BEING CONTENT...IN A FALLEN WORLD.
The scene is set as the children ages three through ten lined up at the large mall store to get their chance to sit with Santa and give him their list of WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS!
Each child waiting impatiently for their turn. Some talk and tell the next one in line how they are wanting this new game, or how they need all these toys that they wanted.
The 3-year-old, just walking good and his eyes filled with great expectation could hardly wait to set on Santa's lap. He said, " I'm gonna ask for 100 toys."
Does this sound familiar to you my friends? That the children are just like we remain today. We seem to think we NEED so much to make us happy and content.
We always want a bigger house, a newer car, all the latest iPhones, all the gadgets that we say make our lives so much easier.
But, do they really? We strive to GET, GET, GET to find it didn't satisfy after all.
I love what this one little child did as he approached the Christmas scene, the big chair with the jolly old Santa setting with open arms to hear his Christmas gifts request.
As he climbed up on the lap of Santa, Santa ask:" now what do you want for Christmas"?
The little boy looked into Santa's eyes and said, " Santa, I have a lot of toys, I really don't need anything, I just wanted to ask you, " do you know Jesus as your Savior?"
Because Santa, that's why we celebrate Christmas. God sent His son, He was born in a barn, He was sent to be the one that went to the cross and died for the sins of the whole world. I know Him and He gives me all I ever need.
No doubt that Santa was teary-eyed as he looked back down at this little child full of wisdom and said," I've heard many times this gospel story, but as you told me again, I do want what you have my child. I will ask Jesus to be my Savior right now."
Friends, I'm here to tell you that ONLY JESUS can satisfy our souls. We see in Scripture
Philippians 4:11-12 that the apostle Paul had learned how to be content through all the struggles, heartaches he had gone through. And Hebrews 13:5 repeats, I will never leave you or forsake you. When we have Jesus, we have ALL we NEED!
Wanting one's: That's the way you stay content in this Fallen World. Letting Jesus be FIRST. If we would only learn that scripture also says, in Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and ALL these things shall be added unto you.

SOMEDAY.....IT'LL ALL MAKE SENSE........
When you have 5 sisters, and even though you love each and everyone, there is in my memory one of those "Special ones".
Bonnie Lee Sagerser Thomas, was that one. It is coming up now four years since her passing.
Bonnie left her home on earth and winged her way to her heavenly home on November 19th, 2017. A Sunday @ 6:02 PM. My younger sister and I had just made our daily visit to her room at the Alzheimer's Residence. Hearing that the doctor said she had approximately 6 days left, we told ourselves we will see her tomorrow.
What's the old saying? " If tomorrow never comes". That rings true for us.
Even though I go into much detail about her life and all her great qualities in my published book, " My Christian Journey Through a Fallen World", I felt compelled to write this blog to encourage those of you that have also lost loved ones.
How many times have we living in this old world cried and struggled in just why does God take our precious ones at earlier ages, and leave some into their 90's?
There's a song I love, " We will understand it better by and by."
I first heard of Bonnie's beginning of Alzheimer's disease from her concerned husband.
He told me things she was doing and how she was acting. I would not accept that ...until I began to see it myself.
If you have this in your family or know someone that does, this is to encourage you in the battle. An ugly battle but then as I will show you, not a lost battle when your loved one knows Jesus as their savior. John 3:16, Romans 8:1.
See, I call it a victory because God didn't leave her in that state for very long, compared to many that stay in the battle, and the care center for years and years.
I will always cherish the memory of one of my last visits with her. I came to visit, as always I found her setting in the large lobby sleeping in a chair. I knelt, patted her leg, and woke her, saying, "Bonnie let's walk down the hall." She stood as I helped her and we hugged each other for the longest time. I said, " I love you, Bonnie". She answered in the best voice she could, " I Luv you too". I used this scenario as I spoke at her funeral. Only adding to my talk:
"We will hug again Bonnie, and I came just as soon as my Savior would let me."
See, when you know what Bonnie and I know, going to be with Jesus is a wonderful thing and you can let them go because Heaven is our permanent home. Don't you want to go there?
I walked the Alzheimers walk for finding a cure two times and I will walk it again. I'm doing it for Bonnie and your loved ones also.
I know if you are struggling now, it's hard to understand, but when you see heaven in all of its glory.....you will see that ............ SOMEDAY IT'LL ALL MAKE SENSE.

Prayer wall at the Alzheimer's Event. We were to write our thoughts.

Love U Sister Bonnie, Peace all the way to glory!!

NO WONDER I CAN SING YOUR PRAISES
How do I start..... How do I let you know that I have so many reasons to sing praises to my
precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?
This has been a very difficult season of life for me and many, many of you also.
Where do I start? How do I let you know that as hard as it has been, despite all the terrible hardships, the wicked virus, the business' closing, the deaths of our loved ones, and oh, yeah even my illness!
I have always been very active in my life. Blame it on anxiety, or, blame it on type A personality.
But sometimes we have to look at our age and realize that we are not 20 years old anymore.
I've often heard that sometimes for God to get your attention, to make you listen to Him, He just might put you laying down and looking up. Yep! I sort of had to have that happen to me.
It started with a pulled groin, stayed that way for a while, seemed better, I begin to be real active again. Not a good idea. Fast forward to September. Nothing doctors suggested helped. Physical therapy, x-ray, until the MRI. Then I got the results.
I have a degenerating left hip. The femur bone is pressing into the hip socket causing pain.
So... I've been on a non-weight-bearing walker and don't see the orthopedic doctor again until Oct 13th.
BUT, I'm saying all this to tell you " NO WONDER I SING PRAISES TO YOUR NAME!"
My God, my great I AM! has sustained me through every tribulation I have found myself going through. He taught me to seek Him in a more personal way. He has shown me how my struggles brought me to an even closer walk with Him.
Friend, are you feeling hopeless from all this season of life has brought you? Then let me help you to see that God has a reason, and if you're a child of the King, it's ALL for your good.
I have sung in our church choir for nearly 25 years, and because we have steps to go into the choir loft, and because of my pain, I have not been able to be a part of the ministry that I love in serving my Savior. That again has made me see just how much I miss singing His praises.
If you will stop, look at all you've been through, you will see that it was for a reason that only God can show you. Will you let Him show you? Then you will say with me:
NO WONDER I SING PRAISES TO YOUR NAME! IF YOU are physically able, stand and lift your worship to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. " I sing praises to your name, oh, Lord, praises to your name oh Lord, for your name is great and greatly to be praised.

No Wonder I can sing "Praises to your Name"

For the King and His Kingdom.

DOES GOD CARE?.....THEN WHY DO I HURT?
Margie sat emotionally with tears streaming down her face as she was unaware of the several hundred others that also sat around her.
Margie was one of many that were there for a Grief Share Meeting. As she wiped the tears from her eyes, trying to act as if all was okay, she started to listen as the speaker walked to the podium and begin to speak.
The speaker started with: Welcome, to all. And I know you are here because of some sort of grief. Well, you are not alone in your grief my friend. I am going to speak as I know this grief, even if it may not be the same type of grief that you are attending for or experiencing.
Let me start with; IF any of you here had a cure for a deadly disease like, Cancer, would you not want to tell everybody that has Cancer?
That’s going to be my point in this meeting. No matter what the grief you are bearing, no matter what burdens you carry, you are here to find comfort, peace, and, “just how do I get over my hopelessness, my despair?” Psalms 46:1-3 starts with our answer. GOD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains are carried into the midst of the sea: Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah, This word,( Selah) I have understood to be a Hebrew word, used to mean “praise,” or pause and reflect upon what the Psalmist has just been saying.
Indeed, a great thing to do in any Bible scripture that gives us instruction. There are many different griefs that we face as we travel our own life’s journey. My grief may be the loss of a loved one, the pain of a divorce, a struggle with a wayward child, a friend, or a loved one that took their own life. In this world, we WILL have TRIBULATION John 16:33. Jesus, being God in the flesh, knew we would have our struggles. “Jesus knows all about my struggles. He will guide till the day is done there’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus, no not one, no not one.”
When you have accepted Jesus as your own Savior, when you know to whom you belong, then there is that help you need for your grief. All the griefs that are represented in this Grief Share Meeting will be answered by the “Blood of the Cross”. I’m here to tell you that “Jesus Cares, oh, yes He cares”. 1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, AFTER that ,you have suffered a while,, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle.
I've always wondered about the " after you have suffered a while, " It's like Jesus wants to show us that He knows we are suffering, but He knows this will strengthen us. And He knows it will be for our good.
Friend, it’s all about turning, leaning into Jesus. Knowing whom you belong to, helps you know who you are in Christ. He has already won the VICTORY for you.
All roads, in the grief you bear lead to the Cross of Jesus.
Kneel at the cross, Jesus will meet you there. Does He Care? Oh, yes He cares, Jesus cares for you. I love the song, that has these words: I am who I am because the I AM says that's who I am. We can endure all things when Jesus tells us " That He has already won the VICTORY for us. ".

JESUS CARES FOR YOU.

GOD…..YOU HOLD OUR DAYS IN YOUR HAND.
It was a beautiful Fall Saturday in October as I made my way over to my brother Bill's home to do the caretaking I had always done since he had become more and more feeble.
He was 86 years old now and that last fall he took seem to usher in a wave of problems.
My biggest concern for him was his destiny.
I had talked many times to him about how much God loves us and that He sent His son, Jesus to die for our sins. Romans 3:23 we are all born in sin.
It would never register to him, UNTIL this Saturday in October.
I went about my usual chores, emptying trash, sweeping his dirty messy floor, but, first making him his favorite breakfast; egg, toast and, a cup of coffee. It was always the same. Egg soft, toast with jelly, and coffee with cream and 2 artificial sugars.
This Saturday became different. I was being prompted by the Holy Spirit to talk again with Bill about his destiny.
I finished my work, then said, “Bill I want to tell you something that happened to me back in 1969. He became all ears. I pulled my chair up close to his chair, (he was so hard of hearing)
I began to tell him how I had heard the gospel over and over, not understanding why I need a Savior. Then one evening I took my Bible and went out of our bedroom, opened the scriptures to 1 John 5: 10-12. I saw then that I had head knowledge but not heart knowledge. I asked Jesus to be my Savior, to forgive me of my sins.
He said as most sinners do; "O, those preachers they just want your money, they are only out for themselves."
I repeated, that God had spared him so many times, to let him have THIS DAY.
You can read this account in-depth in my true memoir book. “My Christian Journey Through a Fallen World”. I reminded him of the near-death times he had. I told him, not all of those preachers are true, and when they stand before the Lord, telling all they have done in Jesus' name, He will say, “depart from me, I never knew you.” Matthew 7:21-23.
I remember standing up and saying, “I’m going to pray for you.” I don’t recall all I said, but, Bill began to weep and weep. His nose was running, he was in deep despair.
When I finished, I ask, "Bill, if someone came by here a week from now and ask, “Where would you go if you died” what would you say? He wiped his tears, and said, “Heaven. I said,” why would you go to heaven?" " He said, as he wiped his eyes and nose again.
“Because I ask Jesus into my heart.” O, friend how glorious and merciful is our Lord.
Bill lasted until November 2nd. But, now I know where he is. His days were in God’s hand and by God’s mercy, He settled Bill's destiny.
Please ask; what must I do to be saved? GOD HOLD’S YOUR DAYS IN HIS HAND.
I'll see Bill again because of that Saturday in October " He invited Jesus into his heart."

GOD'S LOVE...CHANGES EVERYTHING
She was only 27 years old, a very pretty girl. She had been through so many problems in her short life. From living with a group of poorly chosen girlfriends, to being so dishearted in the men that she became involved with.
She had always wanted to become a ballerina, I remember seeing her standing on her top toes in those ballerina shoes as she gracefully made her marvelous moves.
That was when we as sisters lived in the same home of a dysfuntional family life.
Years passed and as life will go... she went her way, I went my way. Me into real estate brokeage work, her off to Florida, and becoming involved with a man that had been preciously married with 2 children.
She married this man, and her life went from confusion to totally disarrayed. He was not a man of character or did he treat her with love.
Fast forward to 1974, and me living in beautiful river home, married to a wonderful Christian man, having our first child at that time 5 years old. Oh, for life and how it takes it's many turns,
BUT, GOD'S LOVE CHANGES EVERYTHING. It did in her life @ 27 years old. She was going through a divorce and came to stay with us in that river home on the Finley River in the great Ozarks. But it took some time to let God's work take place. This account is in my book as one of the 3 chapters, "SUICIDE" part of " My Christian Journey Through a Fallen World"
Romans 8: 35-39 tells us that: Our God is LOVE. When He loves us and we give our life to Him as Jesus Christ our Savior, NOTHING can seperate us from His love.
She came to me as a LOST little sheep , but took Jesus as her personal Savior. The story of couse didn't end there. As you read the account in my true published book, you see that she never had a chance to see that " God Changes Everything.
I'm writing this blog, ( suppose to be an " Encouraging BLOG") , and really it is. Because even though she took Jesus into her heart she didn't realize that " nothing could seperate her from Christ Jesus". You read she took her life, but, not really, because her life was hidden in God's love. That day she ask Jesus into her heart, she was forever forgiven. God saw her pain, saw her need, and because she was His He took her home, one week later.
I write this blog to let you know that God's love changes everything. This sad story became a testimony for me many times through the rest of my life. Please read Romans 8: 35-39
it will open your eyes to just how much God loves us and He even gives us grace at our point of not knowing the VICTORY is already ours when we know His truth.
What a verse in Romans 8: 1 " THERE is therefore now NO condemantion to them which are in Christ Jesus." This is a powerful message to all that are in Christ Jesus. Nothing can seperate us from the love of God. God's love changes Everything!

ARE YOU PART OF THE PROBLEM.....OR PART OF THE SOLUTION?
We begin reading scripture ; Exodus chapter 32:1 Where Moses went up to Mt. Sinai and spoke with God. Remember; Moses was leading the Israelites out of Egypt and from under Pharaoh's bondage on the people. Moses was leading them as God directed to the Promise land.
As he was up there, it says in Chapter 31:18 When God was finished communing with Moses on Mt. Sinai, with the two tablets of testimony, tablets of stone, written by the very finger of of God, Moses was then ready to bring them down to the people waiting below.
But Chapter 32 says: And when the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down out of the mount, they gathered themselves together with Aaron and said to him, " lets make ourselves gods to worship. This man Moses that brought us out of Egypt we don't know what has become of him." ( Moses was with God on the mount for 6 days.)
They just couldnt wait for God to show Moses HIS plan. Sounds like us today, huh..?
Aaron began the process to build them their idol god's to worship. Oh, how much they seem to be like us in this evil world. I'm asking as you read this account , are you a part of the problem.....or will you be part of the solution?
I am guilty as many of not wanting to wait for God's timing. But, I know I want to be like Moses. I want to confront the evil unfaithful people and break the tablets of false worship by todays generation. How can anyone not see the corruption that we the people have allowed to penetrate our once, " God blessed" nation.?
They say, history repeats itself and I can see in the wandering Israelites being led to " the promise land" how the miracle of their needs being met one after another, God

so faithfully,
performed and took care of each and everyone.
Humbly yourself, pray.

But just because of what they considered a delay in Moses coming back down to them, they turned from " THE TRUE GOD" and went whoring after false god's.
Friends if you say you are a child of GOD, washed in the blood of Christ that died for you, then please take a look at your heart. Don't repeat the recorded mistakes the children being led by Moses " going to the promise land" but because of NOT trusting our Lord are being a part of the problem as they were.
It is sad to think that the "Church", "the children of God" on the most part, are the problem. Even 2 Chronicles 7:14 is not addressed to the sinners or to the world at large, but rather to " my people, which are called by MY name".
The solution is the same as it was for those in Moses's day. Humble your self, pray, seek God's face, and repent from evil.
Why have we NOT stood up and condemmed the evilness, the polluted politician , the false gods of our nation? The time is NOW! Why have many believers just adjusted themselves to today's culture? COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM, BE YE SEPERATE SAYS THE LORD.
1Peter 4:17 says, " For the time has come that judgement must begin at the house of God."
We see from this; that when God returns in these last days, He will express the truth and do work of judgement beginning in the house of God.
Just think; if we " the believes would just do what God ask in 2 Chronicles 7:14 all this chaos of lawlessness, coronavirus, hating among the people, killing of the innocent , and all evil would be taken care of by God.
So, I ask; Are you " part of the problem, or will you be part of the solution?"

WHY DOES THE CHILD OF GOD SUFFER?
She fell to the floor with a broken heart. Saying, " God why am I suffering like this"? " I belong to you, I follow you and try to serve you in all the ways thay I can. I have been faithful in knowing that you are my everything., I know the scripture's that give us all your promises, I see your hand of mercy to the fallen, but now I am in so much pain, I begin to feel deserted."
She can be you and it certainly has been me many times in my Christian life. But I want you to read on to what I have discoverd through it all.
So many people look to the blessings of validation of God's presence. But when we examine the lives of those in Scripture who were closest to God, we find tribulation, difficults, and troubles. We can certainly look to the story of Joseph. Genesis 37:1-50
He lived a life of goodness untill his brothers were so jealous of him they devised a plan to start his long life of suffering. But, as you read the story, you see why God allowed his suffering.
You will realize that's what God has in mind for your suffering also. Read on.......
Being blessed is a wonderful thing, but it is not necessarily an indicator of a person's imtimacy with their lord that those that seem to have little pain or struggles in their lives are somehow really blessed by God. See, I have learned that it's through those sufferings that God has used them to fill me with IRON in my soul. .
There's an old song that says," If I never had the problem, I'd never know that God could solve them".
If we as a Christ believer get everything we ask God for, He does say, " call on me , believe , and I will give you what you ask for Mark 11:24 . We would soon become like spoiled children.
God wants you to go through the suffering to fill your soul with IRON. I have found that through my suffering, things happening that I wondered WHY? have been the very things things that God was preparing me for to become the blessing He had in store.
We also go through many different sufferings to be the one used by God to comfort someone else that is going through what we have been through. Nothing like being able to say when you can help to comfort another, " I know what you are going through I have been there."God might allow pain to enter your life for this reason.
Many will tell you only in their problems they realized, "that ; they truly learned to depend on the Lord."
How are we to walk through a dark, suffering world , going through our problems , and not be able to help that person we encounter to comfort them with the same comfor we ourselves have been comforted.?
Ask a former prisioner that found the Lord as his own personal Savior while he was imprisoned. God , my friend, is not being cruel when you go through suffering, He is using that suffering to make you BETTER and if you do not become BITTER, Your suffering does what it was meant to accomplish.
No doubt we are in a "Fallen World". But God still is in total control. He is allowing your suffereing as His child to build the IRON into your soul. Making you that Child of God that will in the long run be used by Him to bring glory to His name.
Finish reading the story of Joseph. My, my, how he was used to save his people. God's plan all alone.
Will you use your suffering to be used by God? Will you use your suffering to help a brother/ sister, to get through their suffering, because you can say, " I know your pain, I'v been there."

HOW ARE YOU?....... NO, REALLY, HOW ARE.....YOU?
When we meet an old friend, the first thing we usually say is " how are you?"
Oh, 'I'M FINE, YES, I'M FINE, YES, I'M FINE...............
But really are we FINE?. Don't we need to be honest and real about what's going on in our lives?. I think all of us at many times will say that but, is it the REAL truth?
Everything and eveyone else in life changes constanly. Our lives change. Our relationships change, our health changes, the landscapes changes.
That's why you need to be anchored to an unchangeable God.
Are you lonely; confused with life; wondering what is going to happen next?
There are many in this Fallen World that have some issuses right now.
I understand and can relate. I want to address this hurt. Whether it's financial, relationships, family problems, or, just saddened by the turn of events in your life. Maybe that dream you had is vanished, you really don't care anymore.
So, we wear a mask, ( wow!) I just thought how that really relates at this season of life. So, as I started to say, " we are shaking hands with an old friend we haven't seen in a long time and, they say," hi, " HOW ARE YOU"? We are different from day to day and sometimes from moment to moment.
Well, can I tell you that we have a Savior , His name is Jesus Christ, that no matter what day or hour you would meet, talk to Him, " He is the same yesterday today and forever". Hebrews 13:8 KJV.
Jesus is the one constant in life that you can always know; He never changes. He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother, He is full of compassion, mercy and love.
I love the book of Psalms. I read those chapters and I am renewed because I see how loving , and with tender mercy He shows His love to us. He is the GREAT I AM!. Always there to bring us through another struggle in our lives. ALWAYS CONSTANT!
We know from scripture that God had laws for us to obey and then all would be well with our souls. I read in Psalms 119: 126 this word: It is time for you, Lord, to work: for they have made VOID your law.
I see now why we wear a mask , ( and maybe God is saying something in this mask mandate) He say's you are not really FINE, you need my strength, My guidandece, you need Me to walk beside you. But you hide behind your hurt. " Oh, we're fine, yes, we're fine". When we are not !!
Aren't you happy that we can have a Savior that is ALWAYS the same?
He say's; " I NEVER CHANGE. " Psalms 33:11. The God of the Bible never changes.
That is why He is the only secure place man can put his faith and trust. The fact that God is eternally unchanging makes Him unlike any other being in existence.
Freinds , don't you want to have that in your life? Don't you want to shake an old friends hand and say, "I'm Fine, yes, I'm fine" and mean it.?
The only way for that is to have a close relationship with the Savior, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Will you accept this encouraging BLOG today? Let it be your answer for being the same yesterday, today and forever, because you have peace with God, that gives you peace in God. I'm praying for you.
