The Magician (Reversed) | Tarot Card of the Day
If the Magician appears reversed, he calls your attention to thoughts that feel out of control. The Magician teaches "As above, so below," meaning that your inner beliefs about yourself shape the reality you are experiencing. The reality that you see in front of you can be changed...but you have to take ownership of your thoughts and beliefs about yourself. The Magician (upright or reversed) is a messenger from your higher self. The message is that you can change what you are experiencing by altering how you think about your current circumstances, and your power over them. Are the hidden beliefs uplifting and empowering... or fearful and self-sabotaging? Remember, your thoughts are like magic spells. They create your life experiences.
The reversed Magician asks you to reflect deeply upon your thoughts. By consciously shifting your thought patterns and confronting any limiting beliefs, you can manifest the life you truly desire. Harness the power of the Magician within to transform negative thought patterns into positive affirmations, and witness how your reality begins to change in alignment with your intentions.

YouTube Tarot Card Meaning for The Magician (Reversed)
Think the thought. Does it make you feel tight, anxious, worthless or afraid? To throw out negative thoughts, stop yourself when you are having them. Think the thought. Does it make you feel tight, anxious, worthless or afraid? If it does, tell that thought “You are garbage, and I’m taking out the trash. I don’t need you anymore. You aren’t true and I’m better than this.” Then shift your thoughts to something beautiful about yourself, or your life. Acknowledge a hard-fought achievement you’ve made. Have a few thoughts handy that always make you comfy and smile to shift gears (baby elephants, funny moments I remember, or the way sunlight illuminates green leaves on lush trees do it for me every time). When the Magician appears reversed, he calls you to reassert power over some aspect of your life that feels out of control.
The Magician reversed encourages you to clean out your mental attic. It’s time to throw away the clutter that appears in the form of negative, self-limiting thoughts that make you feel powerless and small. You are so much more powerful than you think! If you want proof, just look back at all the challenges you have overcome without giving up. Make sure that your thoughts are supporting a positive, empowered, and self-confident mindset.
You are the Magician of your life. Be mindful of what spells you are casting.
Each of us is a magician, and our predominant thoughts are the magic spells that produce the life we are experiencing. All the situations you see in front of you can be changed, but first you must change where your mind is fixated. The Magician is in complete control of his environment. He represents the power of your mind's focus, which creates the reality you are living in.
The Magician stands before his altar. Before him are four objects: a cup, a pentacle, a sword and a wand. Each represent the different elements of his external environment: his emotional life, monetary life, predominate thoughts and his ambitions. The Magician has the power to move the objects on the altar any way he chooses. This symbolizes your ability to affect your external environment by choosing to focus your thoughts and intentions. The Magician’s white wand is raised high, channeling his best self. When you are channeling your best self, you can also manifest marvelous things, as if by magic.
The best self is the part of you that feels limitless. When your mind is attuned to your best self you will notice that you feel energized, motivated and confident. You feel fearless and believe in your own talents and abilities. Unfortunately, we live in a society that borages us with images of how we really don't measure up. This affects our unconscious mind, which will run on autopilot until it is challenged. Once self-doubt takes the megaphone, your best self can feel all but drowned out. If your predominant thoughts are: "I'm too fat." "I'm not good enough." "I can't do this." "I don't know how to make this work." "Guess that just life." "I'm a fraud." "I know I won't succeed at this anyway."..........then you are not hearing your best self.
To reconnect with you best-self, remember a time in your life when you felt powerful and limitless. Remember when you felt at your best. Recall when you stood up and did the difficult thing to do. Hold that powerful and joyful feeling. That person in your memory is still you. No matter what’s transpired, this is your true essence. Remember yourself and look at your situation through that person’s eyes.
When the Magician appears, you must take responsibility for where you allow your mind to dwell. It's totally controlling your reality!Challenge negative thoughts instead of letting them run on autopilot. Set a timer to go off at two-hour intervals today. When the alarm goes off pay attention to what your thoughts are randomly focused on. If your focus is on the negative, place it instead on something that makes you feel good. You can make your life so different, if you just change your mind to do so.
The Magician (Reversed) in a Love ReadingNew RelationshipThe Magician reversed is a charmer. This card can warn of flattery, trickery, or words that just don’t add up. If what he is saying sounds too good to be true, it probably is. The Magician reversed can also represent an uncontrollable flirt. If you are possessive, you may get frustrated by his shameless glances at the attractive server or bistro.
Long Term PartnershipThe Magician reversed can highlight communication problems in a relationship. This card can also represent a partner who is using passive aggressive behavior to get their point across. When the Magician appears reversed, be direct, clear, and honest without abandoning kindness or the ability to listen.
Seeking RomanceThe Magician reversed can represent an individual who enjoys being single for now. This could lead to hard feelings if this person glibly expressed an interest in forming a deeper connection. This card can also represent self-improvements you are making, that are hard to stay committed to. Keep your word with yourself.

King of Cups (Reversed) | Tarot Card of the Day
King of Cups (Reversed) | Tarot Card
When the King of Cups appears reversed, he advises you to stay calm despite stormy seas.As you can see, the King is surrounded by waters making great waves. Water signifies feelings in the tarot, and reversed cups cards can indicate an intensification of emotional turmoil. The King of Cups is seated on a firm stone platform, unaffected by the swirling waves around him. This indicates that the King can remain centered when situations that elicit strong emotional reactions.
The reversed King suggests a potential imbalance or a need for greater emotional control. It's a reminder to not let emotions take the wheel, but rather to process them with introspection. While it's natural to experience intense feelings, it's crucial to respond rather than react. Emotions can be our guides, offering insights into our deeper self. By acknowledging and understanding them, we can navigate life's complexities with wisdom and grace. It might also be beneficial to seek guidance or counseling when navigating particularly turbulent emotional waters.

King of Cups (Reversed) 🌊👑 for September 11 | Daily Tarot Reading/Card of the Day | Elliot Oracle

YouTube video for the King of Cups (Reversed) | Tarot Card of the Day by Elliot Oracle
Are you sometimes so ruled by negative past emotions that you are left feeling sad, unmotivated, and depressed? Are you comfortable in your skin right now? Were you taught sensitivity makes one weak?
The King of Cups is the epitome of emotional intelligence and stability. He is a wise counselor and a trusted confidant. He understands the power of empathy and compassion, and uses them to help others navigate their emotions. He is often a role model for others on how to handle their feelings and relationships.
The King of Cups is a reminder that emotions are a valuable source of power and energy, but they must be handled with care. Like the ocean, they can be unpredictable and dangerous if left unchecked. The King teaches us to channel our emotions towards positive results and to stay in control of our feelings.
The whale and the ship in the background of the King's card represent the ability to access deep memories and to invent solutions to overcome emotional barriers. The King encourages us to face our past traumas and to make peace with them, so we can move forward with clarity and purpose. By forgiving ourselves and others, we can release the negative emotions that hold us back and embrace a more positive and productive mindset.
Your environment has the power to unconsciously affect your mood and self-esteem.The King of Cups is also associated with the astrological sign of Cancer, which is concerned with home. If you wish to reclaim stability amid stormy waters, get your own house in order (literally and figuratively). Throw out things you don't need anymore. Remove clutter. The more you clean out your personal environment, the less heavy and stressed you will feel internally. You may also see external conditions improve. If you have a stable base of operations where you feel centered, you can handle any waves headed your way.
The King of Cups (Reversed) in a Love Reading:New RelationshipThe King of Cups reversed can represent someone who appears adrift in life. He (or she) is not anchored to a particular person, purpose, or place. This can be difficult because the King of Cups, (upright or reversed) can connect powerfully with others without even trying. You may want to “rescue” this person, but he will only swim to shore when he is ready.
Long Term PartnershipThe King of Cups reversed can represent an emotionally brooding partner. He may keep replaying a past slight in head over and over, constantly surrendering himself to the raging storms of his past. Time may not heal all wounds, but it will lessen their sting. The King of Cups reversed has a hard time letting the past go.
Seeking RomanceIf you are single, the King of Cups reversed advises you to remain anchored during emotionally tempestuous times. Shelter your heart in environments that feel safest and most supported. Although you may feel like your heart may never open again, this is an illusion. The storm will pass, and the seas will be calm once more.

The Devil (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day
The Devil (Upright) | Tarot Card
Nobody likes to confront the Devil. The Devil can be a jarring image to confront. This is because he represents our shadow self.... the inner-saboteur. This is the insidious voice within that tells us that we aren't worthy, that we can't be successful, that we are stuck with our lot. Often this voice pipes up, just before we are about to make a huge breakthrough. This voice comes as a final test, to see if we what we really believe about ourselves. The Devil is known by many names but by far the most fitting is the Prince of Lies. The biggest lie the Devil tells is that he is more powerful than we are. Each day you have a choice.... To believe the voice that tells you that you are garbage........ or to hear your better angels, who remind you that you are worthy.
Facing the Devil is never an easy task, as it means confronting our deepest fears, insecurities, and self-doubts. However, by acknowledging this shadow self, we can embark on the transformative journey of self-awareness and growth. Real power comes not from denying or hiding from our darker aspects, but from accepting and integrating them, making us more complete and balanced individuals.
When The Devil is understood, it can instead be a beacon of empowerment. It reminds us that we always have the power to break free from any chains that bind us, be it old habits, toxic relationships, or self-doubt. Recognizing the Devil's influence in our lives gives us the clarity to reject his deceptions and choose the path of light. By facing our inner demons head-on, we reclaim our strength and write our own destiny.

The Devil (Upright) 😈🔗 for September 6 | Daily Tarot Reading/Card of the Day | Elliot Oracle

YouTube | The Devil (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day
How does your shadow manifest in your life?Do you struggle with self-esteem? Do you feel trapped in a situation that feels beyond your control?
When you look at the image of the Devil card, you can see a man and a woman chained to his throne. They are a "corrupted" version of the innocent and pure image of the man and woman that appear on the Lovers card. They sport horns and tails...symbolizing their enslavement to the animal parts of their nature. The animal nature is only concerned with survival and protection of itself. It is not enlightened, and manifests in the form of fear, excess, jealousy, anger, hatred, unforgiveness, and the pursuit of personal comfort over all else.
When the Devil appears, this symbol calls your attention to the self-limiting thoughts and behaviors that are keeping you imprisoned.Look closer at the figures chained to the Devil's throne. The chains they wear are quite loose. In fact, they could step out of them at any time. This shows that despite the fearful size of the Devil, one can be free of him whenever they choose. You can be free at any time, but you must stop "rationalizing" these behaviors away and confront them honestly. The Devil highlights any untruths you may be telling yourself, which are keeping you from being the best version of yourself. You are more powerful than your inner shadow. The shadow is real, but you are more powerful.
The best way to defeat shadows is to embody love. Be loving to yourself and to others. Don't get hooked into defending yourself in the face of someone else's shadow. Lovingly help someone else. Be of service. Be kinder. If you are feeling fear, help someone else feel braver. Challenge the lie that you are stuck. Send light and love to those people you can't quite seem to forgive. "Unhook" yourself from the Devil's chains.
By embodying your better angels, the Devil will lose all power.
The Devil in a Love ReadingNew RelationshipThe Devil can signify a smooth talker whose slippery words are too good to be true. Your instincts are likely warning you, though you may try to rationalize them away. Follow your common sense, rather than hopes or desires. Unfortunately, people with low self-esteem who are desperate for love, get suckered by the Devil all the time.
Long Term PartnershipThe Devil can highlight a destructive relationship pattern that must be faced honestly. It’s time to bring this issue to light, honestly. Destructive cycles are broken when something is done about them, not avoided. Seek out appropriate, caring professionals for added support. The Devil can also represent a partner who struggles with addiction.
IntimacyHands down, the Devil archetype could give you the best sex you’ve ever had. If you’ve been without passion or attention for a while, the Devil will hit your system like an intoxicating drug. However, beware of becoming addicted to a person who dangles you along. Great sex does not equate to true love.
Seeking RomanceIf you are single, the Devil represents repeated destructive patterns it’s time to break free of. You must remain vigilant against the manipulative intentions of people who could prey on your vulnerability. Don’t repeat the destructive cycles of the past. Know your triggers and what deceptions you are susceptible to.

The Moon (Reversed) | Tarot Card of the Day
The Moon (Reversed) | Tarot Card
When the Moon appears reversed, it indicates that you may have been neglecting your deeper instincts.More recently, you may have had to conform to the demands of the external world to survive. This is necessary to function in the world, but not at the expense of your deeper feelings and instincts. The Moon reversed calls you back to your instinctual self. It's time to ask yourself how you really feel. It's time to reconnect with the natural world, with magic. with the changing seasons, and with your deeper wisdom.
The reversed Moon serves as a beacon, illuminating the hidden corners of our subconscious. It asks us to dive into the shadowy waters of our emotions, to face the suppressed feelings and instincts that we've pushed aside. These feelings, though they might be uncomfortable, hold the key to our true self, the self that exists beyond societal norms and expectations.
The Moon reversed also reminds us of the cyclical nature of life. Just as the phases of the moon ebb and flow, our emotions and instincts also have their cycles. By honoring and listening to these inner rhythms, we can find balance and harmony. The card encourages us to release any fears or apprehensions and to embrace our intuition, guiding us towards self-discovery and spiritual growth.

The Moon (Reversed) 🌑🔮 for September 4 | Daily Tarot Reading/Card of the Day | Elliot Oracle

YouTube video on “The Moon (Reversed) | Tarot Card”
What color are your emotions today? Are they a healing blue, depressing grey, glowing pink, sunny yellow, or a mixture of greens? It's essential to be aware of our emotions, especially when feeling moody, as they can have a profound impact on our experience.
The Moon has a powerful influence on our instincts and unconscious emotions, shaping our perception of the world around us. If we are consumed by negativity, we will focus on the negative aspects of our environment, while a positive outlook will bring joy to even the bleakest situations. By checking in with our moods and feelings, we can better understand how they color our perception of the world.
The Moon card depicts a wolf and a domesticated dog howling at the Moon, representing our primitive and civilized selves, both subject to the mysterious and irrational forces of nature. Similarly, the lobster pulled from its lair by the Moon's power symbolizes our innate vulnerability, even when wearing armor to protect ourselves.
The Moon's gravitational pull affects not only the tides but also our bodies, composed of 65% water. Thus, when the Moon appears, it's an invitation to listen to our instincts and intuition, reconnect with our magical selves, and let our deeper wisdom emerge. Trusting our feelings and hunches can lead to valuable insights and guide us through any challenge.
In a rational world, we often forget our nature and instincts, but they are integral to who we are. Sometimes, there is no logical explanation for things, and tuning into the undercurrents that shape our realities is essential. The Moon card reminds us to embrace our depth and intuition, allowing them to guide us through life's mysteries.
When the Moon appears reversed, it also can indicate a time when mysterious forces are working through the undercurrents of your life. When your instincts are neglected, they begin to act up. In Latin the Moon is called la Luna…where we get the word lunatic from! Neglected instincts will begin to make you feel crazy. The Moon reversed can signify illusions created from unresolved feelings. If you have felt unlucky, or if you are imagining terrible things or feel psychically lost the Moon reversed is asking you to look deeper into yourself and to feel something that is trying to emerge. If you keep encountering the same cycle or problem in the external world, the reason could be rooted with something that you need to resolve within. The other cards that appear around the reversed Moon card can give you a glimpse into what those unresolved feelings are about.
Be open to magic and listen to your deepest hunches. This could be a time where doorways begin to open, and creative potential that was beneath the surface suddenly emerges. Most importantly, trust the voice of your intuition. You unconsciously know more than you think you do. Your instincts will guide you toward the right action every time, but only if you are attuned to them.
The Moon (Reversed) in a Love Reading:New RelationshipMoon reversed can describe a deep connection that erratically changes with no explanation. Although behaviors constantly shift and change, a cycle may be revealed in time. The Moon reversed can represent a relationship that is founded upon illusions. Although spellbinding, you must be honest about its less attractive realities.
Long Term PartnershipA Moon reversed personality may behave irrationally or display excessive moodiness. The shadow of the Moon is often expressed by one partner being in a state of denial about a glaring issue. They may have difficulty facing facts or taking responsibility for their behavior.
Seeking RomanceThe Moon reversed can signify you’ve been powerfully imprinted by a past emotional attachment. This connection is replayed in your mind, over and over. Although you may say you are looking for someone new, others may unconsciously perceive that your heart is already occupied. Past attachments may need time to dissolve before new bonds can be established.

Nine of Wands (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day
Nine of Wands (Upright) | Tarot Card
The Nine of Wands illustrates that you win at the game of life each time you have courage and stand up for yourself. This can mean creating boundaries with others who want to control you or take you down a peg. It can also mean confronting your own self-limiting attitudes and expectations. The Nine of Wands symbolizes that a personal victory is achieved each time you stand up for your dignity, worthiness, and self-respect.
The journey of the Nine of Wands is a testament to resilience and tenacity. Often, it's not the significant battles that wear us down but the constant skirmishes and small challenges that we face daily. This card serves as a powerful affirmation that even in the face of numerous obstacles, our strength and determination can help us persevere and prevail.
The Nine of Wands shines as an emblem of determination. It’s a reminder that every challenge faced, no matter how small, shapes our character and refines our spirit. The scars and experiences we accumulate are not mere markers of past battles, but badges of honor that testify to our resilience, willpower, and unwavering spirit. As we move forward, the Nine of Wands beckons us to hold our ground, establish our boundaries, and stand tall with pride and confidence.

Nine of Wands (Upright) 🛡️🔥 for August 31 | Daily Tarot Reading/Card of the Day | Elliot Oracle

YouTube video for the Nine of Wands (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day
Do you have trouble standing up for yourself because you fear creating conflict? Is it difficult for you to feel proud of your strengths and accomplishments? Are you looking for the acceptance of others for validation of your worth? Is your greatest adversary the sabotaging voice in your own head?
The man on the card looks like Sylvester Stallone at the end of “Rocky.” He has stood up and defended himself against all comers for twelve rounds. He is bandaged, showing that it wasn’t easy, and he endured a few blows. He has created a boundary with the eight wands standing behind him. He is ready stand up for that boundary. Each wand he has acquired was hard won, and is a trophy proving his accomplishment. He is bumped and bruised but he is still standing. He is standing up for his honor. He is standing up for his achievements and his worth. Nothing is going to take him down. He has too much dignity to allow that to happen. He sees the proof of his worth.
The Nine of Wands represents having pride in yourself; not the sort that lashes out to defend a wounded ego. This sort of pride is the dignity one feels in building their own world, with blood, sweat, and tears. Be proud of the scars that life sent you in the past. They made you a survivor.
Even though things may have not have always come easy up until now, the school of hard knocks has made you formidable. The only possible opponent left to defeat may be coming from within. Stand up to the shadow voice within that tells you aren’t smart enough, talented enough, good enough, successful enough, thin enough, or strong enough.
This card appears when it is time to place boundaries up for the protection of all you’ve worked for. Perhaps it’s time to stop meekly saying “yes” when your heart is screaming “NO!” It is okay to go against the expectations of others by being honest. It’s time to stand up to bullies in the outside world, and more importantly within your own head. Embrace the part of you that is strong and stand up for what you know is right.
Be honest and clear with yourself and others. If you do you will win.
Nine of Wands in a Love ReadingNew RelationshipThe Nine of Wands can symbolize a new love interest who carries emotional baggage from the past. This person is likely recovering from an emotional injury that shattered their old reality. It may be difficult to truly get close to this person if they haven’t made peace with a past heartbreak or betrayal. It will take time to gain their trust.
Long Term PartnershipThe Nine of Wands can symbolize old grievances that have accumulated over time in a relationship. One partner may use passive aggressive communication to mask hidden pain. Open a dialogue without rushing to defend your own vulnerabilities. This card can also signify a resilient relationship that has weathered many storms.
Seeking RomanceIf you are single, the Nine of Wands can indicate that you are still healing from an old relationship wound. You may be giving off the impression that you are uninterested, or that people should keep their distance. Watch out for coming across as jaded, unhappy, or overly sarcastic. Toxic vibes are love repellent.

Ten of Swords (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day
Ten of Swords (Upright) | Tarot Card
When the Ten of Swords appears in a reading, it is a powerful reminder that we must confront our fears and face the consequences of our actions.Help! The Ten of Swords looks scary! Are we all going to die?!
Absolutely not! The Tarot has done it again, using potent symbolism to get us to wake up and pay attention to something very important.
The man on the card is face down. All the swords are in his back. Whatever "got him" was chasing him from behind. He was running away. The swords in his back symbolize his irrational fears. They finally caught up with him. But look closer. In his last moment, he finally learned to surrender. This is symbolized by his right hand opening to Spirit.
In traditional Rider-Waite tarot symbolism, the Ten of Swords represents the culmination of a difficult journey. It is a card of surrender and acceptance, urging us to stop avoiding our fears and face them head-on. The image of the man with the swords in his back portrays the consequences of allowing irrational fears to control our lives. However, this card also carries a message of transformation and release. The act of surrendering and opening ourselves to a higher power allows us to transcend our fears and find peace within.
The Ten of Swords serves as a powerful reminder that running away from our fears only prolongs our suffering. It invites us to confront our fears with courage and embrace the opportunity for healing and growth. By acknowledging our vulnerabilities and surrendering to the process, we can release the self-destructive patterns that have been holding us back. This card teaches us that through surrender, we can find a deeper connection with our spiritual selves and experience profound transformation.
The horizon in the background of the card suggests that after every dark night, there's a dawn waiting to embrace us. This dawn symbolizes hope, renewal, and a fresh start. Thus, the Ten of Swords is not just about ending but also about new beginnings. The pain and trials we experience are part of our growth, leading us to enlightenment and understanding. As we traverse the journey of life, the Ten of Swords invites us to trust the process, knowing that with every ending comes the promise of a new dawn.

Ten of Swords (Upright) ⚔️🌅 for August 30 | Daily Tarot Reading/Card of the Day | Elliot Oracle

YouTube video for the Ten of Swords (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day by Elliot Oracle
What fears are you constantly trying to keep ahead of?Is your day filled with thoughts of terrible things that might happen? Do you try to just "keep busy" so you don't have to face the source of your unease?
Ignoring fear is the same as running from it. It's still there. Lurking about as usual. Often the thing we fear (horrible illnesses, death, poverty, loss) is a distraction from going deeper and listening to our inner spirit. Spirit does not want suffering for you. But the only way to be free from needless suffering is to surrender. You aren't surrendering to fear, you are surrendering the fear. Surrender to feeling the fear and then letting it go.
The Ten of Swords may seem scary, but it is actually a powerful symbol of transformation and rebirth. The man on the card is not dead, but rather, he is letting go of his old self and embracing a new way of being. The swords in his back represent the pain and suffering that he has experienced, but they are also a reminder that he has the power to rise above it all.
If you are facing a difficult situation or struggling with fear and anxiety, the Ten of Swords is a powerful reminder that you have the strength and courage to overcome anything. It is time to let go of old patterns and beliefs that are holding you back and embrace a new way of being. Trust in the universe and know that a new beginning is on the horizon.
The Ten of Swords asks that you turn around and face the fears that have been chasing you.Tell the fear, "I'm not running from you today." Give yourself five minutes to feel all the scary things fear is trying spook you with (illness, aloneness, poverty, loss, failure). Set a timer. When the alarm goes off, that's it. The fear doesn’t get any more of your energy today, it’s already taken five valuable minutes. Let go of amorphous fears and enjoy something about being alive at this moment. Focus on the colors around you. Witness something beautiful. Fear is like the dog that chases the car. When the car stops, the dog doesn't know what to do. Fear thrives when you ruminate. Switch mental gears. Reach out to a trusted loved one. Speak your fear aloud. Sometimes speaking the fear to someone who supports you is the first step to truly letting it go. Take your fears out of the shadows and into the light.
A wise teacher of mine, Nancy Retzlaff, used to have a saying on her dresser that she looked at every morning:
"This is God. I will be handling all your problems today. I won't need any of your help so enjoy your day."
Enjoy your day!
Ten of Swords in a Love ReadingNew RelationshipThe Ten of Swords can highlight a major ending that either you or your new love interest is still reeling from. Try not to rush forward if time is still required for healing or resolution. A healthy new relationship can only take root if past issues are confronted and resolved. This card can also alert you if you are falling into a self-sabotaging past cycle with a new relationship.
Long Term PartnershipThe Ten of Swords can represent a difficult issue that may feel more comfortable to avoid than talk about. Sometimes, this card signifies a painful breakup. You may feel “stabbed in the back” by the heartless behavior of someone you thought you could trust. Stop investing your entire self into an unsustainable relationship. It’s time to leave betrayal behind.
Seeking RomanceIf you are single, you may be struggling to release expectations of disappointment or defeat. The storm has passed and it’s time to pick up the pieces. A positive new beginning will occur when you truly move on from the past. This card will also warn you to avoid committing to a partner who causes you pain.

Five of Cups (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day
Five of Cups (Upright) | Tarot Card
The Five of Cups symbolizes the trance-like state of focusing only on the negative, even when all is not lost. The figure on the card gloomily stares at three spilled cups. He fails to notice the two perfectly upright cups still standing behind him. Behind the two standing cups is a bridge. This bridge symbolizes that the way over your obstacle will be made clear when you focus on what is working and what is positive in your life. This card also reveals that just because everything in your life isn’t perfect, doesn’t mean that you need to feel bad about it all day.... month...........year...................decade!
The Five of Cups is a clear message about perspective. It's easy to become consumed with regret, disappointment, or grief, but it's essential to recognize that not all is lost. Life has its ebbs and flows, and sometimes we need a gentle nudge to shift our attention. While it's okay to mourn our losses, it's equally important to cherish what remains. Don't let past disappointments cloud your vision of the potential that the future holds. Embrace the silver lining, look around for blessings in disguise, and remember to cross that bridge when you come to it. After all, new opportunities often arise from past challenges.

Is it difficult to see all the blessings you have because you can't stop focusing on the negative?Does your mind ever feel hypnotized with problems? Does ruminating rob you of countless hours in your day?
If you’ve ever experienced this sort of hypnotism you know it seems very difficult to snap out of. It usually occurs when the mind is idle. "An idle mind is the Devil's workshop," or so the saying goes. If you are traditionally a problem solver, it can be difficult to be at peace when there is no task to do. The mind immediately shuffles through its memory banks to drudge up something that we should have anxiety about. Then the mind says “Here’s a doozy! Remember this horrible time? What if it happens again?” The trance begins, and soon twenty minutes have gone by, leaving you feeling hopeless about yourself and your prospects.
A nice strategy for shifting focus from negative thoughts is to remember the details of your favorite place. This may be a park you visit, or a particularly beautiful place you traveled to. What is your happiest memory of a place? Close your eyes and remember each of the details of the place. The sounds, sights, smells and sensations of being there. When the anxiety interjects just keep seeking the details of the place. Details are key.
When the Five of Cups appears in a reading, it is often a sign to snap out of any negative emotions or feelings of loss and move on with life.If you’ve ever seen the television program “The Dog Whisperer,” the host Cesar Millan is asked to fix the behavioral problems of dogs. The dogs “get stuck” mentally on behaviors like barking at the mailman, dragging the owners on a leash, chewing things, etc. There is a visible shift in the dog’s body language the moment it transitions from being at peace to getting stuck on the negative behavior. Cesar Milan watches for this shift and makes a sharp “SSSSKK!” sound. This breaks the dog’s trance, allowing it to refocus on a positive behavior instead.
If dogs can snap out of trance you can too! However, you need to catch yourself as you’re slipping into it. When we were children and started pouting, our guardians (hopefully) snapped us out of it. As adults we must step in on our own behalf. If you slip into negative ruminating you must redirect your thoughts.
I think of a river I used to visit. I remember how the sound of its rushing waves took my anxieties with them. I remember the beautiful light that sparkled over her surface like a thousand diamonds. I remember the feel of the large cool rock I sat on. I recall the majestic blue herons that flew overhead, and the deer that came to drink the clear waters at dusk. I remember feeling completely relaxed and at peace. These were my calmest days of my youthful summer.
There! I snapped out of the negative trance! Now quick give me something constructive to focus on! Perhaps all the things that I can do, and that are still possible. Snapping out of negative trance gives you the opportunity to do something constructive toward your future.
Today shift your focus to break trances when they start. The more positive details you can remember the better you’ll feel. Ruminating doesn't help anyone solve anything, so knock it off! Place your focus on something that makes you happy or restores your faith in yourself instead.
You deserve to enjoy goodness in life, even when everything isn't perfect.
The Five of Cups in a Love ReadingNew RelationshipThe Five of Cups can symbolize a person who continually disappoints you. They may keep you waiting or not keep their word. People will usually show you their “best” at the beginning of a relationship. If you are feeling more sad than happy at the start of this partnership, then it’s not a good sign for the future. This card can also signify a person who suffers from depression.
Long Term PartnershipThe Five of Cups often indicates a disappointment. A loss for one or both partners must be accepted and grieved. This card can also represent two people who are stuck in an unhappy marriage. If this is the case, seek out support from a trusted source to ascertain if the union can be salvaged. There may still be hope.
Seeking RomanceThe Five of Cups can signify that you are still mourning a past relationship. Although you have experienced a sad loss, all is not lost. There are still many opportunities for joy in your future. Try not to unconsciously wallow in a past relationship. Engage in activities and friendships that encourage you to snap out of the trance of the past.
