The Empress (Reversed) | Tarot Card of the Day

“Self-Nurture, Reflect on Neglected Aspects, and Reconnect with Your Inner Desires.”  If the Empress appears reversed, she gently asks you to consider which area of your life is feeling neglected.

The Empress represents love and nurturing, so if there is an area that feels abandoned, it is time to make it a priority. Ask yourself, “What have I been neglecting within myself?” Your instincts will probably be shouting the answer as you’re reading this. The Empress is a comforting card, upright or reversed. When reversed, she asks you to shower a neglected part of your life with your love, care and attention.

The Empress is the embodiment of divine feminine energy, nurturing, abundance, and creation. Reversed, she asks for introspection. Perhaps there's been an over-focus on work or external demands, at the expense of your personal needs and well-being. The Empress reversed calls for reconnection with nature, self-love, and balance. Like Mother Earth, we too need to care for ourselves, to regenerate, grow, and blossom. Allow this time to reconnect with your inner desires and passions, and take steps to nurture what truly matters in your life.

The Empress (Reversed) 🌾👑 | Tarot Card of the Day | August 27: Self-Nurture, Reflect on Neglected Aspects, and Reconnect with Your Inner Desires.

The Empress (Reversed) YouTube Video | Full breakdown

What have I been neglecting within myself?

The Empress is the mother archetype. When she appears reversed, she could be providing insight into your current situation through the lens of your own experience with your mother. Relationships with mothers are complicated but they always reveal interesting patterns. What behaviors did your mother-figure model when confronting similar situations? Sometimes this card brings healing to learned behaviors from parents. As an adult you get to choose which parental traits you wish to exemplify, and which are not working for this situation.

The Empress archetype has gone by many names throughout human history. She's appeared in every land and in every culture since the dawn of time. There have been many attempts throughout history to repress her, discredit her, or forget her completely. However, after every "Dark-Age" in human history she always reemerges with a gentle smile. The Empress appears today to tell you that there is something important in your life that needs to feel loved, nurtured, and protected to thrive. She advises you that self-love will be your strongest shield moving forward.

The Empress sits in her abundant garden. She looks kindly at you as you approach her throne. She wears the sparkling Crown of Twelve Stars, signifying her status as the eternal "Queen of Heaven." The crown symbolizes her ability to see "the big picture," or the eternal context of every situation. She sees the time before, the beginning, the middle, the end and the great beyond. Seeing situations in the context of the eternal is a great remedy for fear. It reminds us of just how small they are. The Empress reminds us we have so much more purpose in our existence than our fears would have us believe. The Crown of Twelve Stars reminds us of the months of the year, the signs of the zodiac, and represents all things growing at their appropriate time.

The Empress reversed might also appear when there is a fear that there will not be enough of something.

This could be love, money, understanding or safety. The Empress archetype does not understand the concept of scarcity. Upright or reversed, the Empress assuages your fears and reminds you that you exist in a Universe of plenty. There are a plethora of good experiences still waiting for you out there, no matter what past issue is being healed. The Empress reminds you that love will protect and shield you. So often, just giving yourself a little more love is all that is needed to make a huge breakthrough. Therefore, the Empress carries the shield in the shape of a heart, emblazoned with the symbol of Venus. This symbol represents opening your heart and allowing love to be the solution. The shield also symbolizes protecting your heart by viewing your current situation with unconditional love.

Look at your plans, projects and priorities as your children. They need attention, consistency, love and discipline to grow and thrive. The Empress bestows all forms of prosperity whether she appears upright or reversed. When reversed, abundance may seem a little more elusive, but it is still there. When looking for answers this card reassures you that the solution to insecurities will not be found out in the world, or from another person. The Empress will open the pathway forward when you nurture the part of yourself that’s been neglected.

Two of Wands (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day

“Discover true happiness by looking within, not outside.”

Two of Wands (Upright) | Tarot Card

The Two of Wands represents the sense that there is something missing, and that if you were to get that "thing," then you would be happy.

This restlessness can be useful to help you set goals and make improvements to your life. However, the Two of Wands warns that achievements and acquisitions will not be what finally "makes" you happy. Getting what you desire can feel good for a time, but if you gain the achievement, without authentic love for yourself, the achievement will soon feel hollow. The restless search for happiness through achievements, money, relationships, or status symbols can get you nowhere fast!

We often look outside for sources of happiness, validation, and contentment. This card reminds us that true fulfillment comes from within. External achievements and milestones can certainly enhance our lives, but they shouldn't be the sole determinants of our happiness. The Two of Wands urges you to look inward, to understand your own desires, dreams, and motivations. It's a call to re-evaluate what truly matters to you and to prioritize self-love and personal growth. This journey of self-discovery may take time and effort, but the rewards are immeasurable. Happiness, peace, and contentment lie within, and by nurturing our inner selves, we can truly find the joy and satisfaction we seek.

Two of Wands (Upright) 🌍🔥 for August 23 | Daily Tarot Reading/Card of the Day | Elliot Oracle

YouTube video on Two of Wands (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day

Do you ever think "I'll be happy when I finally have X"?

Do you feel restless or anxious that you haven't lived up to your "life's purpose" yet? Do you somehow believe that the right salary, the right position, the right weight, or even the right person has the power to finally "make you" happy?

A lord of a manor looks out, over the great expanse of his estate. He always felt restless as a child, feeling there was something missing. He believed that he could find joy if he just gets to the right place in life. He was very poor growing up and his family struggled for money. He saw how poverty made those around him suffer, so he thought, "If I made a lot of money one day, then I'd finally be happy." He learned how to sail, and traded goods from all over the world. Soon the young man became very wealthy.

But money didn't quite satisfy this man or give him the joy he thought it would. He must be crazy! He always wanted wealth...and yet, this didn't seem to be enough. He looked at the nobility around him. They all acted happy with themselves. What did they all have that he didn't? They lived in castles of course! So, he thought "I think I'll finally be happy if I live in a fine castle, with battlements and a beautiful view of the sea.

So, the man purchased the grandest estate in the land, with a beautiful view of the ocean. This made him feel good finally.... for a couple days. Then that old restless feeling came back.... We catch a glimpse of him now in the picture. You can see him holding a globe, looking out restlessly, beyond the sea. He's thinking.... I’d be happy if I finally owned the whole world, with all of its treasures.

How much are you willing to bet that even "the whole world" won't make him happy?

Abraham Lincoln said, ""Folks are usually about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

The lesson of the Two of Wands is that the acquiring of "things," and the achievement of goals is not enough to bring happiness to an already unhappy heart.

Money can make it easier to enjoy your life, but it will not actually "give" joy to your life.

The truth is that accomplishments, other people, how you look, and money can't "make" you happy, if you aren't already happy with yourself as you are now. If you can find self-love and joy, at this moment, without achieving another goal in life, then you have freed yourself from the restless search.

Today, stop thinking..."If I lose five pounds I'll be happy....If I find the right person I'll be happy.....If I get the right job I'll be happy.....If I become a doctor I'll be happy.....If enough people "like" my post I'll be happy......If I just looked a certain way I'd be happy.....

It's not true! Wherever you go, there you are!

Eight of Swords (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day

“Don't let past fears cloud your present. Recognize your power to break free from mental chains.”

Eight of Swords (Upright) | Tarot Card

The Eight of Swords depicts fear that clouds our perception, trapping us in the memories of the past and overshadowing the present moment

It's the embodiment of mental constraints, where one's own beliefs and past traumas prevent forward movement or clear sight. The woman in the card, blindfolded and bound, symbolizes being held captive by one's own thoughts and apprehensions.

However, the key message of this card is the potential for liberation. The very tools that imprison her (the swords) can be used to free her if only she realizes her power and capacity for change. The reality is, no one is coming to save her but herself. This card prompts you to question: What fears are holding you back? Are they based on past experiences? Remember, past events don't dictate future outcomes. By confronting and understanding these fears, you have the potential to liberate yourself from their shackles.

The surrounding waters represent emotions. Perhaps she's afraid of confronting her feelings, but it's worth noting that her feet are on solid ground, symbolizing that there's stability and grounding available to her once she chooses to move forward and leave the past behind.

Eight of Swords (Upright) 🗡️ for August 22 | Daily Tarot Insight: Don't let past fears cloud your present. Recognize your power to break free from mental chains.

YouTube video for the Eight of Swords (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day by Elliot Oracle

Is fear blinding and binding you somehow?

Has a traumatic experience from your past made you feel damaged or worthless? Are you so focused on potential catastrophes that you can't see your many opportunities? Do you rationalize your fears using past traumas to validate their existence?

The Eight of Swords uses grey imagery that makes the woman's situation look hopeless and bleak. But always with the tarot you must look closer....

She can free herself! So easily!

Wait, whaaaa?!

She could use any one of the abandoned swords that flank her to cut the ties around her hands. With her hands free she could quickly remove the blindfold. Her legs obviously work so she could still run to the safety. Perhaps she could seek sanctuary in large castle behind her. Why is she not focusing on fighting for herself, or her survival? Why is she accepting the shame cast on her by others without fighting?

It's because she really believes she is worthless.

The Eight of Swords challenges you to see if there's still some fight left in you.

Cut away the fears that bind you, rip away the blindfold! Stand up to what is scaring you. Feel your mighty worth. The past can't get you now so don't let it continue to overthrow your mind. Do not give into the illusion that you are trapped.

Feelings of worthlessness are lies that will keep you scared and bound. Today you must see your worth! If you are having trouble seeing your worth, look at the people that love you most. How would they feel without you in their lives? How sad would they be if they never experienced the special memories you made together? Reflect on your irreplaceable light today. Your light is so special, so uniquely you. In the whole cosmos, there is only one like it.

You are a survivor. You are worthy.

Eight of Swords in a Love ReadingNew Relationship

The Eight of Swords will alert you if you are setting yourself up for failure in new relationships by energetically showing up as a victim. Maintain your dignity, power, and self-respect. Watch out for being too eager to please, or passively waiting for the other person to recognize the wonderful person you are. Know your worth walking in.

Long Term Partnership

The Eight of Swords can warn of unhealthy dependency in relationships. One partner might rely on the other to “make them” feel good, solve all their issues, or take care of their responsibilities. Relationships work best when both people show up in their power. This card can also signify a partner who is being passive aggressive or needy.

Seeking Romance

If you are single, the Eight of Swords could represent feeling hopeless as you “endlessly” wait for your ideal relationship to arrive. A watched pot never boils. Switch mental gears. Engage in activities that empower you. This will have the added benefit of making your aura much more attractive to be around and will get the energy moving again.

Ten of Wands (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day

“Service.”

Ten of Wands (Upright) | Tarot Card

The Ten of Wands asks you to be of service to others for the success of the whole.

This includes the whole family, whole organization, or whole community. The Ten of Wands reminds you that it is never a waste of time to put forward your best efforts, especially if is improving the lives of others. Although your burdens may feel heavy at times, take heart. The efforts you are exerting now will ensure a brighter future. What goes around comes around!

In this card, the weight of the ten wands can feel like a heavy responsibility. However, it's a reminder that, at times, one must shoulder extra responsibility for the betterment of all. The person carrying the wands might feel burdened and overwhelmed, but there's also a sense of pride and accomplishment in knowing that one's contributions are making a difference. Service isn't just about self-sacrifice but also about understanding the importance of community and interconnectedness.

This card is a call to action. Even if you feel you're shouldering more than your fair share, know that your dedication and hard work will not only be appreciated but will also pave the way for others. The Ten of Wands is an affirmation that selfless service and perseverance have long-lasting, positive impacts, even if the rewards are not immediately visible.

Ten of Wands (Upright) 🌿🔥 for August 18 | Daily Tarot Reading/Card of the Day | Elliot Oracle

YouTube video for the Ten of Wands (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day

At times do you feel like the man on the card, struggling and straining with the tasks on your shoulders?

Do you express your love to others by your actions, more than words? Are your efforts being pooled in a direction that with benefit not only you, but others?

The man on the card is hard at work. He is returning from the fields with a great harvest, but the work is not easy. At first glance this card might elicit feelings of stress and exhaustion. But if you look closer, you see why the man is struggling. His huge house looms in the background. It's size suggests that he doesn't live alone, but has a large family living there, depending on him. Although we can't see the man's face, I'd like to think he wears a determined smile. He knows that his work matters, and is valued by the whole. Without him everything would fall. There would be no house, no money, no food, no loving and safe environment for his children to grow in. His service is his greatest expression of love. Although his present moment feels tough, he is ensuring a greater future for everyone. This is the dream of every family; to leave the next generation with more stable than the one before.

Some burdens in life can feel hard to carry. Unexpected events happen.

Things just get dropped in your path. Someone you love might need help. This is just part of life. There is nobility in serving the whole, but only if everyone in the whole is also doing their part. Serving shouldn't be confused with codependency. The people you are helping need to be able to demonstrate they are also helping themselves. Even people you care about need to demonstrate that (if they are able) they are willing to carry their own bundle of sticks!

This card also has a harvest theme to it. This indicates that the toil, work and service you put into your long-term goals with provide a bountiful harvest. This card has a Saturnine quality to it, indicating that if you do the work and endure the discomfort you will eventually enjoy the reward.

Knight of Wands (Upright) | Tarot Card

Knight of Wands (Upright) 🔥🏇 for August 17 | Daily Tarot Reading/Card of the Day | Elliot Oracle

YouTube video for the Knight of Wands (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day by Elliot Oracle

When is the last time you broke routines and explored the world outside your home or work?

Do you need a big vacation, or a small get away to regain perspective? Do you go to the same old restaurants, same pubs, same neighborhoods in your community? Are you overdo for some spontaneity?

Travel broadens the mind. It frees us from monotony and allows us to explore environments where people don’t know all our personal history. By exploring new places, you are on a journey of discovering yourself. When you return from a trip your mind looks at the life you left behind with renewed clarity. It's called "leaving the bubble."

In his “Four Quartets,” T.S Eliot wrote: ” We shall not cease from exploration, and at the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. “

Today, reclaim your spontaneity!

Go an outing outside of your normal perimeters. Visit a restaurant with foods you haven’t tried. Talk to people that don’t look like you. Get excited and plan a larger trip if you need a vacation. This world is so awesome, get out there and explore!

Not everyone can take big trips to exotic locations, but you can still go to places that allow you to connect with folks that are different from you. Once there, you will realize that you aren’t so different after all. By seeing yourself as they might see you, you might find you are more interesting than you thought.

Today, stop being bored or boring. You are not your job or your routine.

Knight of Wands in a Love ReadingNew Relationship

The Knight of Wands represents a thrilling new romance that’s hard to stop thinking about. There is an insatiable quality to this attraction and this person will always leave you wanting more. Try not to get too “clingy” with the Knight of Wands, or your heart could break. He (or she) may spend years traveling, dating, or moving from place to place before settling down.

Long Term Partnership

The Knight of Wands symbolizes a relationship that has been a wild ride. The very fact you got this person to commit to you is a wonder. Your partnership thrives through travel, freedom, and a change of scene. This card can also signify a long-distance relationship, or a partnership in which both partners spend a lot of time apart.

Seeking Romance

If you are single, the Knight of Wands tells you to enjoy it! Don’t be in too much of a hurry to settle down. There will be years to enjoy that future partner who’ll be unromantically eating pizza in their underwear on your couch. For now, be free. Flirt, explore, feel sexy, and enjoy your freedom!

Queen of Swords (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day

“Assert your place at the table with wisdom, courage, and unapologetic honesty.”

Queen of Swords (Upright) | Tarot Card

The Queen of Swords symbolizes bringing order to chaos through clarity and boundaries.

She is also an archetype that does not apologize for her right to have a place at the table. The Queen of Swords stands up to bullies and societal pressures. She questions the legitimacy of structures and rules that do not make logical sense. She keeps an eagle eye on maintaining her strength, integrity, and personal authority.

The Queen of Swords is a beacon of intellect, wisdom, and independence. Her energy represents the maturity to discern truth from falsehood, make fair judgments, and take decisive actions. Her sword is sharp, symbolizing her clear thinking and ability to cut through confusion. She reminds us to be unapologetic about who we are, to speak our minds, and to set clear boundaries.

The Queen of Swords encourages honest communication and transparency. Her appearance can signify a need to have candid conversations, even if they might feel uncomfortable. In career matters, she represents leadership, analytical thinking, and the ability to take charge of complex situations. Embrace the Queen of Swords' energy to assert your rights, maintain integrity, and lead with wisdom and courage.

Queen of Swords (Upright) 🗡️👑 | Tarot Card of the Day | Aug 11: Assert your place at the table with wisdom, courage, and unapologetic honesty

YouTube video for the Queen of Swords (Upright) | Tarot Card of the Day by Elliot Oracle

Are you uncomfortable with setting up boundaries with others because you might look "mean?”

Is your career path in harmony with your authentic self? Is it difficult for you to stand up to the pressures of what others think you should be or do?

The Queen of Swords gets a lot of bad press. This is because she is not a docile, submissive or objectified woman. She is too powerful to be minimized by mindless societal roles and conventions. She uses her sword to cut through the hypocrisy of others' assumptions concerning how she should act, and what she should be. She knows that if she bows down to the demands of what others want her to be, she is selling herself short. She places strong boundaries because this is how people and organizations become healthy and grow. She is a master of transforming the energy from victimhood to being victorious (look at her butterfly crown). She commands respect because she respects herself first.

The Queen of Swords is a powerful and independent woman who values truth and honesty above all else.

Even modern society still seems to have a problem with seeing women in strong leadership roles. Early on we are taught that women should be "likable" and "selfless," rather than strong, powerful, or ambitious. Women who embody the energy of the Queen of Swords are sometimes ostracized, despised, and ridiculed for no other reason than: "I just think she's a B#%*@." However, some of the best leaders history ever produced were strong women like Queen Hatshepsut of Egypt, Queen Elizabeth I of England, and Empress Catherine the Great of Russia.

Whether you are male or female, the Queen of Swords appears to reacquaint you with your personal authority, strength, and power. You may also need to be more self-disciplined or create some much-needed boundaries. Don’t worry about being “liked” as much as being honest with yourself. Speak up and solve present issues and problems. You are strong and capable.

Do not apologize for your strength, power, or authentic self. Own it.

Seven of Swords (Reversed) | Tarot Card of the Day

"Change of luck.”

Seven of Swords (Reversed) | Tarot Card

When the Seven of Swords appears reversed, it represents changes in luck.

If an unlucky black rain cloud has been following you around, then this card could indicate that it is finally dissipating. The trickster on the card announces that unexpected events are currently swirling around you. Lucky meetings and encounters may take place. However, you may also need to be on guard for unscrupulous individuals. Read between the lines to any agreements, since there is always an unpredictable (and sneaky) quality to this card.

While the reversed Seven of Swords brings a sense of fortune's shift, it also emphasizes the importance of discernment and vigilance. Remember, not every opportunity is as it seems, and not every person has your best interest at heart. This card advises you to trust your intuition, stay alert, and be cautious when dealing with unfamiliar situations or individuals. The reversed position can also indicate that the challenges you faced previously with deception or betrayal are now behind you. It's a time to move forward but with an added layer of wisdom and mindfulness. Consider this phase as an opportunity to grow stronger and more attuned to your surroundings, learning from the past and being better prepared for the future.

Seven of Swords (Reversed) 🗡️🔄 | Tarot Card of the Day | Aug 10: A shift in fortune is on the horizon, but remain alert.

YouTube video for the Seven of Swords (Reversed) | Tarot Card of the Day by Elliot Oracle

Have you tried to outsmart a situation that seemed impossible?

Are you feeling tired of constantly battling life's barriers?
The Seven of Swords Tarot card encourages you to use your intelligence and strategic thinking to overcome challenges in your life. Instead of fighting head-on, try to outsmart the obstacles in your path. Remember, there's always a way to succeed if you don't give up. Don't get frustrated or give in to despair; instead, approach your problems with a different perspective and get as much information as you can. By arming yourself with knowledge, you'll have the power to overcome any challenge.

The trickster on the Seven of Swords card is a great example of how you can use your wits to outsmart a difficult situation. Rather than fighting the entire army, he strategically steals five of their seven weapons, weakening their strength. You can use a similar approach by taking the time to review your challenge from different angles and finding ways to circumvent it. Seek advice from experts and use the internet to your advantage. Don't be afraid to take risks or commit to a decision that may lead to change.

If you feel like you're hitting a wall, the Seven of Swords suggests applying strategic thinking and doing some research. Take a step back and try to find a different approach to the problem. With perseverance, you can find a way around any obstacle and emerge victorious. Don't give up when life seems to be against you; instead, stay focused and keep pushing forward with your mind as your greatest tool.

The Seven of Swords reversed encourages you to take control of your own life and create your own luck.

As the ancient Roman philosopher Seneca once remarked: “Good luck is when preparation meets with opportunity.” Think ahead and prepare for what you are trying to accomplish. Use your resilient wits and good luck will find you.

The Seven of Swords reversed asks that you to pay attention to details. The thief on the card could indicate the need to review current payment plans, to ensure that you aren’t being currently robbed by a corporation or even another individual. Upright or reversed, the Seven of Swords asks you to get smarter. Details will give you the ability to change your luck and overcome your challenges.
