fear has no hold. Rest in peace, my friend. This is far more than a phrase you say to the dying. It is one of the greatest spiritual directives for those who choose to truly live.
