Six Sentence Sunday: The Spirit of Love #7

It's Six Sentence Sunday and This is the 7th snippet from The Spirit of Love.

If this is your first SSS, here's a quick update: Brynna and Travis lost their son (Jake) due to a tragic accident. Instead of turning to each other they drifted apart. However, they own a Ghost Hunting business and they were scheduled for a night at the Queen Mary. This is the first time they have seen each other in months. In this scene: It takes place a few paragraphs after Snippet 6 left off.

**************************************************************************************************

(Travis just asked Brynna how much she remembered of that night.)

Now for the six:

“What night are we speaking of?” she asked, although she had a good idea of what he referred to.

“The night you found out about . . .”

“Tanya,” she finished, her voice sounding harsh to her own ears.

Before he could reply, a loud popping sound filled the room, then an exploding blast of glass.

Brynna and Travis hurried out of the dressing room to discover the light fixture mounted on the tile wall was broken. Glass littered the floor like tiny teardrops.

“The spirit is rather excitable,” Travis murmured.

(Travis is speaking first.)

Now for the six:

It haunts me that I wasn’t strong enough for you. Brynna?” he said, his voice thick with emotion as he spaced out each word evenly. “How many days has it been since you moved out of the house?”

“It seems like a lifetime, but it’s only been a week.”

“You believe it’s only been a week?”

She frowned, confused by his question.

Six Sentence Sunday: The Spirit of Love #5

It's Six Sentence Sunday and This is the 5th snippet from The Spirit of Love. Don't forget to stop by KMN Books Blogspot for the Christmas Wishes Blog Hop- lots of prizes. Also pick up your copy of Autumn Moon. It's free at Amazon until Dec. 11th!

Travis has just asked Brynna why she thought spirits lingered? She tells him, she believes they have unfinished business and cannot leave until they accomplish it.

(Travis is speaking first.)

Now for the six:

“If I were to die, right now, I would linger to tell you how much I love you,” he continued, barging through her words as if she hadn't spoken, “and I would want to hold you one more time and tell you that.”

She closed her eyes, and swallowed hard, biting back tears. He still loved her, but his talk of dying left her emotions raw and exposed. Life was a precious gift and without notice their fragile existence could end at anytime. She hadn’t been able to say goodbye to Jake. Death just claimed him.

****************************************************************************************************

That's the six, folks. Like always, I'd love to hear what you think. So... Do you think ghosts linger for a reason? Unfinished business? Don't know they've died?
