Although communication and travel disruptions can be more prevalent during this period, this is also an ideal time for the “re’s” in your life. Review, redo, restore, release, rework, reinvent, etc. This is the ideal time to attend to whatever needs to be revamped in your life. The month also begins with the Sun in Aries , motivating us to leap into action and blaze new trails. This fire sign, governed by Mars—the planet of drive and determination—invites us to step into our courage. Aries season is all about taking the initiative, embodying bravery, and embarking on adventures. It's the perfect time to set your sights high and go after what you truly want with all your heart.

As the month progresses, we transition into the grounded and sensual energy of Taurus . This earth sign, ruled by Venus, the planet of love and beauty, encourages us to slow down, appreciate the finer things in life, and indulge in our senses. Taurus season calls for us to find stability, nurture our relationships, and focus on building lasting value in our lives. The King of Pentacles is among the favorite children of his mother the Empress. He alone has been entrusted with her golden scepter, which makes all things grow. The reason the Empress trusts the King of Pentacles is because he has proven himself to be patient, prepared and approaches his tasks with loving willingness. He also wears the armor of his father the Emperor and has built a stone wall around his abundant vineyard to protect his domain. The King of Pentacles has balanced both the masculine and the feminine principals within himself.

The King’s robes are covered with grapes. Grapes are notoriously fickle and need a lot of patience to cultivate. This is especially true when transforming the grapes into pleasure-bringing wine. The King of Pentacles has the perfect temperament for nurturing these magical berries. He is out in the vineyards long before the growing season, tending the soil, and preparing the vines for the coming harvests. His patience and skill have made him wealthy, as everyone wants to taste his magical brew. The King understands that to truly get success from life’s pursuits; you must enjoy them. You must appreciate your responsibilities, taking them up with gratitude for the security they will provide. All the King’s labors are undertaken with love for what he is doing. This ensures that as the grapes grow, they are infused with sweetness, not bitterness.

To achieve the success of the King of Pentacles you will need several things.

First, you need patience. Not every day is sunny. Be reminded that the rainy days contribute life-giving water. Anything of worth requires time to develop. This includes your goals, skills, and gifts. The grapes on the vine cannot be hurried and must be tended kindly and consistently.

Secondly, you need to prepare for the future. Establish your goals. Write them down. Break them up into achievable bits. This can bolster your sense of accomplishment.

Lastly, you need to approach what you are doing with love. Infuse your responsibilities with a willing and grateful heart. This will bring much better results than if your tasks are approached with resentment, fear, or worry. This attitude will also guarantee that the grapes you cultivate are “sweet grapes,” and not “grapes of wrath.”

The Strength card is a symbol of inner fortitude, which helps us prevail in the face of life’s challenges.

Strength is something that needs to be reinforced every day. Just as muscles need to be continuously used to maintain their power, so too does inner strength need to be habitually exercised. Every time you act in your own best interest despite your fears and inner weaknesses, you are developing strength. Strength is a choice. You can either buckle to what keeps you stuck and afraid, or you can choose excellence.

At what time in your life did you feel you were strongest?

Do you sometimes forget you are that same person? Do you need to get back on track by standing up to inner weaknesses which have been keeping you stuck and afraid?

The woman on this card does not sport bulging muscles, but she is the epitome of inner strength and confidence. The lion on the card represents her “lower” impulses, such as fear, anger, bad habits, belligerence, and other out of control behaviors. She confronts her lion by gently closing its mouth, thereby not allowing it to consume her. She loves the lion and it loves her too. You can see the lion licking her affectionately. Your higher self appreciates when you focus your passions constructively. The infinity symbol above the woman’s head shows she is eternally confronting the lion. Her strength is part of her now. It has been habitually reinforced, by confronting and overcoming weakness every day. The lion’s tail is between his legs, symbolizing submission to the part of you that knows best.

Strength is not manifested by large displays of power, but by gentle, compassionate, self-directed corrections in the form of good decisions.

Strength is also not just used once and then you’re done! It is a daily routine that becomes much easier with practice and time. It’s also important not to make self-corrections because of how “guilty” you feel. Inwardly directed corrections should come from a place of self-love and compassion, or they won’t work (later the lion will rebel and revert, if it has guilt or shame to latch on to).

You are more powerful than you may give yourself credit for. Human beings get stuck in ruts, and sometimes it feels that we can’t change something because we’ve been acting that way so long that it is just part of who we are. You are not anything/behavior that depletes your majesty! If a certain behavior has been running amok like a wild lion, and you feel it can’t be self-controlled, think again. Every day you have the power to be excellent. You have the choice to direct your own life or leave it to the shadows. Being strong in the face of your inner beast can feel difficult at first, but with continued positive action the lion is always tamed.

Commit to three choices you can make today to rein in the beast. This will affirm your strength.
