This card tells you that you may be getting ahead of yourself. Are you lost in a trance of a future, full of grandiosity or calamities, that hasn't manifested yet? The man on the card is lost in his machinations for the future as well. The Lord of the manor on the card is not present. When reversed this card indicates that you may have to stop hoping, planning, wishing, dreading, or obsessing about a future that is not here yet. Worrying about events that have not yet transpired can rob you of peace in yourself in the moment.

Do you feel anxious or restless because you have not yet found your "life's purpose?"

The Two of Wands card symbolizes a feeling of lack in your life, as if something is missing and you would be happy if you just had that one thing. This sense of restlessness can be beneficial as it can motivate you to set goals and make positive changes in your life. However, the Two of Wands cautions that material achievements and possessions will not ultimately bring you happiness. While obtaining what you desire can feel good for a while, if you do not have genuine love for yourself, the achievement will eventually feel empty. Searching for happiness through external factors like money, relationships, or social status can be a futile and exhausting pursuit.

The image on the Two of Wands card shows a lord overlooking his estate, feeling restless and unfulfilled. He grew up in poverty and believed that wealth would bring him happiness. He learned to sail and became very successful, but still did not feel satisfied. He then thought that owning a castle would finally make him happy, but again, the feeling of restlessness returned. The man then set his sights on owning the entire world, convinced that this would bring him joy. However, it is unlikely that even possessing the entire world would have satisfied him.

Abraham Lincoln once said, "Folks are usually about as happy as they make up their minds to be." The Two of Wands teaches us that achieving external goals and accumulating possessions is not enough to bring happiness to a discontented heart. While money can make it easier to enjoy life, it cannot provide genuine joy.

The truth is that no accomplishment, person, appearance, or amount of money can "make" you happy if you do not already have self-love and joy within yourself. If you can find happiness and self-love at this moment, without achieving any external goals, you can free yourself from the endless pursuit of happiness through material possessions.

Today, try to let go of the belief that you need something external to make you happy. Remember that wherever you go, there you are.

Planning for the future is healthy and necessary but obsessing about it is not.

Give worrying about the future a rest. The truth is, the future that you are spending so much energy on planning to the minutest detail will probably not resemble your plan completely anyway. Like the lord of the manor on the card, you are surrounded by life's blessings right now, but you must remind yourself to stay present experience them. Nothing seems to ever go exactly according to plan in life. Nature has a way of breaking rules we try to impose. Do the task in front of you with excellence and let go of the worries that are out of your control.

Grandma Rose — a lifetime of love and laughter. ❤️

Hello friends… I’m reposting this from my IG to keep you in the loop about recent events and explain the recent sporadic uploads… I realized I hadn't shared this news on my website as I did on Instagram, and I'm sorry for that. I also want to share a bit of Rose's story with those who didn't know her. Thank you all for your support & understanding. ❤️

“I am sorry my posts in the last couple weeks have not been as consistent. My husband Jacob and I have been caregiving for his Grandmother Rose in Iowa. She had been in declining health this last year and I have been going back and forth with Jacob to try to nurse her to health. Sadly she just passed away this week and we are making arrangements. We were lucky to have her pass at home.

Rose was one of my best friends. She and her husband Harvey would visit me and cheer me up with casino visits, more than several beers and lots of laughs before I wrote my book and didn’t know where my life was heading. She was the first one to welcome me to the family after my “then boyfriend” and I were making things official almost 13 years ago.

Rose was a super funny, unique Aquarius who was never boring and loaded with charisma. Everybody howled with laughter around Rose. She wasn’t sentimental but was very effervescent. She taught me how to enjoy life without stressing about the small stuff.

I am heading back to Iowa for her celebration of life ceremony. I haven’t played my oboe in 3 years but was asked by the family to play “Over the Rainbow” for her. I got my oboe out of mothballs and started making reeds all week, only to discover how much I’ve been missing it, singing with it, and enjoying the detailed work an oboe reed requires. I never thought I’d play again… but like riding a bike it’s all coming back to me. 😊

I’m sorry to all of you that get great comfort from my weekly oracles and readings. I’ve had to cancel all my appointments and haven’t had time to make daily and weekly videos. I promise there will be some really great content for the New Year. I will be taking the week off from tarot and social media. Though I appreciate all the kind support this community has given me, I may not be able to respond to comments for now.

It's a time for laying strong foundations for the future and embracing our inner strength and resilience. 🏗️
 

Later in January, we transition into the innovative and forward-thinking energies of Aquarius . This air sign, known for its humanitarian spirit and originality, pushes us to think outside the box, embrace our uniqueness, and connect with the community. Ruled by Uranus, the planet of breakthroughs and sudden changes, Aquarius season inspires us to break free from old patterns and embrace new, progressive ideas.

What avoidance mechanism is holding up your success?

The Fool often appears reversed when we feel lost, confused, or like we are being pulled by an overwhelming life full of unknowns and uncertainties. What future “unknowable” feels scariest to you currently? What avoidance mechanism is holding up your success? The Fool is only a fool because of what he doesn't know. Anyone can gain more knowledge to solve any difficulty. When you challenge yourself to learn new things that are out of your comfort zone, you build self-esteem and become empowered.

The Fool reversed can also indicate a sense of “imposter-syndrome.” This is the fear that others will find out you don’t know everything about a position you hold, or a subject you are studying and therefore you must not belong. The fear that others will discover you aren’t somehow qualified is very common, even among the most successful people.
