At Least 10 States Pondering 40-Plus Bills Tightening Voter ID Requirements

In 10 state legislatures across the nation, more than 40 bills proposing new or more stringent voter identification requirements for registration or in-person voting had been introduced as of Feb. 11, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL).
Missouri and Virginia account for 24 of the 40 bills.
Missouri lawmakers are pondering 13 voter ID bills as part of a package spearheaded by Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, who has called for a bill requiring a state or federal photo ID to vote in person.
The 11 bills in Virginia are in response to the 2021 adoption of the Voting Rights Act of Virginia before Republicans won the governorship and retook control of the House of Delegates last November.
The Voting Rights Act of Virginia “effectively eliminated ID requirements when Democrats had control. The ID requirement is still on the books b …

Fauci: ‘No Magic Number’ of Cases for Pandemic to End, ‘Don’t Know’ Number for Decision Metrics ‘Yet’

During an interview with ABC News on Wednesday, White House Chief Medical Adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci responded to a question on what the threshold of cases that would cause him to determine the coronavirus pandemic has passed is by saying that “there’s no magic number” and that metrics for making decisions will look more at the rates of severe disease and hospitalizations over infection rates, but “We don’t know what that number is yet.”
Host Linsey Davis asked, “[O]ur country, right now, at least, is still seeing about 147,000 new cases of COVID per day. But what would that threshold be in the future for you to say, okay, the pandemic has passed?”
Fauci responded, “You know, there’s no magic number. But you want is to make sure the trajectory keeps going down and down and down. And I think the important issue, and that …

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reacted to Special Counsel John Durham’s latest filing, criticizing former President Trump and Fox News for “desperately spinning up a fake scandal to distract from his real ones.“The former 2016 Democratic presidential nominee tweeted Wednesday, in her first public statement reacting to Durham’s Feb. 11 federal court filing, which Fox News first reported Saturday. Durham’s filing alleged a “Tech Executive‑1,” now identified as Rodney Joffe, and his associates, including a lawyer for her presidential campaign, Michael Sussmann, “exploited” internet traffic pertaining to a “particular healthcare provider,” Trump Tower, Trump’s Central Park West apartment building, and the Executive Office of the President of the United States in order to “establish ‘an inference’ and ‘narrative’” to then bring to federal government agencie …

Jobless claims rise to 248,000

The number of new applications for unemployment benefits rose by 23,000 last week to 248,000.
Weekly jobless claims are seen as a proxy for layoffs and have been watched closely in recent weeks for indications about how the omicron variant of COVID-19 has been affecting the labor market.

Apart from a small omicron jump, jobless claims have been in a steady decline over the last year. Around this time in February 2021, new claims were averaging more than 800,000 per week.
STRONG JOBS REPORT SHOWS PUBLIC INCREASINGLY SHAKING OFF COVID-19
Job growth, meanwhile, has been strong. The economy shattered expectations last month and added 467,000 jobs, much more than economists anticipated. Additionally, November and December’s worse-than-forecast reports were revised up by a weighty 710,000 jobs.
Still, the economy is many jobs short of pre-pandemic levels, when unemployment sat at an ultra-low 3.5%. The current 4% unemployment rate is slightly up from December, although that is because of an increase in the country’s labor force participation rate.

The most pressing problem facing officials right now, though, is inflation. Last week’s report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics found that consumer prices have increased by a colossal 7.5% for the 12 …

Bird Flu Detected in Kentucky, Virginia, Indiana as Outbreak Spreads

Authorities with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said bird influenza has now been detected in flocks of birds in Kentucky and Virginia, just days after the officials said that thousands of birds were sickened with the flu in Indiana.

According to the agency, bird flu was found in Fauquier County, Virginia; and in Fulton County, Kentucky, on Feb. 12, in non-poultry birds and commercial broiler chickens, respectively. On Feb. 8, bird influenza was detected in commercial turkeys in Dubois County, Indiana.

In a statement, the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service did not say whether the outbreak involved H5N1, the same highly pathogenic virus found extensively in wild birds and on the Indiana turkey farm.

Citing the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the USDA said that “these avian influenza detections do not present an immediate public health concern.”

“No human cases of these avian influenza viruses have been detected in the United States. As a reminder, the proper handling and cooking of poultry and eggs to an internal temperature of 165 [degrees] F kills bacteria and viruses,” the agency added.

The broiler chickens in Fulton County, located near the border with Tennessee, were infected with the same H5N1 strain of highly pathogenic avian flu as the turkeys in Indiana, Kentucky officials told Reuters. They said it is Kentucky’s first outbreak of the highly lethal bird flu, which killed more than 50 million U.S. chickens and turkeys in 2015.

Tyson Foods Inc. confirmed that a flock of about 240,000 chickens tested positive.

The disease is hitting the market as poultry supplies are down due to strong demand and labor shortages at meat plants during the COVID-19 pandemic. Government data showed U.S. frozen chicken supplies were down 14 percent from a year ago at the end of December while turkey inventories were down 23 percent.… KEEP READING»>

Youngkin ’empowering parents’ vs masks

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin said on Wednesday that his bill ending the mask mandate in schools is to reinforce to parents that they have a right to choose.“Virginia has been leading, Virginia will continue to lead, I’m very excited that a bipartisan group came together to pass this bill, which I will sign into Virginia law and we will make it very clear that parents, in fact, have the right to make a decision with regards to whether their child wears a mask or not,” Youngkin told “America Reports.” YOUNGKIN BLASTS MEDIA ‘MISPERCEPTIONS’ OF HIS SCHOOL MASKING POLICIESYoungkin vowed to sign a bill Wednesday that will give parents the choice to opt out of school mask mandates. The legislation cleared both the Virginia Senate and House over the last week.“If Youngkin attaches an emergency clause, it will take effect immediately. If he does, the bill will go back to the legislature, where it will require a majority vote from each chamber, which could take just a matter of days. Without the emergency clause, the bill wouldn’t take effect until July 1,” according to FOX 5.Youngkin said school districts will not be able to enforce their own mandate despite Virginia law banning mask mandates in schools.“Well, this is goi …

AOC Brags: Helping TONS of Illegals Get Fed $

Speaking about what she’s accomplished for her district, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez saw getting federal tax dollars for illegal aliens as a top achievement.‘We fought tooth and nail for the inclusion of undocumented people in relief packages, stimulus checks, FEMA assistance, and we’ve actually helped huge amounts of undocumented families in our district get federal relief that many were trying to lock them out of,” she said.
Watch below:

Roughly a quarter of AOC’s district are non-citizens, though that includes legal immigrant non-citizens in addition to illegal aliens.

Being “Pro-Trump” is a Factor That will Decide if Your Bank Account is Frozen.… (VIDEO)

Trudeau is also using the Emergency Orders to freeze personal accounts of people who donated to the trucker convoy.

Christian crowdfunding platform GiveSendGo was back online Tuesday after being hacked by crazy leftists.

The platform has been under attack for hosting a fundraiser for the Canadian trucker Freedom Convoy and refusing to comply with an order from the Canadian government to freeze the funds.

Now the donors to the freedom convoy are being harassed, threatened and fired.

Trudeau’s Justice Minister on convoy supporters: “If you are a member of a pro-Trump movement who’s donating… you ought to be worried” about your bank account being frozen.

GOP decries cost of Pentagon diversity training

“We face real threats across the world, yet the Biden administration is more focused on promoting its leftist social agenda in the military instead of countering China, Russia and Iran or creating an effective counterterrorism plan,” said Inhofe, Roger Wicker of Mississippi, Deb Fischer of Nebraska, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Mike Rounds of South Dakota, Joni Ernst of Iowa, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, Rick Scott of Florida, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama.“We are alarmed that so much training time and taxpayer money was devoted to a partisan, political agenda instead of recruiting, training and equipping the lethal force we need to defend this country,” they added. “The Department of Defense’s primary task is to protect Americans from foreign threats. If the Biden administration doesn’t make this a priority moving forward, we will use all tools at our disposal, including the annual defense authorization bill, to ensure that it does.”Aides to Milley did not immediately reply to a request for comment on the GOP senators’ statement. But Democrats, in statements to CQ Roll Call on Tuesday, hit back hard at the charges.“It concerns me that these senators would choose to advance this narrative dog whistle during Black History Month, ignoring the valid concerns of servicemembers of color and minimizing the threat extremism poses to our national security,” said Br …

How Spec Ops training can kill

As was reported in multiple news outlets on February 5th, 2022, a trainee in Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training recently died shortly after completing the rigorous 5‑day period of First Phase training known as Hell Week. Per news reports, the trainee was hospitalized a short time — possibly 2 hours — after Hell Week ended, along with a second trainee who was still being treated as of the writing of this article. The trainee who perished was identified as 24-year-old U.S. Navy Seaman Kyle Mullen, from New Jersey.

In addition, U.S. Army Special Forces training has also reportedly suffered two fatalities recently, although no details have yet been publicly released, and those fatalities, as well as their causes, cannot be confirmed by this author.

While all branches take safety precautions very seriously, the nature of special operations work, and therefore its training, is inherently dangero …
