Available for Pre-order!

Emily has always felt like a background character in her own life, but she hoped discovering she had magic would change that. Yeah… not so much. Apparently, having magic and being able to use said magic are two very different things. There’s nothing quite like finding out you’re the mystical equivalent of a battery. Oh, and that people are actively trying to capture you so they can power their armies. So, what’s a girl to do? Pose as a high school student at an academy for spell casters, of ...

Book Update!

Hey, everyone! It’s time for another status update.

If you’re on my newsletter list, then you already know I’m working on Beta edits right now. I got notes back from all but one of my editors and was thrilled with the strange things they caught. It is amazing what you miss when you’re editing!

They have also helped me realize that I may not have given you a lot of info on this project. It is not a part of the Refurbished Fairy Tales series, or even a spinoff. This is the start of a contemp...

Progress Report and 2020 Review

For those of you who don’t get the newsletter or follow me on social media (sorry twitter users, I will get better) you probably want a progress report. As of last Saturday (well, one minute into Sunday morning) I finished my line edit. That means I finished doing a line-by-line read-through of my book. That means I’m most of the way through edits. I’m working on grammar edits right now, but this book is much larger than when I started. By over 15,000 words. Right now, I’m hovering right aro...

Beryl’s Fairy Tale

A lot of you have been asking if Beryl is getting her own book. The answer right now is no. Originally, she was going to have a novella that ran parallel to The Phoenix & the Dragon, but then I realized that there was more to say and it would be perfect to just put Beryls story in Rebirth of the Dragons. She was a main character with just as much growth and importance as her sister and if you thought you were getting some Greek vibes, well, here is your answer.

Beryl was acting out the story...

Origins of the Phoenix & the Dragon

Alright folks, I know you’ve been waiting on this but I wasn’t sure when to tell you the origin of The Phoenix & the Dragon and The Rebirth of the Dragons. I figured that it would be best to wait until after the second book came out, so here we are!

This is going to be… a bit nonsensical. The story is a melange (yay! I got to use the word “melange” today!) of dragon and phoenix myths. Let’s start with the Dragon myths first.

St. George and the Dragon

This is an absolutely ridiculous...

Rebirth of the Dragons is up!

Not every plan works out the way that you want.

Smuggling the cure into all the wells of the Dragon’s compounds wouldn’t be easy, but at least Faron finally had a way to help his people. If only that were the only danger he faced. The Council’s assassins, with their poisoned claws and twisted minds, threaten Faron at every turn. But the hardest part of all this? Leaving Pearl in their hands. It seemed like the best way to keep the Council’s eyes off him and spread the cure without interfe...
