Jungle Queen Short Story

Well, I just finished laying out the entire Jungle Queen short story, and I’m in process of drawing and inking the pages. After few years of talking about this creator-owned project and not getting any traction due to my limited time, it was a great relief to finally get all the pages roughly sketched out. (And few completely penciled and inked.)
Once I get this short story finished and in the can, I’ll decide where it will be published. France was my original intent but with the success of the Kickstarter program and several publishers aggressively pursuing my project, I have more options to think over.
Until then, I’m going to keep writing and drawing and put this girl in the can.

I’m in process of finishing up various small projects that have been dogging me for the last few months. Mostly covers for friends and odd commissions here and there. Once I finish these small projects and favors, I’m going to stop doing them until I get all my creator-owned projects out of the way.
That’s one of my New Year’s resolution- stop focusing on making other people happy and start making myself happy by taking care of myself.
This Jungle Queen project is something I’ve been sitting on for several years. But now, I’m gonna make the time and finish up the first part of the story. I’m thinking of including Jungle Queen’s first short story and art, prelims and sketches into the “Drawing Beautiful Women: The Frank Cho Method” book. It will showcase my new creator-owned Jungle Queen character and teach people how I create comic story and art. Kill two birds with one stone.
Stay tuned, folks.
Lot of exciting stuff coming down the pipe.

Black Widow #2 Variant Cover

I just got back from my comic shop (Cards, Comics and Collectibles in Reisterstown, Maryland) and I noticed that the variant cover I did for Black Widow #2 is out. It always surprises me to see my covers on the store shelf since I rarely know when they are published and out. Justin Ponsor, the colorist, did a great job on this.
Well, back at my studio, there’s nothing really new to report. I’m still busy working on “Drawing Beautiful Women: The Frank Cho Method”, my secret “Ghost Dog” project with Tom Sniegoski and I’m putzing around with my Jungle Queen and other creator own projects on the side. I’m making some headways on all the projects mentioned, which isn’t too hard to do since it’s cold as hell outside and I have no desire to travel anywhere right now.
I’ll try to post some art from my creator owned projects later. Until then, stay warm and out of trouble, people.
