Stop Avoiding Your Problems
Problems abound. Ignoring your problems won’t help you grow, nor will it allow you to get to that place where your potential is fully maximized. What I’ve come to discover is ignoring a problem simply keeps you stuck and limits you from moving progressively ahead in a healthy way.
Review any challenges you’ve had in the past and decide to learn from them but, don’t ignore them. Ignoring your problem does not fix the problem.
I’ve seen so many people who have the potential to do great things, waste their time by being distracted with social media, excessive eating, or binge watching Netflix with a hope and a prayer their problems are just going to disappear.
Acting like something does not exist does not help you in any way. I’m on a mission to help everyone in the Effective Living community learn how to get better in every area this year.
Your life becomes more stressful when the number of problems in your life continues to increase and you don’t address them. You decrease the chances of being truly happy if you fail to address the ever-growing number of problems in your life.
Sometimes we are too busy and we ignore little things. These little things we ignore can sometimes include little problems. We think they are little problems and ignore them until they compound into something bigger and then it can be too late.
We are sometimes left with bigger problems than we can handle, simply because we ignored the little problems that came along the way. This is why we need to look into the little things every time, to avoid these things compounding into something bigger.
I want you to shout out loud: I’m not going to ignore my problem! I’m not going to ignore my problem! I’m not going to ignore my problem!
After declaring that out loud, I want you to understand that even if you don’t know what to do with your problem, someone is assigned to help you. Seek help from a trusted advisor. Get help where necessary. Don’t ignore the problem.
I would also like to remind you to register for our upcoming Effective Living Virtual Retreat and 5k. You can be anywhere in the world and participate in our virtual retreat. Crush the Competition
I’m of the belief, someone is going to do extremely well every day. If someone is going to do well every day, every week, every month, and possibly every year, the question needs to be asked, “Why not me?”
Every morning when you get up, you’ve got to decide you’re going to be so determined to crush the competition. Anyone standing in your way, will be run over.
I’m here to tell you, as you read this blog, whatever your hand finds to do, be sure to do it with all you've got because you have no idea the heights you can reach.
God rewards dedication and sacrifices. None of it is will ever be in vain. Winning feels incredible!
Keep doing what you’ve been called to do until your elevation comes. Never allow mediocrity to rule you. Always strive to deliver the best!!
It’s the first day of March. Tell yourself, “I’m going to end the first quarter of 2021 strong.”
Please remember, “If you are lazy, you will never get what you are after, but if you work hard, you will get a fortune.” -Proverbs 12:27 GNT
Here at 8 key things to do when it comes to crushing the competition in any area of life:
1. You have to see the big picture.
2. You have to think well ahead.
3. You have to learn to be creative.
4. You have to think above your competition.
5. You have to study patterns.
6. You have to set your days up early.
7. You have to be driven by your goals and not your feelings.
8. You have to learn how to make sacrifices.
I’m believing 2021 is going to be an incredible year for all those who decide to get up each day like a boss. Those who are prepared to put in the work – and actually do the work – and decide to make no excuses when it comes to advancing in what they have been placed here to do, will achieve greatness this year.
Your goal is to maximize your potential, because the truth of the matter is the competition doesn’t matter. You are in a lane all by yourself. You don’t need to pay attention to anyone other than you. Focus on all you are capable of becoming.
This is one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.”- Ecclesiastes 9:10 NIV
Meditate on this scripture. Focus on it. Make it personal. Decide now to crush it!! Don’t be weak. Learn how to put your goals in front of you every day and discipline yourself to do what you gotta do.
Accountability can help you stay focused. Consider joining my Effective Living Coaching Group. This growing community is showing up daily and are on the journey together to creating the life they don’t need to take a vacation from. Also, don’t forget to register for this year’s retreat. One weekend, five workshops, many activities, and fun, happening April 9-11. Find out more information and register HERE.
If you believe you’re going to win in every area of life this year, post in the comments below CRUSHING IT!

Push Past the Feelings
The ability to repeatedly get yourself excited and stay focused is a discipline for those that demand success! As you read this week’s blog, I want to remind you, success requires more discipline than the average person is accustomed to.
On your journey to living life effectively, negative feelings will come. You have to prepare a plan that will combat your fears and feelings.
Those who have learned how to get the most out of their lives have committed themselves to push past insecurity and feelings of loneliness, inadequacies and fears while growing. Once done, your reward will be FREEDOM!
Once you discipline yourself for success the doors will begin to open at unbelievable rates! Success requires a level of discipline that requires you to not be driven by your feelings, but by your vision.
At any given moment, you are one decision away from greatness. Your ability to be committed, to keep showing up on a daily basis, is what’s going to get you to that place where you’re living a life you don’t need to take a vacation from.
Be careful who you surround yourself with. Push past the naysayers, fear and uncomfortable feelings and do what others say you cannot. Say goodbye to your old attitude! Don’t nurse your feelings of loneliness, inadequacies or fear.
When you push through the pain, success will be waiting for you on the other side. The journey to success may try to break your will. But you have to dig down and push through.
Hold yourself to a higher standard. Consider getting a coach. Remember, someone is assigned to help you. Our group coaching services allow you to be in a community with others who are working towards their dreams, as they develop their life management skills or build on their executive level skills. Our website has more information about our life management or executive group coaching services.
Mark your calendar for the Effective Living Virtual Retreat and Virtual or In-Person Meetup 5k. Early bird registration is happening now through March 1. Get more information HERE.

Start Building Your New Skill Set
While bad decisions will lead to regret, good decisions will aid in the achievements of your goals. What goals have you set? What decisions are you making?
This week, I want to remind you, building a new you will take effort. A whole lot of effort. You’re going to need to acquire new skills that will help you accomplish your goals.
It is important you understand, building a new skill set is hard. Accept it and get to work. You are on a journey to create the life you’ve always desired.
Initially, things will seem hard, complex, difficult to understand and implement. Building a new you will require you to do things that are uncomfortable. It will all be worth it, if you continue to engage yourself in doing what you have to do and refuse to quit.
Start practicing every day doing the things you discover are necessary to enforce the skill set you may have been unfamiliar with. Remember, you’re doing this because your new life depends on it.
Do not be afraid to start slow or feel dumb for starting with fundamentals. A good friend of mine told me years ago, “EMBARRASSMENT IS THE COST OF ENTRY.” I truly believe that statement with all my heart. I want to encourage you to not allow anything to stop you from acquiring the skills that are going to get you to your dream life.
If you have set a super strong goal for yourself, committing to a schedule will not be as hard as you think because the outcome will keep you pushing forward when you would otherwise normally want to quit.
Constantly ask yourself, “What if this new thing I’m doing actually works out for me?” Allow this question to be what pushes you and reminds you to keep moving forward.
Most people underestimate the results six months of focus and discipline can bring into one’s life when you are acquiring the right skills. Once you discover the skill set you need, go and acquire it so you can remove all limits from your life.
Perhaps you need assistance or a bit of guidance creating the life of your dreams, personally or professionally. Here at Effective Living Life Management Agency, we want to serve you on your journey. We offer three different coaching programs. We have a coaching program for you. Visit our coaching page HERE to learn more.

How to Reivent Yourself
There will be times in your life when you feel stuck and may discover a need to learn how to reinvent yourself. This could come when you experience a big change, such as leaving your job, ending a relationship, moving to a new home, or losing a loved one.
If you are going through a major shift in your life, you may have to find new ways of thinking or doing things, or risk failing to reach your full potential.
Many people who dared to leave their old, unhappy lives enabled themselves to pursue their passions and find a renewed zest for living. You can also achieve the same, if you take a leap of faith and make things happen for yourself.
I’ve shared with my coaching clients, “A goal without a plan is just a dream. Nothing wrong with dreaming, but we’d rather make things happen!” This is where your attitude shifts from a goal to a plan.
I’d like to help you be your best wherever you may be in your personal or professional life. Here are some practical tips on how to reinvent yourself.
Consider what needs to happen to make your goals a reality. Remember you are about to reinvent yourself.
Planning out your steps is the hardest part of this process, but it is absolutely necessary to your success. Define your goals. Define a plan. Define benchmarks and key results.
Write out everything and give yourself deadlines as to what you are going to do on this journey to reinventing yourself.
I can’t say it enough. A dream without a plan is just a wish. Wishes are awesome but having a wish is not going to reinvent your life in and of itself.
Before embarking on a journey of self-reinvention, professionally and/or personally, you need to make sure you have everything you need to make the trip bump-proof. These things include:
1. The goal.
2. The course of action to reach the goal.
3. The deadline to hit the goal.
4. A daily plan to ensure the above 3 are kept.
During the process of learning how to reinvent yourself, you will have to pull yourself away from your old comfort zones, habits, roles, and self-perceptions.
This can be difficult and cause you to question your self-worth. On the journey, it’s important to engage in self-care to maintain a positive outlook and keep your mind and body healthy.
If you truly want to reinvent yourself and live the life you desire, take the advice I’ve shared and start taking action. Time, patience, and plenty of effort will be necessary on your part to make the changes you want happen, but it will be worth it.
Consider joining us at our upcoming Effective Living Virtual Retreat, April 9-11, 2021. Learn more information about this sure to be life-changing weekend that will be all about you.

Treat Yourself Right This Year
It’s February 1. The first month of 2021 is gone. Today, I want to focus on helping you to understand time does not stop for anyone. People have come and they have gone. The world continues to move regardless of your sorrows and pain.
Please know the message I share on my Effective Living platform regarding the importance of you taking care of yourself will never change.
This week, I’m going to continue to push my message of treating yourself right this year so you can eventually create a life you don’t need to take a vacation from.
I’m a big believer in baby steps. If you decide to do the following things, I promise your life will improve in every area.
So, you may be asking the question, “What do I need to do to treat myself right this year Coach Ricardo?” I’m so glad you asked!
1. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. This is the first step you have to take if you’re going to treat yourself right. You’ve got to learn how to take care of yourself. Your life won’t get better until you become better. Read my blog HERE where I offered practical self-care tips.
2. DO WHAT YOU KNOW IS RIGHT. It’s not enough to know what to do. You have to do what you know is right to do. Your life will start improving once you begin to apply the information you already know.
3. FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS. It is time for you to stop procrastinating and start following your dreams. Life has significant meaning for a person who is in pursuit of accomplishing something bigger than their current position.
4. FORGIVE THOSE WHO HAVE WRONGED YOU. Someone has wronged and you’ve got to learn how to let it go. Improving your life requires you not to carry baggage from your past into your future. Unforgiveness hinders our ability enjoy our progress and growth in life.
5. FIGHT THROUGH YOUR FAILURES. In the words of John C. Maxwell, “You’ve got to decide to fail forward.” The areas in your life where you have failed, you have to make the decision to not allow these failures to define you as a failure. Fight past the moments in your life where you did not do well on your journey. Continue embracing the possibilities of a life where you are winning in every area.
You’ve got some work to do! If you would take responsibility for your life, decide now to do the work, everything about your life can change for the better. I’m praying for you and believing you’re going to allow 2021 to be your year for winning in every area.

Get Used to Letting People Down
I truly believe what the Bible teaches us to do, is to try our best to live peaceably with everyone. However, once you discover some people cannot be pleased, it will liberate you to learn how to accept that and not allow it to cost you more pain and misery on your journey to living life effectively.
As your Effective Living Life Management Coach, I need you to accept this truth: you’re never going to be able to please everyone.
It’s nice to be liked. However, it cannot come at the expense of your values, joy, or peace, nor drive you to burnout. Your goal in life is to live life effectively. You have to come to the conclusion you will not be able to please everyone.
Please don’t even try to please everyone!
Don’t let anyone else’s opinion of you or your life impact what you do with you or your life. Let me say it again…you’re never going to be able to please everyone, so there is really no point in trying. Do what makes you happy.
Find balance in dealing with people!! Not everyone is going to like you… and that’s okay!
- Know who you are,
- What you believe in,
- What’s important to you.
If people don’t like you for who you are, don't take it personal. Who you are won't be liked by everyone. Watch my short talk HERE where I talk about this.
The faster you understand how not to become overwhelmed by the reality that you can’t please everyone you will be positioning yourself for a happier life this year.
No matter what you do or say, it is going to inevitably upset someone. You're never going to be able to please everyone, so you're better off doing what feels right for you and not apologizing for it.
Get used to letting people down. You can't please everyone. If you struggle with being a people pleaser, this week’s blog is going to challenge you. If you want to be free, accept the truth I’ve shared with you.
You are on a journey to living life effectively. If you need help in this area of being okay with not being able to please everyone, Chapter 1 and 3 of my book, Effective Living: Your Guide to Creating a Life You Don’t Need to Take a Vacation From , will help. I also encourage you to consider my group coaching.
Remember, our theme this year is #winning. We are winning in every area of our lives.

Fall In Love With the Process and Not Just the Goal
I want you to start to capture the importance of enjoying what you do. There are millions of people who are passionately going after something without understanding the importance of making the journey an enjoyable one.
I often remind my coaching clients to rely on your wins for motivation, in addition to falling in love with the process as much as they can. I absolutely love it when people are motivated and have discovered how to enjoy what they do from the inside out.
Think about it. Fall in love with the journey of getting where you want to be. When you appreciate the process, that’s when the success comes. Anyone can work hard when they feel motivated. It's the ability to keep going when work isn't exciting that makes the difference.
To stay consistent, you have to fall in love with boredom. The goal is not the goal; the goal is the process . So once again, fall in love with the process of becoming your highest self on a daily basis.
I want you to think about the words I’m sharing with you in this week’s blog. Remember as you fall in love with the process, the process will love you back! Don’t just commit to the process. Fall in love with it! Find joy in it.
As a life management coach, I teach my clients you have to accept that achieving any goal is going to be hard work. There are going to be sacrifices! Don’t look for instant gratification. Work for it and earn it. In the midst of all of the hard work to accomplish what you are desiring discover the power and benefits of falling in love with the process.
This is truly a difference maker when it comes to living life effectively. Remember, Effective Living is a journey, not a destination. Go to the next level of your journey by creating a culture where what you do, you fully enjoy doing.

Why Are You Not Focused?
What is your WHY? When you become focused, your why will help to reinforce your commitment to stay on track on your journey.
You’re not going to stay committed to the thing you have been called to do if you don’t understand your why. I teach my coaching clients it all starts with the WHY!
Once the why is established, you can then evaluate and assess where you are and what you need to do in order to develop a healthy laser-focused mentality.
The following questions are a guide to answer why you are not focused.
Is it that you simply don’t have something to focus on?
Is it the elephant in the room that you’ve been ignoring?
Is it that you’re simply tired and need a break?
Is it that you are a procrastinator and that has been robbing you?
Is it that you simply don’t know where to start and are afraid to ask for help?
Is it that you are too busy to focus on the main things that matter the most?
Is it that you quit before you can even give yourself time to really focus on finishing anything?
Doing a self-evaluation and answering these questions can help you develop a more focus-driven lifestyle. It's not difficult to find the find the root cause of why you're struggling to focus! You’ve got to ask yourself the hard questions and be prepared to give the honest answers.
There’s so much you can accomplish within this year, but you have to identify what’s keeping you from doing what you need to do, to get to where you’re trying to go.
We know ourselves well enough to know when we’re either mentally, physically, or emotionally exhausted or just having a plain, downright, lazy day. Don’t be in denial. Knowing yourself and being honest with yourself should help you.
Whenever possible eliminate distractions. Don’t be afraid to get professional help. Remember someone is assigned to help you. Do what you’ve never done before to get what you need to get out of this year.
If you’re struggling mentally or emotionally book a session with an online counselor to give you the right tools to cope with your situation. If you’re physically exhausted, or even just being lazy, take the day off and rest.
Contact our office to enroll in one-on-one coaching to help you out. You can also get a health coach, a financial planner, or spiritual advisor to help you with bringing your life into alignment.
In the words of Dr. Mike Murdock, “One reason most men fail is because of broken focus.”
There will be limited success where there is no high level of focus!
In the 1st chapter of my book, Effective Living: Your Guide to Creating a Life You Don’t Need to Take a Vacation From, I delve much deeper into answering the WHY. Purchase your copy today.

Get Rid of Toxic People
Often we mix and mingle with toxic people and don’t even realize it. These are the kind of people you don’t need when restarting your life. This new year has so much to offer you and it is important you evaluate and assess the people around you.
It’s 2021. You need a tribe that will back you up, support you, and encourage you. This year will have unexpected things come up as you pursue maximizing your potential. You need people who will be an asset and not a liability to your potential.
Decide now you are not going to waste your time with people who see negativity in every situation. Don’t waste your time with those who constantly criticize you and bring you down for trying to make something happen with your life.
If you’ve been following my platform for any amount of time, you know that I teach days are expensive. I believe a new year is an opportunity to begin again. There is no need for you to be surrounded by people who only have negative energy to contribute to your environment.
Don’t misunderstand me. I’m not talking about people in our lives who give us constructive criticism. I genuinely believe constructive criticism is great, but you will know when it comes from a place of love and respect.
This year I also need you to learn how to avoid people who play the victim role beautifully. Avoid people who are jealous, who waste your time, or are always disappointing you. Pay attention to the people who around you. Study everyone in your life.
It’s a known fact that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with.
Toxic people are everywhere! Whenever you identify those people, it’s often best to make a clean break and move on.
Invest your time in those who bring you joy and lift you up, rather than those who bring you down or are happy when you fail. This new year can be your best year but, you’re going to have to be very intentional about who you surround yourself with.
You need to make a list of everyone in your life and what they provide for you. It’s going to take some work, but the reward is going to be extremely beneficial to you on your way to living life effectively.
This is a hard list to make but you need to determine who is a benefit to your life and who is a detriment to your life.
This year you’ve got to make the decision you will not make excuses for people who need to be removed out of your life. To live life effectively you’re going to have to be able to make tough decisions that will be beneficial for your health, peace of mind and overall potential.
Tonight, January 4, we’re hosting the first night of our webinar, BUILD YOUR BEST YEAR. Over the next two nights we’re going to be strategically assisting those who desire to get the most out of this year.
There’s still time for you to register. Go to www.ricardomiller.com/store and register to learn more about how to manage your life in regard to working well with people on your way to effective living.
