The Differences Between Formal Education and Informal Education
Education is the systematic process of fostering learning, the acquisition of academic knowledge, academic skills, attitudes, values, and behaviors, and social learning. Educational systems typically include teaching, practice, research, and guided learning. Schools are governed by governmental regulations that set standards and criteria for education. In education, it is considered the role of the school to disseminate knowledge in an effective and meaningful manner. The process of educating and training students involves the basic education like comprehension, grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, and understanding.
Community-based education system is developed by locally concerned teachers and community members working with the support of parents, other stakeholders, governmental agencies, and schools. They seek to build a culture of academic responsibility within a diverse group of peers. Public education is provided by teachers who receive formal certification as educators or are licensed at state levels.
Teachers form the major segment of workforce that contributes to overall education outcomes. A principal’s formal education can begin at kindergarten through high school. At the elementary school level, elementary school teachers instruct children in physical education, grammar, reading, writing, and teaching composition. Elementary school teachers also prepare students for higher education through professional training and completion of a certified teacher certification program.

What are hugs? Are they only for couples? Is hugging only romantic? Believe it or not, there are different types of hugs. Not only are there different kinds, but they also come in different colors, shades, and styles. Here are the different kinds of hugs:
The Ooh: This is known to be the first hug. It is between children and adults, usually inspired by an affectionate hug from someone they love. Ooh is often accompanied by an “Ooh” sound. This particular hug type is very cute, and kids love it! When holding hands with an adult, place your hand between his or her shoulder and the top of his or her back and then extend your hug. If both people are involved, this will become a symbol of unity – as if bringing two people together symbolizes love.
The Smile: This hug usually takes place when people are happy and even surprised. In this instance, both participants smile and feel happy about being together. To do this, place your lips on the other’s mouth, and then lean in close to each other. This will create a feeling of intimacy, security, and closeness between the two of you.
The Thrush: Do you know what truth is? Well, if not, you just met some very cool people. Simply put, thrush is an infection of the glands found on the tongue and inside the mouth. The Reflection: Hugs are very good at reflecting the emotions of both parties involved. Make sure to give your best friend or partner a big hug when they have achieved something great. We’re two months into the new year, and many of us are still staying at home. With restaurants still limiting in-person dining in some parts of the country, most of us are continuing to cook at home and looking to remake healthier versions of our favorite recipes.
In the face of a 24-hour culture where the traditional dayparts of breakfast, lunch, and dinner have faded, it’s no wonder eating and snacking habits have changed. However, consumers continue to look for ways to incorporate more protein into their meals and snacks.
Protein helps satiate your hunger, which can keep you from overeating. Ensuring you have enough protein in your diet also helps maintain the healthy muscle mass and the health of your skin, hair, and nails.
Looking to add more protein to your meals but don’t know where to start? Susan Bowerman, M.S., RD, CSSD, CSOWM, FAND – Sr. Director, Worldwide Nutrition Education, and Training, offers some simple and delicious ways to boost your protein intake.
Protein powder is a common ingredient in smoothies. But have you ever considered stirring protein powder into hot cereals, scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, or yogurt? You can also “power up” your baked goods by adding protein powder to your recipes for items like bran muffins, whole-grain pancakes, or banana bread. While baking with protein powder is not a new idea, a fun new option to try is the Protein Baked Goods Mix combined with Formula 1 Nutritional Shake Mix, a healthy go-to option to make high protein muffins, pancakes, waffles, donuts, and other items. If you like gourmet coffee and tea beverages, try making a “protein chai” blend vanilla protein powder into a smooth paste with a little water, then top off with hot tea and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Eggs are protein boosters. Adding a single egg or two egg whites contributes about 7 grams of protein to a dish. Beat eggs and drizzle into hot soup or try stirring some egg whites into oatmeal as it cooks – it will help thicken up the cereal but won’t change the flavor.
Milk and soy milk can replace other liquids called for in recipes to boost the protein content. Depending on the recipe, milk can often stand in for broth, juice, or wine in lots of dishes. Make your oatmeal with milk instead of water, and you’ll get an extra 7 to 10 grams of protein. If you use milk alternatives, such as almond or rice milk, check labels for nutrition content, as not all non-dairy milks are protein-rich.
Beans are delicious plant-based protein addition to soups, curries, and salads. Baking may be the last way you ever intended to use beans, but you can use pureed chickpeas, white beans, and black beans to replace some of the fat in recipes for baked goods.
Plain, nonfat yogurt adds a tangy protein boost to protein shakes, oatmeal, soups, sauces, and curries. If you’re adding to hot foods, stir in at the last minute to prevent it from curdling. Plain yogurt can also replace mayonnaise in tuna, chicken, or egg salads and can be used to replace some of the fat in baked goods. Even salad dressing can get a protein boost from yogurt – whisk plain nonfat yogurt with salt, pepper, garlic, herbs, and a drizzle of olive oil for a tangy dressing for your greens.
Chia Seeds make great additions to your baked goods by adding a boost of extra fiber and protein. You can also sprinkle them on top of salads or cooked veggies to get their nutritional benefits.
No matter what you choose to make at home, it’s important to remember that being open to trying new things and cooking healthy by adding color and variety doesn’t have to be boring.

How to CARE for Yourself in 2021
The past year was unlike any other. According to a recent survey, 53% of Americans found themselves making more unhealthy choices toward the end of the year in an effort to feel better about the holidays being so different from years past. And56% of respondents – put off making healthy choices through the holidays in order to start fresh in the new year. The same survey found that the top new year resolutions were exercising more (26%), making healthier food decisions (25%) and focusing on self-care (21%).
As we continue to find ourselves still spending a majority of time at home, the beginning of this brand-new year will likely feel different from those of the past. But the beginning of a new cycle can still be inspiring and there’s no better time than the present to start taking care of our minds and bodies.
To kickstart the new year in the best way possible, Susan Bowerman shares ways to C.A.R.E. for yourself in 2021:
C- Create smaller resolutions that are easier to achieve. Remember, a lifestyle change that leads to sustainable, lasting results takes time, so you need to celebrate the small accomplishments when you can. “Crash diets” and gym overload are not sustainable long term. For example, if your goal is to start running, don’t shoot for a marathon right away. Start with short jogs and challenge yourself by completing a 5K, 10K and so on. The incremental successes will build your physical strength, your endurance and confidence. Remember to celebrate your achievements along the way!
A- Adjust your recipes for healthier meals. This is an easy way to ensure you’re getting the right type of calories into your daily meals. Swap out bread or starchy items for more vegetables and aim to reduce the amount of fat or sugar in your meals. Try having fruit for dessert, switch to low fat dairy products, including plain yogurt to make sure you’re getting some probiotics in, and grill your meat instead of frying it—there are a so many ways to tweak your recipes to be just as delicious and more healthful for you and your family.
R- Remember your gut. When stress or anxiety strikes, your brain sends a signal to your gut – and the next thing you know, you’ve got a churning stomach. During times when we may be feeling stressed or have anxiety, consider trying to heal from the inside out. Improve your digestive health by eating plenty of fiber from colorful fruits and vegetables and whole grains, as these foods promote the growth of good bacteria in your gut. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Herbal tea or even just hot water with lemon are great options during these winter months. Fermented foods like — yogurt, pickled vegetables, and tempeh – are also great inclusions since they provide natural probiotics that support immune health by crowding out other bacteria that can potentially make you sick.
E- Exercise. In addition to making sure you’re eating well, remember that physical activity is one of the best self-care remedies. Exercise helps release endorphins to improve your mood, and also gets the blood flowing which is essential for our bodies to work at their optimal levels. If you’re not ready to adopt a full-blown workout routine, start small — go for a walk, take the stairs instead of the elevator, park your car farther from the door and walk to your destination.
