Snow Day

Holy balls! These snow days are killing me. I really enjoy cold weather but these heavy snow falls are getting to me. I’ve spent better part of the afternoon shoveling snow. Tomorrow, more shoveling. I haven’t finish the long common driveway. What I would give for a flame thrower…

The good news is that with nowhere for me to go, I’ve spent most of the day writing and drawing, and catching up on my shows. (Man, I love “Fringe”.) I’ve made a moderate dent on my workload which I’m very happy about. I’m trying to finish couple of pages of the Jungle Queen story so that I can give you guys a sneak peek this weekend. I also managed to pencil couple of pages of “Ghost Dog”, the secret project that I’m doing with my buddy, Tom Sniegoski.

If this snow keeps falling, I may actually catch up on my work.

Empire of the Dead #1 Cover

Hey, gang. Here’s the giant finished variant cover of George Romero’s Empire of the Dead #1. My main man, Jason Keith, colored this bad boy. I believe this book will hit the store this Wednesday

Even though I did the cover, I have no idea what the story is about. I remember I was super stressed out about drawing this cover since I received vague description of the overall story and characters. (Vampires rule the zombie filled world.) I was literally flying blind. So I just made up this image of zombies pulling the chariot of their vampire overlords. I have no idea if this scene or anything remotely resembling this concept is in the story.

So I’m excited and curious to see this book when it comes out, and finally read the story.

Real Heroes

I just finished “Real Heroes” cover for Bryan Hitch’s creator-owned project at Image Comics. It’s a crazy science fiction/Hollywood action romp. Top notch all the way. The first issue is slated for March. Once it’s beautifully colored by Laura Martin, I’ll post the final colored image.

Next up on my plate is the Medusa cover for Marvel. They changed the storyline after I completed the cover so I had to tweak it to reflect the new storyline. Nothing major. A quick and easy fix. Afterward, I’m going to try to make a big dent in the “Drawing Beautiful Women: The Frank Cho Method” book and “Ghost Dog” project. I’m really trying to manage my work time better and be more productive this year.

So far, so good. Knock on wood.
