YES!
Brilliance from writer A.L. Kennedy on the Secret Joy of Distraction which pretty much sums up my current state of mind:
HEXBOUND, in all its ghosty/vampirey/magical glory, is my current "nasty patio." (That sounds so much less banal tha...
. . . It may be that we now know how we staggered to the end of the previous books
– but that doesn't mean we'll have a clue whether we'll navigate this one to its
close or simply expire half-way across its nasty patio, still within sight of
its cheap front door.

Cast of Characters - Dark Elite
Here's a sampling of famous folks who remind me of the characters in the Dark Elite series.
And remember--if someone isn't pictured, it's merely because I haven't found an actor/model/etc. who fits my mental image. (And Lily, of course, is the model on the cover of FIRESPELL.)
Jason Shepherd - Actor Chris Pine
Scout Green - Unknown model (Via AdornInc.)
This model isn't exactly what Scout looks like, but I think the vibe and attitude are right on.

Foodie Friday
Just a little FYI, that if you're looking for fabulous recipes (and even more fabulous photography), check out Smitten Kitchen.
I've made her pumpkin muffins (just the right amount of spice), her oatmeal, chocolate chip & pecan cookies (amazing, and the dough freezes well), and her thick, chewy, oatmeal cookies (also freeze well).
I think the black-bottom cupcakes are going to be next on my list.

Read. Write. Read. Write. Rinse. Repeat.
Advice from Editorial Anonymous, in response to a reader question:
There are different definitions of what makes a writer "great", and the ways
that different writers go about being their version of great varies a great
deal, too. So unfortunately there is no simple formula for greatness. But I do
strongly recommend reading every day and writing every day, faithfully and
persistently, and wanting to live the rest of your life that way. Greatness is
not achieved through a passing interest or...

I'm really digging Morgan for some reason! I LOVE him. Of
course last book he and Merit were arguing more, but hopefully they'll patch
things up soon.

Ethan? Morgan? Catcher? It's Time For A Debate!
After a fervent Tweet war over the best Chicagoland Vampire (or sorcerer), readers Tasha, Colette and Mandi have agreed to offer up a point/counterpoint/counterpoint on three CV favorites: Ethan, Morgan and Catcher. Ladies, take it away!
> TEAM ETHAN (Colette of A Buckeye Girl Reads)
I'm totally in love with Ethan. He's hot, sexy and mysterious. All three of the major ingredients needed for a ideal hero. He's older, wiser, and can take anything that Merit throws at him. He's not afraid to...
