Half the Internet (Briefly) Died While You Were Sleeping
A widespread outage that affected many websites has apparently been resolved.
The Independent newspaper reported that the issue appeared to be the result of problems at Cloudflare, the internet infrastructure provider powering much of the web.
People trying to view the affected websites were greeted with error messages.
TechCrunch said Cloudflare resolved the problem about an hour after users began reporting issues on Tuesday.
Popular websites, including Medium and DoorDash, were affected, TechCrunch noted. Cloudflare did not reveal what caused the outage or what it did to resolve the issue, TechCrunch said.

Clyburn responded, “Well, for a lot of people, we are. There’s no question about that. If you can’t afford to buy gasoline, you are in a recession. The investor class in this country is …

Stephen Colbert addressed the recent arrests of his crew and production members, who were caught and charged with being in an unauthorized area of a U.S. Capitol building last week.
During Monday night’s “Late Show,” Colbert downplayed the arrests as a “very professional” interaction between his staff and “cautious” Capitol Police officers.
The host opened the show by asking the audience about their weekends before joking, “Well, I had an interesting one and some members of my staff had a memorable one.”
Comedian and TV host Stephen Colbert addressed the recent arrests of his crew and production members in an unauthorized area of a U.S. Capitol building.
“The Capitol police were just doing their job, my staff was just doing their job, everyone was very professional, everyone was very calm,” the host continued. “My staffers were detained, processed and released. A very unpleasant experience for my staff.

Senior Biden Adviser Faces Ethics Complaint

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
FIRST ON FOX: White House senior adviser Anita Dunn is facing an ethics complaint from a government watchdog group amid her return to the West Wing for the third time during the Biden administration.Fox News Digital exclusively obtained the ethics complaint filed by the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), a government ethics watchdog, against Dunn for her “failure to file the required personal financial disclosure” ahead of her return to the White House.FACT also called on the White House Office of Government Ethics (OGE) to take action regarding her lack of personal financial disclosure.TOP WH ADVISER ANITA DUNN DODGING PUBLIC ETHICS DISCLOSURE
The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) filed an ethics complaint against returning White House adviser Anita Dunn for not filing her personal financial disclosure.
(William B. Plowman/NBC/NBC Newswire/NBCUniversal via Getty Images)“Prior to her government employment, Anita Dunn was a founding member of SKDK, a corporate and political consulting firm, and worked for President Biden’s campaign in 2020,” the complaint reads. “Since January 2021, Dunn has either been employed by the White House, worked for SKDK, or both at the same time.”“In spite of her senior advisor positions with the White House, Dunn has not filed a public financial disclosure report,” the complaint continues. “The administration claimed that Dunn did not need to file a public report because she was classified as a ‘special government employee’ and her salary was below the threshold of $132,552 requiring public disclosure.“A White House spokesperson pointed Fox News Digital to reports that Dunn’s more permanent role this time around requires her to sign an ethics pledge as well as submit personal financial disclosures and is under the purview of government ethics rules. The spokesperson did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s follow-up question as to when Dunn would submit her disclosure.FACT wrote that the White House’s claim of Dunn not needing to file personal financial disclosures in her earlier roles “appears to be an intentional attempt to avoid the ethics laws” and the “classification of ‘special government employee’ is someone retained to perform temporary duties of not more than 130 days,” such as someone doing National Guard training.

(Drew Angerer/Getty Images)“The role of ‘senior advisor’ is not a temporary one but rather is a position that is continuous in the administration, demonstrated by the fact that both past and current advisors have filed public financial disclosures, including another senior advisor to President Biden, Mike Donilon,” FACT wrote in the complaint.“Moreover, Dunn’s first period of employment alone was longer than the 130 days of those classified as a special government employee. Her returning multiple times also shows that this is not a temporary position,” FACT continued. “Additionally, Dunn’s salary was $129,000—just below the threshold requiring public disclosure and significantly lower than the $180,000 sala …

Black Lives Matter Wants More Mansions
Black Lives Matter is calling for reparations and urging American businesses to lend their support.“This year, on the first anniversary of Juneteenth’s designation as a federal holiday, it is imperative that our economy, government, and society demonstrate a true commitment to Black emancipation. We want, deserve, and are owed reparations,” the Black Lives Matter Global Network declared in a Medium post.

Last year, President Joe Biden signed legislation to make Juneteenth, which falls on June 19, a federal holiday. BLM suggested that “corporations can and must pave the way for reparations in this country.”“Today, we call upon the same companies who rapidly rallied behind the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020: Step into the fullness of your financial positioning and power. Act on your claims to value Black life via holistic reparations for Black communities and push for reparations,” BLM declared.“While w …

Rep. “Concerned” About Trump Picks in DOJ

House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D‑SC) shared concerns about “carryovers” from the Trump administration in the Justice Department.
The congressman talked about what he is hearing from voters in several states during a CNN interview Monday that turned to whether former President Donald Trump will be prosecuted.
“I’m not going to zero in on the prosecution of Donald Trump. I do have some concerns about what seems to be some reticence coming from the department as to how to ratchet up these investigations,” Clyburn told anchor John Berman.
REPUBLICANS DEMAND SECURITY FOOTAGE OF COLBERT TEAM ARRESTS
The Democrat was referring to anxiety about whether the Justice Department, under Attorney General Merrick Garland, will pursue charges against Trump in connection to the Capitol riot and efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. The Justice Department is already in the midst of hundreds of prosecutions of the rioters themselves.
“You know, I just came out of a primary election here in South Carolina,” he added. “I got elected — renominated last week. And I’m talking to voters. I’ve been in Florida, Georgia, Connecticut, New Jersey, Michigan, all in the last 30 days, and I’m telling you, people are concerned that the Department of Justice may have too many carryovers from the last administration and [is] not moving in order to do what’s needed to protect this democracy.”
Clyburn did not mention any specific officials within the Justice Department.

Our Tax $ Paying for Upkeep of Seized Russian Yachts

President Joe Biden’s National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan revealed that the U.S. federal government is using taxpayer cash to maintain seized Russian yachts, according to a report from Insider. The accidental admission – caught on a “hot mic” – came during an event at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) on June 16th.
Sullivan – who many suspect is compromised by the Chinese Communist Party – was speaking with Richard Fontaine, chief executive officer of the CNAS, about the White House’s effort to seize Russian assets including yachts amidst the ongoing war in Ukraine when he made the remarks.
In a livestream video of the event uploaded to YouTube, which has since been deleted, the pair’s personal conversation before the publicized discussion portion of the CNAS was included.
I previously wrote how the popular seizure of yachts was ignoring legal and practical problems, including the cost of maintenance. Those costs are now mounting. https://t.co/PDuuE9QIaK Some of these yachts may have to be returned with tax-funded repairs. https://t.co/GgNipe6aKs

States’ Power to Regulate Elections, SCOTUS Likely to Hear

The ‘independent state legislature doctrine’ is a longtime favorite of conservative legal thinkersNews Analysis
The Supreme Court seems likely to accept a new election law case that Republicans hope will recognize what they say is the preeminent constitutional authority of state legislatures to set the rules for redistricting and congressional and presidential elections, as well as curb the power of state courts to intervene in such disputes.
“The U.S. Constitution is crystal clear: state legislatures are responsible for drawing congressional maps, not state court judges, and certainly not with the aid of partisan political operatives,” Tim Moore, a Republican who is the speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives, said in March when he launched an appeal of his state Supreme Court’s order redrawing the state’s electoral map against the wishes of the state’s GOP-majority legislature.
“We are hopeful that the Supreme Court will reaffirm this basic principle and will throw out the illegal map imposed on the people of North Carolina by its highest court. It is time to settle the elections clause question once and f …

Illegals Getting Dumped Into Small Towns Now

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) plans to bus immigrants from border towns to several U.S. cities, including Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Albuquerque, reported The New York Post.
Other possible locations to relocate migrants include smaller towns, which might not have the resources to deal with a large influx of migrants, according to critics.
Representative August Pfluger told the Post that border officials have placed their sights on San Angelo, Texas, which is about three hours away from the U.S.-Mexico border.

“San Angelo is a welcoming community, but the locality has not volunteered for this mission, nor are they responsible for the burdens of the border crisis,” said Pfluger, who represents the area in Congress.
“This situation is a direct result of [the Department of Homeland Security’s] shortsighted policies that encourage more illegal immigration and the agency’s failure to establish operational control of the southern border.”

Schiff Grilled Over Avoiding J6 Witnesses
CNN anchor Dana Bash grilled January 6th Committee member and Congressman Adam Schiff (D‑CA) during a Sunday morning interview, asking him directly why the committee had not publicly interviewed any witnesses who might “challenge” the narrative.
Bash spoke to Schiff about the ongoing public committee hearings on “State of the Union,” pressing him several times — to no avail — to reveal the evidence he claimed to have that former President Donald Trump had been involved in plans to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
WATCH: Dana Bash grills Rep. Adam Schiff over not calling witnesses who “challenge” the Democrat narrative in #January6thHearings: “Is that intentional because you don’t want to deviate from the story line that you’re trying to present to the public?”

Bash pressed Schiff on what might come next if such evidence should come to light, asking, “Have you seen evidence that the Justice Department has already opened an investigation into the former president?”Schiff said that nothing in the public record indicated the Justice Department had begun to move in that direction. “I have not seen, for example, grand juries convene in places they would be convened,” he explained.“You’ve been critical of the Justice Department for moving slowly. If you’ve done so much work, why not help them out?” Bash continued, asking why the January 6th Committee would not pass anything they discovered directly on to the DOJ.“Well, you know, we certainly will help them. We want them to particularize what they’re asking for and it’s our intention when we conclude the investigation to make public our findings in great detail,” Schiff replied …
