BLUEPRINT: Why Create A Plan For Your Life

Some people live their entire lives never taking the time to sit down and write out what it is they would like to accomplish in their lifetime. It’s amazing how this is a subject matter that’s not even taught in school to teens or young adults.
You can live your entire life never knowing that you could’ve drawn out a blueprint of the life you ultimately want and then spend the rest of your life building it.
I was talking to a Coaching Client the other day and explained that most people spend more time planning a one-week vacation than identifying what outcomes they want to see in the major areas of their lives.
Most people wander aimlessly from week to week, with no clear destination in mind. Many are then surprised when life doesn’t turn out like they hoped. But is it any wonder?
The Scripture says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” It doesn’t say, where there is no money, no opportunity, or no talent. What limits us is a lack of vision.
This is why I believe everyone should take the time to create a written life plan document. For those of you that really want to draw up your blueprint for the rest of your life, don’t forget we have a virtual summit coming up.
There are at least seven reasons why I believe this is important:
 1. Your blueprint will help you clarify your most important priorities.
 2. Your blueprint will enable you to maintain balance.
 3.  Your blueprint will provide a filter by which you can say “no” to lesser things. Once you have said “yes” to what really matters, you are in a great position to say “no” to those activities that matter less.
 4. Your blueprint will empower you to identify and address your current realities. You can’t get where you want to go unless you start with where you are.
5. Your blueprint will equip you to envision a better future. You need to acknowledge where you are, but you also need to see clearly where you are going.
6. Your blueprint will serve as a road map for accomplishing what really matters.
7. Your blueprint will help ensure that you don’t finish life with regrets.
Take a second today, to prioritize the most important things in your life.
Where are you going in faith?
Where are you going in family?
Where are you going in fitness?
Where are you going in finance?
Where are you going in fun?
Plot a course, set the GPS …. No more waiting! GO!
Please go to www.RicardoMiller.com and register today for the upcoming EFFECTIVE LIVING BLUEPRINT SUMMIT, this is going to be an incredible half day of training that’s going to help you clarify what you’re building.

Becoming an Effective Living Ambassador

During this week’s blog, it’s all about becoming an Effective Living Ambassador. Below you will find the description of the American Ambassador and a Kingdom Ambassador. I believe that it is critically important that we embrace the fact that we are representatives in the earth in all three of these areas if you are an American citizen.
1. AMERICAN AMBASSADORS: An ambassador in the United States is the President’s highest-ranking representative to a specific nation or international organization abroad. An effective ambassador has to be a strong leader—a good manager, a resilient negotiator, and a respected representative of the United States. A key role of an ambassador is to coordinate the activities not only of the Foreign Service Officers and staff serving under him, but also representatives of other U.S. agencies in the country.
2. KINGDOM AMBASSADORS: Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. - 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 God calls us to walk in the Spirit and keep in step with Him. That means that the life of the Christian is not passive.
3. EFFECTIVE LIVING AMBASSADORS:  An EFFECTIVE LIVING AMBASSADOR is all about FAITH, FAMILY, FINANCE, FITNESS and FUN as a lifestyle. It’s about holistic living, nothing missing, lacking or broken.
An Effective Living Ambassador is trying to have it all. This person is a healthy/very positive representative of this message to everyone he or she comes in contact with.
It’s not about a book, it’s about a lifestyle. It’s not about other people, it’s about being truly who you are.
In Coach Ricardo Miller‘s book EFFECTIVE LIVING he defines it as, "Effective Living is doing what you want to do, when you want, where you want, with whom you want, as much as you want."
The definition of effective living epitomize first Corinthians 6:12  “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.”
When it’s all said and done, the goal is to…Do your best. Give your best. Be your best.
As you read this week’s blog I want to remind you that, the day you become awake and decide to live life on your terms is the day you are truly born. It’s the day you begin to live life effectively.
Right now decide to live life on your own terms and make those terms exceedingly positive. Make sure God is consulted in all of your decisions. Choose to spend each moment to the best of your abilities.
Shout it out loud with me right where you are:
I am an EFFECTIVE LIVING Ambassador!
I am an EFFECTIVE LIVING Ambassador!
I am an EFFECTIVE LIVING Ambassador!
Join the movement and become an EFFECTIVE LIVING ambassador…The JOURNEY is better with FRIENDS!!

Why You Should Never Give Up

People do it all the time! Not because people do it all the time means that it is right. What am I talking about during this week’s blog? I’m talking about the large number of people who are frequently giving up on themselves.

You can never be who you were created to be if you are consistently throwing in the towel and quitting at the things you’re supposed to do. Over the years I’ve met so many people who are educated and very gifted but unfortunately their life does not reflect it because they quit so easily and so frequently.

I’m a strong believer that positivity, confidence, and persistence are key in life, so never give up on yourself. Unfortunately, most people are struggling with all of these key words.

I’m of the belief that the words “Give” and “Up” should never be together in your mind. As human beings we are are one of the most resilient and strongest species to have ever walked on the earth.

As human beings we have done some incredible things because of our resilience and persistent attitude which differ from any other creature on the planet.

As you think about what I’ve written in this week’s blog I want you to remember these basic points on why you should never give up on yourself:

1. You are bigger than your temptation.

2. It’s all in your head.

3. Life is not meant to be easy.

4. The storm is almost over.

5. You will win, if you don’t quit.

I would love to take some time and dive into each of these points but if you go and subscribe to my YouTube channel you would see Coach Della Major and I talking about this topic and give even more practical truths as to why you should never give up.

As you’re on your journey to creating an amazing life remember that, Rome wasn’t built in a day. It was built brick by brick. Success doesn’t come overnight, it comes through hard work, patience and endurance.

Please please do not give up on yourself… If you need help, get some help but don’t quit. Slow down if you must but don’t quit. Make plans now to attend the upcoming EFFECTIVE LIVING BLUEPRINT SUMMIT on Saturday, October 8th from 9am to 3:00pm. Learn more and register at https://www.ricardomiller.com/content.cfm?page_content=web_store_product_detail_include.cfm&product_id=193

It’s a virtual training opportunity that’s going to help you bring all of the pieces together for the life you’re creating.

Life is Not Too Short

Everyday provides opportunities. Opportunities to confront our fears, correct our mistakes, and make amends with our past. We have no one to blame but ourselves if we do not seize these opportunities.

During this week’s blog, I want to give you a wake up call! Life is not too short. There are more than enough minutes in an hour, hours in a day, and days in a year to change anything about your life you want to change.

It is the purest truth, it is our responsibility to take advantage of every opportunity that life offers us.  We are the ones who decide what is best for us, it is ours, the power of decision. We should never forget that.

As we prepare to go into the month of September, I want us to remember this: life is a game in which happiness is the goal.

I saw these incredible words by Mother Teresa, I'd like to share them with you, “Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it. Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it. Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it.”

Think about those words for a moment. It is your responsibility to make sure you’re bringing life, to your life. It is your responsibility to make sure that you are playing to win in the game of life.

We're responsible for everything in our lives. We're responsible for our happiness, misery, and choices.

Accountability is not blaming others for our situation. It's understanding we control our outcome.

People ridicule, attack, and condemn what they are afraid of. If you are unique, confident, and successful it frightens people. You should not be living to please other people, but to identify the perfect will of God and walk in everyday.

Never diminish your authenticity to reduce anyone's fear. Your job everyday is the learn how to maximize your potential so God can be glorified through your life.

I want you to know, everything we do is always a choice. You can choose to get up and take responsibility or blame everyone else but yourself. Either way, no one is coming to save you.

Decide to Make Your Life Fun

Let’s face it. Many people have boring lives. Or so it seems.

We get up in the morning, have breakfast, start our daily grind, eat lunch, do some more work, get home, watch Netflix, spend some time with our partner, and go to sleep.

If we are disciplined and motivated, we might squeeze in a gym session. And the ones who are genuinely determined spend a few hours at night working on their side hustles.

In short, most of us follow the same “boring” routine every day and endlessly fantasize about the future. This is so unfortunate and that’s why I want to challenge you to decide to make your life fun.

It is so important you decide to enjoy the journey.

I’m reminded of the words of one of my mentors, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing. So go live your life because you only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”

Go out there and live your life to the fullest!

Here are a few things you can do to make your life fun:

1. Stop saying no so much.
2. Get out of your comfort zone at least once daily.
3. Decide to laugh more.
4. Stop taking life so seriously.
5. Start hanging out with fun people.

You can’t click a button and change your life from boring to exciting. But you can do some very practical things that will make your life come alive.

Go ahead and add a dose of curiosity and creativity to your life. I'm begging you to stop being so boring. Life is a journey. Live creatively.

Taking even a few minutes our of your day to gain some perspective can add some much needed sense of adventure to your life.

SPICE UP YOUR LIFE!! Looking to add some adventure to your life? You still got time to join me and some of my Effective Living friends on our upcoming cruise this October 10th-15th. Go to our website to learn more about it.

If you’re in the Dallas/Fort Worth area make plans now to join us also for our Effective Living 5K Run/Walk on Saturday September 3rd, 2022. Learn more and register HERE.

Don’t Quit on Yourself

Are you putting yourself down? Talking about how you don’t measure up, what you can’t do, how you’ll never be free? Do yourself a favor: quit cursing yourself and start blessing yourself.

- Stop putting yourself down.
- Stop doubting how far you’ve come.
- Stop regretting the choices you’ve made.

Don’t cave in.
Always encourage, support and believe in yourself. That’s the way forward!

Never quit on yourself. People quitting on you and life throwing you daily obstacles are not excuses to quit on yourself. My goal today is to help you understand you should never quit on yourself.

OVERCOMING ADVERSITY IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT. Learning to enjoy life regardless of the various adversities is how we overcome. I want to challenge you to make a decision that you’re going to enjoy life, no matter what happens.

Learn how to do life by yourself.
Learn how to have fun by yourself.
Learn how to motivate yourself.

No one is going to give you the life you want. You have to choose to create it. When you quit on yourself, you might as well forget the life you dream of.

When you don’t quit on yourself, you get what you want, in due time.

5 REASONS YOU CAN NEVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF EVEN WHEN OTHERS DO:

1. All problems have a solution
2. Life rewards those who keep trying
3. You can find other sources of help
4. Not giving up could have a huge impact on others
5. Your past does not dictate your future

Please remember this: You never know how close you are to being where you want to really be. DON’T EVER QUIT ON YOURSELF!

PEOPLE WILL QUIT ON YOU. Just make sure you don't quit on yourself.

Have you registered for our annual Effective Living 5k Run/Walk? You still have time! Join us Saturday, September 3 at 7:30 a.m. at Great Trinity Forest Gateway Park. Learn more and register HERE.

Working Hard Doesn’t Guarantee Success

Progress requires unlearning. Becoming the best version of yourself requires you to continuously edit your beliefs, and to upgrade and expand your identity. This is something I remind my coaching clients.

On your journey to living life effectively, I want you to consistently remember how important it is for you unlearn what you should’ve never learned in the beginning.

Many people think hard work is the secret to success. But is it really? What does it mean to work hard anyway? People really struggle with ways to define it.

Over the years I’ve encouraging my coaching clients to change their mindset to be “working smarter; not harder.” I really need you to get this: working smarter is more useful than working harder!

Don’t get me wrong, you’re going to have to work hard to become successful on your journey to effective living.

It is very important you learn how to work smarter not harder. Working smarter is a proactive strategy that sets pros apart.

Here’s a few things I want you to keep in mind:

1. Working hard can be draining.
2. Working smart saves you energy.
3. Working smarter increases your productivity.
4. Working hard saps your motivation, confidence, and desire to continue.
5. Working smarter makes you more valuable.
6. Working smarter requires creativity.
7. Working smarter increases your self-esteem.

The key to living life effectively is to work smarter, not harder. Working smarter boosts productivity, creativity, and saves precious energy for the things that really matter, like your family.

YOU SHOULD BE WORKING TO “LIVE”, not “LIVING” to work.

Please don’t forget that progress requires unlearning old habits and behaviors in order for you to truly live life effectively.

Pursuing the BEST VERSION of ourselves requires CONTINUOUSLY editing parts of us that is hindering OUR GROWTH.

You need your body in it's best physical condition to help you work smarter, not harder. If you are in the Dallas Fort Worth area, I invite you to join us at the Annual Effective Living 5k Run/Walk Meetup. The event is Saturday, September 3 at 7:30 a.m. We'll be at Trinity Forest Gateway Park. Learn more and register HERE.

That's Just Me

It is critically important we are careful in regards to what we repeatedly say about ourselves. Our words have power. They create our lives on a daily basis.

Think about how many times you have said…
- “That’s just not me.”
- “I’ve been this way my entire life.”
- “Everybody knows that’s not me.”
- “Somethings just don’t worth trying.”
- “I will never be good at that.”
- “You can ask my family, they will tell you that’s not me.”

These are all words people pick up frequently and adopt as their identity. It’s the first day of August. I want you to know, you are so much more than what you keep telling yourself.

You can actually do more than you think, but when you tell yourself you can't and believe that, then you won't do more.

Here’s a few things I want you to take into consideration.
- You can learn faster than you think you can. But if you think you can’t, you probably won’t even try.
- You can dream bigger than you think you can. But if you think you can’t, you probably won’t even try.
- You can live more boldly than you think you can. But if you think you can’t, you probably won’t even try.
- You can push the limits a little bit more than you think you can. But if you think you can’t, you probably won’t even try.
- You can fight through the fatigue longer than you think you can. But if you think you can’t, you probably won’t even try.
- You can take being laughed at more than you think you can. But if you think you can’t, you probably won’t even try.

You can always do more than you think you can. But you won’t find out if you’re not willing to try. You’ve got to also change what you are saying about yourself.

Go ahead and start declaring something as basic as this…
- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
- I am ordained unto a life of fruitfulness and productivity.
- Everywhere I go; I am highly favored, because God’s divine grace is with me.
- Prosperity, healing, God’s goodness and mercies flows through me today and always.

This is going to be a very very progressive month for you. You’re going to start declaring what is right and true in regards to your identity in Christ.

Don't forget: sometimes trying means you get hurt and/or fail. Pick yourself up and go in the direction you want to be in. God is with you!

Trying is your way to win in the moment. It’s your way to take a risk on you. Remind yourself everyday I’ve got this!

You're invited to join us for our 5k Run/Walk Labor Day weekend. If you are around the Dallas-Fort Worth area, come out and enjoy this time with us. It's not about competition, but completion. Learn more and register HERE.

Play Fairly and Win

LIFE IS A GAME. YOU HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO EITHER LEARN OR LOSE. These are the words shared with me by one of my mentors many years ago. I made up in my mind that I was going to learn. I don’t want to live a life where I can win without taking time to study how to win.

I’m aware there are many people who are not taking the time to learn the game of life.

It is important you understand, life is a game just like all the other games. The difference is, life is the only game we usually do not realize is a game. Each of us has decided, largely unconsciously, a set of rules based on our worldview and our beliefs. We think our rules are right and inherently true. One of the questions I ask my coaching clients is, how is that working for you?

How is that world view working for you?

How is that’s just what I believe working for you?

Life is a series of games. Sometimes you LOSE, sometimes you WIN. The principle I have to ask you is, are you learning when you’re losing and are you aware of what’s helping you to win? Many of us know this and yet, we often keep playing games we lose. I ask all of my clients, why not play to win? Don’t you enjoy winning? I do. You know what I don’t like? Losing. Yep you read that correctly, I don’t like losing.

I don’t mind losing a few games, but overall, I WANT TO WIN. I'm guessing, if you're reading this blog and are on your journey to living live effectively, you’re not any different. I’ve never met a person who said, “I love to lose.” As you learn to live life effectively, you are learning to have more wins in the game of life.

I’ve noticed, people who pretend they don’t mind losing, gave up on life years ago. I get it. Life is hard and when you lose a lot, you can become numb. That’s why this concept is so important.

Winning ain’t easy. There’s little room at the top. But, it doesn’t mean you can’t be at the top of your game. Decide to win! Life is a game and you might as well decide to win.

Please remember, that every game has rules. Obey the rules, win the game; disobey the rule, lose the game.  The game of life has loser and winners. Play fairly and win!

Mark your calendar for our upcoming Effective Living 5k Run/Walk, on Saturday, September 3. We are about completion, not competition. Your completion is your win. Learn more and register HERE.

The Journey of Becoming

In this season, it’s all about becoming. Every day is an opportunity to begin again. I challenge you to make a decision that you will not ever stop becoming the person you were created to be.

Who you are becoming is more important than what you are accumulating. The person you will become in 4 years will be based upon these 4 principles.

1. The people you surround yourself with.

“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” -Jim Rhon

If you’re going to realize your potential, you need to surround yourself with people who will push you to become the very best version of yourself. Avoid drama. Avoid negativity. Always surround yourself with people that will push you to do and be better.

2. The books you read.

“If you don’t like to read, you haven’t found the right book.” - J.K. Rowling

The more you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go. Reading allows you to discover what took some a lifetime to learn. If you’re not reading you’re not growing. The books you read have the potential to tremendously change your life for the better. If you have not read my Effective Living book I encourage you to visit my website and order your copy now. You won’t regret it!

3. The habits you’ve created.

“Sow a thought, reap an action; sow an action, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny.” - Unknown

Study your habits. Depending on what they are, our habits will either make us or break us. Remember, we become what we repeatedly do. Some people think all they need to do is be motivated. Motivation is not enough. Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going. Successful people are simply those with successful habits.

4. The environment you are in.

Evaluate your environment. Is it positive? Is it encouraging? Is it supportive and helping you transform and grow? If it is not, make some changes. You owe it to yourself.

There are things you can see when you change the environment. Anytime you have the urge to return to a harmful environment, keep in mind the damage it had on your sanity and the duration of time it took to regain your peace of mind. Environment matters on your journey to living life effectively!

Life is all about becoming a better version of yourself. Effective Living is a journey, not a destination. It's not a straight-line process either. Focus on everyday progress instead.

Don’t read this week’s blog simply as an interesting read. Make a commitment to start applying the principles you’re learning.
