Iran hard-liners love new missile

“The precise, radar-evading and pinpointing missile is capable of dealing maximum blows on the Zionist regime in any potential confrontation,” read an editorial in hard-line newspaper Khorasan Feb. 10.The piece outlined the features of the “Kheybar-Shekan,” a new long-range missile unveiled by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on Wednesday.

The Persian name for the missile means “the smasher of Kheybar,” a significant historical allusion. “Kheybar” refers to a seventh century oasis that hosted a group of Jews who according to Islamic documents were defeated by forces loyal to the Prophet Muhammad before surrendering and handing over their wealth.

During an unveiling ceremony, the IRGC’s missile program chief, Brig. Gen. Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, said Iran’s latest missile has a range of 1,450 kilometers (900 miles).

In its front-page article, “The nightmare of the Zionists,” Khorasan described the name of the projectile as “a signifier of the IRGC’s purpose behind developing it.”

“It is crystal clear that Iran has built the missile t …

Idiot AOC: “Texas turning blue. Inevitable!”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez campaigned Saturday in San Antonio on behalf of two young progressives. Early voting in Texas for primary races begins March 1. AOC was there to pump up the crowd and get out the vote. What better way than to say that it is inevitable that Texas becomes a blue state and that is how “we flip the country?”The timing alone of this focus on Texas by the leader of The Squad is interesting. Given that there is a red tsunami predicted in the 2022 midterm elections across the country, giving loyal Democrats, especially those of the far-left wing of the party, false hope almost seems cruel. November 2022 will be Lucy and the football all over again for Beto-maniacs and other loony leftists i …

Origin of America’s obligations to Ukraine

While the world watches as negotiations between NATO and Russia seem relentlessly gridlocked, many might find themselves asking the question: Does the West actually have an obligation to provide Ukraine protection?

In a scenario that turns back the clock 30-plus years, NATO and its partners have an ideological interest in maintaining a democratic nation’s sovereignty as it stands against Moscow. But in a move that suggests a less interventionist philosophy than years past, U.S. and coalition forces just withdrew from Afghanistan several months ago as it faced a similarly grim fate. What is it that prevents the U.S. (and Britain) from stepping away from this conflict as well? While that is a complicated question, and at least part of the answer is the Budapest Memorandum.

To better un …

Jaw-Dropping Satellite Images Show Why the Olympics Shouldn’t Be in China

The International Olympic Committee has faced ongoing criticism over its decision to award the 2022 Winter Games to the high-tech, modern-day dystopia that is communist China, attacks that have in no way died down as the Games have panned out.

The Chinese Communist Party did its part to signal to the world that its mistreatment of the Uyghur population is totally not genocide, selecting a Uyghur athlete to light the Olympic torch, which was somehow meant to dispel concerns about all the ethnic minorities holed up in concentration camps in the Xinjiang province…CONTINUE READING»>

WashPost ‘Fact Checker’ Joins Assault on Free Beacon Crack-Pipe Subsidy Story

It’s amazing how the “independent fact checkers” show up to try and “correct” conservative reporting that embarrasses the Biden administration. First, it was Snopes that tried to claim the Washington Free Beacon’s story on plans to provide free drug paraphernalia (including crack pipes?) for “harm reduction” was “Mostly False.” Now Washington Post Pinocchio-peddler Glenn Kessler is taking a turn, but only as an “analysis.” He concluded it’s “complex.“Kessler’s headline was Viral article that unleashed ‘crack pipe’ firestorm relied on assumptions.” Yes, Glenn, there were “assumptions” because Biden’s bureaucrats would not provide specifics!

Brent Scher, executive editor at the Free Beacon, responded to our questions. “You are correct that the spokesman did not specifically say pipes in response to our questions, one of which was what is in the smoking kits,” he said in an email. “They said they would not specify what is in the kits. Our follow up was to verify that the kits were in fact for smoking crack, which they confirmed. Based on what has been put in crack smoking kits across the country, we reported that the government would be funding crack pipes. This is what smoking kits are.”

But Kessler let the goverment accuse the conservatives of “jumping to conclusions” when they wouldn’t specify.

Jorge Silva, HHS deputy assistant secretary for public affairs, said in a phone interview that Hauf jumped to a conclusion th …

Washington Post’s Fairy Tale on Pennsylvania Voter Fraud

You can’t make it up. Unless, of course, you’re at The Washington Post. The other day, Post columnist Greg Sargent wrote a column with the title:

GOP candidates add a repulsive new twist to Trump’s ‘big lie’

In which Sargent writes this of GOP Senate candidates in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Ohio and Nevada, bold print for emphasis supplied:

It’s hardly surprising to hear that Republican Senate candidates are campaigning on the “big lie” that the 2020 election was riddled with fraud. This has become so routine that it’s no longer treated as newsworthy, which further normalizes it, a terrible development that we should resist.

But at least four of these candidates have added an even more repulsive twist: In inventing widespread fraud in 2020, they go out of their way to emphasize that it took place primarily in urban centers.

What is it about urban centers that might make this lie attractive to GOP candidates?

Sargent goes on to say this happens because of — but of course — race. Then he says this:

Republicans trafficking in this are following a path blazed by Donald Trump. Fake GOP claims of voter fraud to justify voter suppression are an old story, of course. But Trump added his own toxic ingredients to the stew: a more explicit focus on cities, to create a pretext for express efforts to overturn election losses.

H …

Real Wages Have Declined By This Much Since Biden Took Office

President Biden recently marked one year in office. He’s giving himself high marks for his handling of the economy so far, recently tweeting that “the Biden economic plan is working, folks.”That’s not what the numbers show.
Devastating new data reveal that while nominal wages have risen over the last year, Americans’ real wages have declined.
Your nominal wage is the number that shows up on your paycheck. Your real wage is what your paycheck can buy you—basically, your wages relative to inflation.
When we look at this much more important metric, the “Biden economic plan” doesn’t look so hot after all.
The latest inflation data show consumer prices rising 7.5% from January 2021 to January 2022, Biden’s first year in office. Over that same time period, wages rose just 5.7%.
As a result, real wages have fallen 1.7%. That means Americans’ actual purchasing power has dropped—aka, workers have gotten poorer.
Image Credit: Andy PuzderBiden’s defenders might blame the pandemic, which certainly isn’t in the president’s control, for the sluggish wage growth and surging inflation. But as the above graph shows, the economy under President Trump in 2020 was not experiencing these same prob …

Lax IRS oversight leads to over $15B in questionable low-income housing tax credit claims

This week’s Golden Horseshoe is awarded to the IRS for a lack of oversight that led to $15.6 billion in questionable Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) on more than 68,000 claims, according to an audit report by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).“There were potentially large dollar amounts of questionable LIHTC claims based on information from key forms and schedules submitted to the IRS,” the watchdog found.
Filed over tax years 2015–2019, the questionable claims “lacked or did not match supporting documentation due to potential reporting errors or noncompliance,” according to the IG report.
The inspector general found “significant issues” with the reliability of data, reconciliation discrepancies, and other issues on the forms submitted to the IRS.
“We reviewed the IRS’s processes and procedures to ensure [housing credit agency (HCA)], building owner, and taxpayer compliance with LIHTC provisions and found signifi …

Trump demands prosecutions, reparations after explosive revelations in Durham court filing

Former President Donald Trump demanded Saturday that there be prosecutions and reparations after Special Counsel John Durham revealed in an explosive court filing that Hillary Clinton’s campaign plotted to infiltrate the Trump campaign and White House computer servers years ago to concoct false Russia collusion allegations.Durham’s latest court filing “provides indisputable evidence that my campaign and presidency were spied on by operatives paid by the Hillary Clinton Campaign in an effort to develop a completely fabricated connection to Russia,” Trump said.
“This is a scandal far greater in scope and magnitude than Watergate and those who were involved in and knew about this spying operation should be subject to criminal prosecution,” he added. “In a stronger period of time in our country, this crime would have been punishable b …

Ron DeSantis: Florida Parents Should Have the Right to Sue for Negative Effects of School Districts’ Forced Masking

Gov. Ron DeSantis ® on Friday said he does not necessarily support penalizing school districts who defied the state’s ban on mandatory masking in schools, but suggested that parents should have the right to sue if their children have any negative effects from the forced masking policy.
Speaking from Jackson County, DeSantis weighed in on the chatter over state legislation which could result in 12 school districts losing a collective $200 million for originally disregarding the state’s action against forced masking in schools over parental objections.
“It was in litigation. We won all that and we had the legislature come in and finally put the kibosh on all of that,” the governor said. However, he said the proposed legislation may not be the best route to go, given that it could wrongly penalize students and teachers.
He explained his reasoning:
My view on that is, rather than take money that may penalize a teacher or student because of the actions of some union-controlled school board member, my view would be let’s not do tha …
