Dictionary- Parenting
http://digg.com/tools/diggthis.js
According to Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia, parenting is the process of raising and educating a child from birth until adulthood.
In the case of humans, it is usually done by the biological parents of the child in question [1], although governments and society take a role as well. In many cases, orphaned or abandoned children receive parental care from non-parent blood relations. Others may be adopted, raised by foster care training process, or be placed in an orphanage.
Everyone has a different parenting style. They range from 1 Authoritative parenting to
2 Authoritarian parenting , 3 Permissive parenting , and 4 Neglectful parenting .
Another increasingly popular parenting style is Attachment Parenting
Wikipedia states that, Many attachment parents also choose to live a natural family living (NFL) lifestyle, such as natural childbirth, home birth, stay-at-home parenting, co-sleeping, breastfeeding, babywearing, homeschooling, unschooling, the anti-circumcision movement, the anti-vaccination movement, natural health, cooperative movements, and support of organic food.
I wanted to touch a little bit on parenting because that is one of the main topics of this blog. I know I could dedicate pages and pages on this one single term. I could also break it down into several related topics but I thought it would be best to start with the general parenting word. What are your thoughts? I welcome any comments.

Coronavirus News from Around the World
The World Health Organization has released a report on coronavirus news that says the virus was responsible for the death of two people in Africa. This comes on top of the news that the virus was responsible for the deaths of nearly 4500 people in other regions of Africa.
This is an incredibly contagious virus that can spread through bodily fluids like urine and blood. It’s an issue because the symptoms can resemble many different diseases and people have a tendency to think they have the flu.
The virus has been around for some time and it is still unknown why it is happening. Scientists are still researching it and hope to know why there is so much activity with this disease.
This is the kind of problem that the medical world should be ready for. When there is a new virus that spreads throughout the globe it’s a huge concern and people should be able to recognize the symptoms of the disease.
This virus has the ability to cause a number of symptoms including severe cough, wheezing, and pneumonia. There is also a possibility of meningitis and encephalitis.
There are several different types of medications that people could use to get rid of this virus. These medicines could be in the form of an injection that goes in to the central nervous system to stop the spread of the disease. In addition, they could also be in the form of oral medications to help with the pain and suffering caused by the disease.
If you have an individual who is infected with the virus then there is a possibility that they could develop serious health issues including paralysis or blindness. Because of this there is a real need for proper care and treatment of the condition.
There are still a lot of medical experts that want to know what is causing this virus and are waiting for more information before coming up with any conclusions about it. Hopefully the coronavirus news will be very positive and help to clear up some of the mystery surrounding the disease.
Doctors and medical professionals have a number of theories about how the virus works. For example, they believe that it could be related to viruses that have been circulating in Africa before and continue to be doing so even though the main infection was stopped.
They also believe that it may be related to the SARS virus, which was only a problem for a few years ago and was brought to the forefront in Asia by a small epidemic. This is a virus that is similar to the coronavirus.
This makes it possible that the coronavirus could be an evolution of the SARS virus and not a completely new disease. However, it is extremely unlikely and scientists are hoping that further research will clarify the issue.
People have to be careful when it comes to using treatments that treat this virus because some of these treatments are extremely toxic to humans. Although these treatments are not dangerous to the body, they have been known to cause people to experience long-term health problems if used improperly.
If you have an individual that is currently infected then you must take their situation very seriously and do your best to deal with the virus. Do your research and learn everything that you can about the disease to make sure that you are able to control the disease and get the best care possible.
One of the best ways to control this disease is to get your family to seek medical attention as soon as possible. This way you can reduce the chances of the illness from spreading to others.
It is vital that you stay on top of the situation with each member of your family so that you can all work together in order to get them the proper medical attention they need. Remember that all of your family members are important and should be treated as such.
You can find much information about the disease on the internet by searching and you can also find medical information at human resources. websites dedicated to the subject of coronavirus news.

Is Your Job Putting Your Pregnancy at Risk?

Pregnancy can be emotional, stressful, exciting and sometimes painful. You may become anxious and worry that normal work tasks may be harmful to you and your baby. Set all the anxieties aside. Pregnant women often can keep doing their normal jobs. But if your job requires a lot of heavy lifting, climbing, carrying or standing it may not be safe during pregnancy. Dizziness, nausea, and fatigue which is common in early pregnancy can increase the chance of injury. During the end of pregnancy the extra weight can throw your balance off and lead to falls.
If you are concerned that your job may be harmful to you or your baby‘s health discuss it with your doctor. You may have to cut back on the hours that you are working, give up certain tasks, take on another position or stop working until after the baby is born.
Chemicals, pesticides, cleaning supplies, and metals such as lead can cause serious problems during pregnancy. If you are in contact with these substances during the work day discuss it with your doctor. Women who work in farming, factories, dry cleaners, or printing may be exposed to harmful agents.
Working in health care while pregnant can also be risky. Exposure to viruses like hepatitis B, rubella, and chickenpox can cause miscarriage or birth defects if the mother is infected during pregnancy. Absorbing or breathing medical gases and toxic drugs can pose another danger. Radiation used to take X-rays and to treat cancer can also lead to miscarriage. Most women who work around radiation are protected from exposure.
If you believe that your job is bringing you into contact with something harmful find out for certain by talking to your employee health office, personnel office or union. Then let your doctor know right away and contact a birth injury attorney for information concerning possible outcomes. Check out these sites for workplace safety hazards and tips.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration
National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
Your employer may be able to relieve you of certain duties if the problem can not be fixed. Otherwise your doctor may suggest that you stop working.

Are You Eating Your Feelings? Recognizing Stress and Emotional Eating Patterns and Tips To Help You Cope
Stress eating, or emotional eating, is pretty much what it sounds like — it’s when you eat in order to escape whatever bad feelings you’re experiencing, in the hope that food will make you feel better.
Stress and boredom can trigger emotional eating, particularly when you’re stuck at home and surrounded by food all day long. Those high-calorie comfort foods can stimulate the release of certain chemicals in the brain that make us feel good, but also make us want to keep eating. In a vicious cycle, overeating can lead to weight gain — increasing stress and which, in turn, can lead to more overeating.
How to Recognize Stress Eating Cues.
If you find your eating habits change when you have more stress in your life – if you’re spending more time hanging out in front of your refrigerator or junk-food drawer, you might be stress eating. Other signs to be aware of include eating when you are not hungry or when you’re full, eating to avoid dealing with a stressful situation, eating to soothe your feelings, or using food as a reward.
What’s the Best Way to Prevent Stress Eating?
The most important thing everyone should be doing right now is taking the best possible care of themselves, and that involves practicing good eating habits to keep yourself healthy. Here’s my advice on how to stop emotional eating.
Own up to your feelings.
You know that emotions are the trigger for your stress eating, so why not acknowledge them? It’s OK to feel mad, lonely, or bored sometimes. The feelings may be unpleasant, but they’re not dangerous, and you don’t always need to “fix” them. Let your emotions come and go without judging them.
Find alternatives to eating.
A brisk walk or a cup of herbal tea might work instead. If you feel the need to eat, try hard crunchy foods; they help relieve stress by putting tight jaw muscles to work. Try snacking on a handful of almonds, soy nuts, or baby carrots.
Practice mindful eating.
When you eat mindfully, you try to become more aware of your internal signals of hunger and fullness. You also become more in tune with what triggers you to eat in the first place. Mindful eating can help you avoid overeating and allow you to enjoy your food more—even when you eat less. You can also learn to pay more attention to what you’re choosing to put into your body.
Remember, this is not the time to restrict your intake, but a time to focus on eating the most nutrient-dense foods you can in order to optimize nutrition to support a healthy immune system. This pandemic has undoubtedly added stress to all of our lives but learning how you cope with it can make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger.

Suspect Your Child Has an Eating Disorder? Ask Her Dentist
Over half a million teens struggle with eating disorders, most commonly anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. According to new studies, eating disorders are the third most common chronic disease among adolescents, following obesity and asthma. The American Academy of Pediatrics has published new recommendations for Preventing Obesity and Eating Disorders. Rather than discussing weight loss with your child, they encourage parents to discuss healthy eating habits and exercise.
Eating disorders are serious physical and emotional problems and can have life-threatening consequences. They can also affect productivity and relationships. Dentists commonly witness evidence of eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia represented by specific patterns of tooth erosion, soft tissue changes on the lining of the oropharanx or throat from vomiting as well as a characteristic sweet malodor from ketone acidosis, which is associated with starvation.
It may be difficult to confront your child about a possible eating disorder. Due to the frequency of routine dental visits, children may see their family dentist more regularly than the pediatrician. If you suspect your child has an eating disorder, you may want to inquire with the dentist at her next visit.
Eating disorders are all too common and can affect the entire family. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that families eat meals together to give parents the opportunity to demonstrate healthy choices and to also demonstrate positive body image. Busy schedules often keep us from traditional scheduled mealtimes. Food shopping with your child can provide an opportunity to discuss the nutritional benefits from healthy food choices.
Whether it’s a school nurse, your family dentist, or your child’s pediatrician, the healthcare community is your resource for general health and well being. To learn more about eating disorders, prevention, and treatment, visit the National Eating Disorders website.

What Is the Secret Health Benefits of Kelp?
f you’ve always known that there is something special about the health benefits of seaweed, you’ll be pleased to know that research is now revealing more about the benefits of kelp. Research has shown that eating kelp is not only good for your health, but it can also help your cardiovascular system. Research is also showing that when the body has a regular supply of these nutrients, it is able to maintain a healthy and well-balanced immune system.
If you already have a family history of heart disease, you need to know that kelp has been shown to be rich in a mineral known as vanadium, which has been shown to be an important regulator of blood pressure and insulin. The amount of iodine in kelp can also vary greatly, depending on what it was growing in, the water from which it grew, and other factors. Because of this, it’s important to understand that the best time for consuming kelp is actually during the autumn. This is the time that the sea floor will have the highest levels of vanadium and iodine, making it a perfect food for anyone who wants to eat a nutritious diet.
The potassium in the seaweed helps to regulate the levels of calcium in the body, which means that when the levels of calcium are high, potassium levels are low, creating a balance that is favorable to maintaining a healthy heart. It is also believed that kelp can help prevent blood clots.
Scientists have been testing the ability of kelp to help with low blood pressure, as well as its ability to decrease cholesterol. Kefir, a type of kelp found in natural yogurt, is one of the main ingredients used to make kombucha, which has become quite popular for its many health benefits.
Although low blood pressure is the primary reason for testing the effects of seaweed on the human body, there are some other reasons why it might be useful. It has been shown that when the seaweed is ingested in large amounts, it is able to help with lowering the cholesterol levels of the body. It has also been shown to increase the production of bile acid, which can lower cholesterol levels. Since the bile acid is being produced, there is less chance of toxins being absorbed into the bloodstream.
It also contains natural anti-viral properties that have been shown to kill cancer cells. These properties include reducing the growth of tumors and even improving the health of skin.
Various diseases and conditions are also affected by kelp. For example, in Japan, people who consume kelp on a regular basis have been shown to have a lower risk of prostate and breast cancer. And the scientists in Japan have also been able to show that this is true not only for men but also for women. The scientists have found that in pregnant women, kelp extracts have been shown to reduce the risks of preeclampsia, a condition which is a dangerous pregnancy complication.
A person who has high cholesterol will find that they have better overall health and that their blood pressure levels will be much lower. This is because there is less buildup of fat on the walls of the arteries.

Effective Treatment For Bladder Infections
When you have a urinary infection, it usually leads to bladderitis, which is basically when your bladder inflates and becomes inflamed. This is what causes all the uncomfortable symptoms associated with this condition. A urinary infection is perhaps the most common form of urinary tract infection (UTI). The usual symptoms are burning during urination, pain while urinating, and a constant, irritating urge to urinate that may cause the bladder to involuntarily expel urine. If you think that you or someone that you know has had a urinary infection, here are some treatment options.
One of the more common treatment options for a bladder infection is over the counter medications that can help control the pain and inflammation and help the body fight off the infection. These medications work by keeping the immune system strong and working to prevent the infection from occurring in the first place. These medications include acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Also, if your infection has become chronic or if the symptoms do not seem to improve, you may need to see a doctor to get prescriptions for more powerful drugs.
Over the counter medications are usually effective when bladder infections occur. However, if the symptoms and pain do not go away on their own, or if they are recurring, you may need to seek medical help to treat this condition.
If these treatments do not work or if you experience chronic or recurrent symptoms, then you may need to see a doctor about prescription medicines. In this case, you will need to consult with your doctor about which type of medication is best for you. There are several types of drugs that can help fight off infections including antibiotics and steroids.
Over the counter medicines are not the only form of treatment for bladder infections. They are just one option and often times, these are not effective.
Other treatments you may want to consider include pelvic pain relievers and even surgery. Sometimes, surgery is recommended after consulting with a doctor because it is a much stronger form of treatment that just using over the counter medications or over the counter pain medication alone.
Other pain relievers are non-steroidal like acetaminophen and ibuprofen and in rare cases, muscle relaxers. These pain killers can be used as a preventative measure to try to keep the muscles of the pelvic floor relaxed so that you do not feel the urge to urinate as often.
In the end, when it comes to dealing with bladder infections, prevention is usually better than a cure. So the best thing to do is to avoid contracting an infection in the first place. Try not to touch or otherwise cause irritation to your urinary opening as this can lead to a painful infection.
By making simple steps to prevent an infection, you can reduce your chances of getting one. Prevention is much better than having to deal with a long lasting or recurring infection.
Also, try to avoid going to places where there are a lot of people that may be passing the infection. One of the things that can increase the chances of a urinary tract infection include being around animals such as dogs or cats that have weak immune systems and therefore are more prone to contracting these infections.
Also avoid wearing loose fitting clothing, as these can easily trap moisture in the area. In this way, you can also make it easier for bacteria to enter the body and cause a UTI, thereby increasing your risk of having a urinary tract infection.
You may also want to consider trying natural remedies such as soaking a tampon in vinegar for a few hours and then inserting it into the vagina to kill off bacteria. Another tip that many people use to prevent UTI’s is to drink a glass of water before urinating, especially if you plan to have sexual intercourse.

Learning To Use A Potty Trainer
Potty training is the most difficult period in a child’s life. It is a significant milestone for children as it is an opportunity for them to begin life as a responsible member of society. Potty training can be frustrating for children at this age, but there are ways to help a child cope with the transition.
Potty training is not just about teaching your child how to go potty, it is also about teaching them social skills. Toilet training starts from when a child is young and is done by using a “toilet” that looks like a small bathtub. Potty training can vary greatly from culture to culture, and even among different demographics. Some cultures believe that the child should first be able to sit in the bathtub and have his/her bladder emptied before they can go potty.
In general potty training experiences are usually short, especially for younger children. As a parent, you want to make sure that your child gets everything out of the way early on so that your child will not feel frustrated later on. It is best to start potty training as soon as your child is old enough, but this may be a hard task since it is usually a slow process.
Another challenge is teaching a child how to hold their urine and stool for a longer time. Some cultures believe that the child should hold their urine until they are older than two. Some cultures actually train the child not to hold his/her urine until they are six months old. The child should be encouraged to hold his/her urine and stool for at least ten minutes after having its bladder emptied, even if that means that they will have to go outside to go potty.
In some countries, the child must be given an incentive for holding their urine and stool longer. Many parents use food or a toy to encourage holding his/her urine longer. Other parents encourage their child to hold his/her urine longer by letting them know how long they will have to wait before they are allowed to go potty. It is up to the parent to figure out the best reward or incentive to use for potty training and make sure that it does not lead to a lack of attention from the child.
There are also many parents who are hesitant to start potty training their child because they feel that they will not get the same attention from their child once the child has gone potty. This is not true. Most children who have started potty training have gotten the same amount of attention from their parents throughout their first few weeks and it is much easier to start potty training when you have already established a positive relationship with your child.
Another benefit to potty training is that the child can learn more about the world and other cultures when he/she starts. It helps a child learn that he/she is not the only person in the family. Potty training can be extremely beneficial to any child as it helps them learn what is acceptable behavior and what is not. They will be more aware of social etiquette and understand the importance of manners.
While some people believe that potty training is difficult, it is an important phase for children to undergo. Potty training is something that every child should go through, but parents need to remember that it is a process that will help children to grow into a healthy and independent adult.
It is very common for children to get frustrated when they do not start potty training right away. If a child has had an accident, they will be unhappy, but they can always use the potty to make up. It is best to show your child that they can get up after an accident, but it is also better to teach them to deal with accidents in the future. Children will grow up and learn that potty accidents are inevitable.
It is a good idea to try to get as much information as possible before deciding on a method of potty training your child. This way, you will have a better chance of making an informed decision on which method is right for your child. and for you. There are many books and websites on potty training, which can give you all kinds of tips and advice.
A potty trainer can also help you with potty training. A lot of these trainers are available online and can be a valuable resource.
