Former Obama Economist Says Stagflation Threat the “Highest in a Long Time”
Thomas Hoenig, the former Kansas City Federal Reserve president, weighs in, arguing that a ‘recession is a fair call.’ The danger of the U.S. economy returning to a 1970s-style stagflation scenario is the highest it’s been in decades, according to former President Barack Obama’s top economic adviser. Jason Furman, a Harvard University professor who previously served as chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, warned that an aggressive Federal Reserve, rising interest rates and persistently high inflation have raised the possibility of a period of stagnant economic growth and high consumer prices.“It’s a real risk,” Furman said during an interview with FOX Business. “It’s the biggest risk of stagflation we’ve had in a long time. But it’s not a guarantee that the economy goes into recession. Consumers still have a lot of money. They’re still spending. Former Trump DOJ Official Describes Politically Motivated FBI Raid
The political weaponization of the FBI continued apace on Wednesday after multiple raids were carried out in conjunction with the aftermath of the 2020 election. As RedState reported, things started in Nevada, where the state’s GOP chairman had his phone seized over a so-called “fake electors” scheme.That kind of sensationalism is meant to obscure the abuse, though. Nothing illegal was even attempted, and the idea of electors voting contrary to state results was pushed heavily by Democrats following the 2016 election.
Of course, everything is always simpler when it’s not sensationalized. So what did this “fake electors” scheme entail? All it entailed was some Republican electors pledging to vote for Donald Trump. As the report notes, that move was purely ceremonial and held no legal weight. No one ever actually tried to pass off any alternate electors to change the outcome of the election, and in the end, Nevada’s electors went to Biden.

Camera Catches Embarassing Orders Biden Was Given On Notecard
President Joe Biden held a note card Thursday appearing to show very detailed instructions for the president to follow and, to be honest, we cannot believe they are real.
The card has several bullet points listed, including some very basic instructions.
“YOU enter the Roosevelt Room and say hello to participants,” the first bullet reads.
“YOU take YOUR seat.”
“Press enters.”
“YOU give brief comment,” the card continues.
“YOU thank participants.”
Next time someone tries to tell you Joe Biden isn’t a geriatric nursing home patient trapped in the White House, show them this.
He needs a notecard with step by step directions telling him what to do, including “YOU take YOUR seat”.

WH Note to Biden for Meeting: “Take Your Seat”
Something notable happened with President Joe Biden on Thursday.
The commander in chief showed off a card at a White House meeting with wind industry leaders that gave him simple instructions on what to do or say. Among the directions on the cheat sheet, captured in a Getty Images photo, was “YOU take YOUR seat” after entering the room.
The 79-year-old Biden, whose age has caused some concern in some Democratic circles looking ahead to the 2024 election, was also instructed to keep his remarks “brief,” with the notes spelling out two minutes, and asking Liz Shuler, president of the AFL-CIO, a question after reporters depart the room. Then, the card’s list says, “YOU thank participants” and “YOU depart.”
The Republican National Committee shared the “White House instructions” on Twitter, and others took the opportunity to take jabs at the president. “Good grief,” Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume said.

GOP House Leadership Will Vote Against Senate Gun Control Bill
The top three House Republicans say they will vote against the bipartisan Senate gun bill and will actively whip votes against it.Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R‑Calif.) and Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R‑La.) told Congressional Republicans during a Wednesday conference that they will vote against the bill.
Fox News also reported that Scalise will ask members to vote “no” on the legislation.
House GOP Conference Chairwoman, the chamber’s No. 3 Republican, also released a statement Wednesday saying she will vote against the bill.
“As this blatant government overreach seeks to make gun owners second-class citizens, I will continue to stand up for the Constitution and push for solutions, including advocating for increased mental health resources across the country,” the New York congresswoman said in a statement about her planned “no” vote.

Jussie Smollett Continues Greatest Method Acting Performance of All Time
Disgraced actor Jussie Smollett professed his innocence and insisted he’s “not a piece of s–t.”
Smollett, who was found to have paid two men to pretend to be racist and homophobic Donald Trump supporters and attack him with a noose and bleach, was sprung from a Chicago jail in March after serving a six-day sentence.
The 40-year-old actor addressed his highly publicized trial on Sway Calloway’s SiriusXM show, “Sway in the Morning”, claiming he did not lie about the attack.
“If I had done this, I’d be a piece of s–t. And I don’t think that’s really questionable,” Smollett said in the episode aired on Monday.
Smollett — best known for his role as Jamal Lyon on Fox’s “Empire” — said him being a black gay man makes it impossible for him to stage the attack.
“If I had done something like this, it would mean that I stuck my fist in the pain of black African Americans in this country for over 400 years,” he told Sway.
