Blurb:

Michaela Grant travels to Scotland for a holiday, knowing this vacation is her last. A medical condition threatens her life and any chance of a future—until she meets Alan MacLachlin, a man forced to exist between two worlds.

Alan is the legendary Loch Ness Monster. Once every fifty years he returns to human form in search of his soul mate, the one woman who can break his curse. He believes he has found forever with Michaela, but to claim it he must figure out how to save her life.

Michaela and Alan vow to take what time has to offer, but another threat looms. A sinister shape shifter with a vendetta against Alan is making Loch Ness his personal hunting ground. Now he’s threatening Michaela. Alan must discover who the shifter is and stop him before it’s too late.

The UPDATE: This takes place a few paragraphs from last week's snippet #9. The water spirits have flooded the valley and Druid Daly arrives to confront the person responsible for allowing the spirits to escape. Gordana faces Druid Daly explaining she feared for her son's safety and forgot to replace the lid on the well, allowing the water spirits to break free. Druid Daly was not pleased with her response. Ronson (one of the clan who is only worried about himself)doesn't want to be blamed and argues with Druid Daly, wanting him to return their valley to the way it once stood. The druid refuses.

Now for the snippet: (revised for the Snippet Sunday.)

*************************************************************************************************

“Ye will have to make a new home and rely on yer own resources to find fresh water to drink. Ye will live yer life as other humans do,” Druid Daly said, ignoring the gasps and sobs.

Gordana drew her child closer against her. “I know I must pay for my sins, but I beg of ye to spare my child. He is young and has no’ learned the ways of the world.”

“The boy will be spared. However, Gordana, ye will pay for yer sins. The well still needs to be guarded.”

The UPDATE: This takes place a few paragraphs from last week's snippet #8.

IN THIS SCENE: Druid Daly is speaking first. Of course Ronson, (who is one of the clan members, and all for saving himself), points his finger at Gordana. If anyone is going to be punished , it's not going to be him. He pleads with Druid Daly to return the water spirits and make things the way they were before the flooding.

Druid Daly asks why the gods should be so lenient?

Now for the snippet:

*************************************************************************************************

His long finger pointed toward the loch, his sleeves hung from his arms, waving as the brisk wind lifted the loose material to and fro. “Yer well is beneath the surface in an underground cavern. The waters are too deep for a human to swim and survive.”

“It was Gordana who did this.” Ronson turned his deep-set eyes on her. “Why should we be punished for her mistake?”

“Why indeed,” Druid Daly bit out. “Where were ye when the poor lassie needed help tendin’ her young?”

The gamble is trust, but will the stakes prove too high for Zachery to risk it all and win Gillian's heart? E-Book: Amazon Kindle

DESTINYS_PREROGATiveEBook_medium

Destiny's Prerogative

E-Book:  Kindle

"Dr. Shay McCormick is a veterinarian who works with big cats at a wildlife refuge. She has a near death experience and meets a man/jaguar who sends her back.

Gabriel Cruzado is a famous artist and a nagual, a werejaguar who guides the spirits of the dead and dying to where they need to go. One night he sends a young woman back to the living and she does not fear him in either form.

Gabriel Cruzado is in crisis. He is about to go into his mating cycle and the woman who agreed to be his mate has changed her mind, his brothers kidnap someone to take her place, but he will not have someone unwilling. In the meantime, someone is kidnapping and torturing weres, before either killing them or making them kill each other. He puts the films on the internet. Gabriel and his brothers must stop this madman as well.

The Cruzado brothers are not your typical weres, particularly Gabriel and Lucas; one is an artist, the other a surfer. Demetrius is a very alpha type attorney. I liked the sequences on the dream plane and the subplot where weres are being kidnapped and killed. Gabriel is a bit too noble for his own good and Shay is the perfect soul mate for him as his brothers deducted. Bly is a bit of a surprise and the ending is very exciting. This is a very well crafted and entertaining story."

When Dr. Shay McCormick died, there was no white light, no loved one to comfort her. There was a half-man, half-jaguar there to greet her. He's a descendant of the nagual, a spirit guide. It isn't her time and he leads her to safety. Shay wants proof shapeshifters exist. Her curiosity leads her into a world of danger and to Gabriel Cruzado. Fate threw them together, but despite their differences, they work together, trying to eliminate the threat that will destroy their future.
They were destined to be lovers long before he touched her soul and she saved his life.

Lost in the Mist of Time: (Full length novel. Time Travel 16th Century Ireland)

Aislinn Hennessy's love life was almost laughable, with a trail of disastrous relationships to show for it. She long ago gave up thinking a knight in shining armor was going to sweep her off her feet, but then she never expected to run him off the road either.

Sir Dougray Fitzpatrick, Lord of Dunhaven already buried one wife and had no wish for another, but it was foreseen that he would go to the future to seek a vision, a crucial venture to secure his future born. Only he hadn't bargained on it being a woman that would insist on battling against him at every turn.
Dougray finds that Aislinn is fearless in the face of an enemy, but shies away from what her heart holds true. Aislinn discovers that Dougray is honest and brave to a fault. He would die for her if necessary. They were thrown together by a twist of fate, a magical mist that sends them back to sixteenth century Ireland where conspiracies, feuds and unexpected violence are commonplace threats, but along the way, they discover a few surprises that neither one expects: a chance for love even when they're: Lost in the Mist of time.

Twilight's Eternal Embrace: (Full length novel set in Medieval Ireland (Vampire Legend))

Adryanna, a Lathe Sith, mourns the death of her recently mated sister, but she finds solace in the most unlikely place—in the arms of Bram, an Oiche Sith. She should fear him, loathe his existence, but instead she longs for their twilight embraces. Bram admires Adryanna’s strength and wishes only to protect her, even if it’s from him.

If Bram cannot find a way for Adryanna to survive the blooding ritual the romance is doomed. They seek help from Sheerin, Bram’s cousin, who believes he’s found a way for the Lathe Sith to survive, but others in the Oiche Sith clan do not wish for them to succeed.

Mr. O'Grady's Magic Box: (40k novel (Sweet Romance /Contemporary)

This sweet tale surrounds Aubrey and Ian. They shared a whirlwind romance, but it ended abruptly with no closure.  Aubrey's arrival at the inn will give Ian a chance to explain why he left her,  but will it be enough for her to forgive him? Can a romance gone wrong be rekindle into something more profound?

Blurb: Aubrey Jules, a reporter from Unbelievable Finds is sent to investigate a box, which is reputably older than time and crafted by the wee folks. Mr. O’Grady, owner of the bed and breakfast in Dana Point, California, convinces Aubrey to wish for a soul mate. When Ian Quinn, who abandoned Aubrey ten years ago, walks in she’s convinced the fairies have a wicked sense of humor.

The scene: This takes place a few paragraphs from last week's snippet #7. The water spirits have flooded the valley and Druid Daly arrives to confront the person responsible for allowing the spirits to escape. Gordana faces Druid Daly to explain what happened at the well.

***************************************************************************************

“My son was playin’ near the fire, and I feared for his life. I...must have forgotten to replace the lid over the well. I’m so, so sorry.”

Druid Daly remained silent for so long, the clan’s murmurs stilled. Alan wondered if Druid Daly had not heard his sister’s plea for forgiveness, but then the Druid’s expression changed. A gasp from someone in the crowd made Gordana lift her head to look at the druid. She took a step back, but hands from behind her pushed her forward, preventing her from retreating.

Druid Daly’s light blue eyes blazed with fury, making them look like shards of broken glass. “Ye forgot?”

***************************************************************************************

Druid Daly does not seem pleased, does he? Like always, I would love to know your thoughts about the snippet. :)

It’s Read an E-Book Week!

1935-ebook-sm Ever wonder where the idea of the E-Reader first started?

The technology was first designed in 1935 and the invention was featured in the April 1935 edition of “Everyday Science and Mechanic’. How would you like to cart that around?

What do you think? Does it seem like they were trying to involve TV with a little light reading? Yep, and it's men friendly. See the remote control? lol

Almost 80 years later and we finally have the E-Reader in our hands. I don’t leave home without mine.IMG_1912

IMG_1906I personally love my Kindle Fire HD. I'll just touch on a few of the features I enjoy.

1. It's in color!

2. I can view the book covers on a virtual shelf for easy access in finding my next read. You have a choice of viewing by author or by title, too.

3. I have access to the Internet. (Facebook, Audible, etc)

4. There's the "text-to-speech" feature I use a lot while I'm driving to and from work.

There are many more features, but those are my favorites. What E-Reader do you like the best and why?
