Day 3,932: Swelter
I think I’ve learned something: I need a day off each week. I planned to write all the way through the weekend today, and get another ten pages down—seemingly easier than it was going to be yesterday, given I didn’t have anything planned outside of the house today—but that went out the window pretty much as soon as I decided to walk the dogs first when I got up, rather than get a start on the writing for the day. That’s another thing I’ve learned: when the spoons are low and the fatigue is high,...

Day 3,931: Late!
Oh boy, it’s late.
I (almost) hit 200 pages on the manuscript today. Woohoo! Should be good for at least halfway done. We’ll see. Some fun POVs in this book. It’s a few characters I haven’t spent much time inside their heads to this point, and/or their brand new. So, it takes a little work here and there. They’re not as comfortable as some of the others, like Drake or Carrol, who I know like the back of my hand, now. But that’s the challenge you know? That’s what makes this book interesting, ...

Day 3,930: Oh You Will
Ten more pages. Boom! Happy about it. Action sequence today, which meant the words flowed pretty easily. I ended the chapter with a moment I’m not happy with. It’s not quite right. I’ll tweak it later.
Work was slower today, finally. Still decently busy, but not AS busy. Projects are wrapping up. Less balls in the air all at once will be nice.
Was supposed to podcast tonight with Josh, but he had some stuff come up last minute. Just as well; I’m pretty wiped. I went and got a bottle of win...

Day 3,929: Like
It’s already late, so this will be a short one but…
10 pages: done
Netflix work: done
Nap: yes! a baby one, but I did it.
Therapy: done.
Podcast entry: posted.
Joy assaulting me for kisses: she just tried to. After blog entry, babes.
Night night.

Day 3,928: Feel It
Man. Another long work day! But a good one. I still got my ten pages done, and I’m wrapping up two different projects at the same time. Early, actually, which is always nice.
Whew.
Watched some Slalom Canoe (which looked a lot to me like kayaking, but what do I know). Some team fencing. Saber fencing, which I didn’t realize was different from foil fencing, which is what I think most of us think of when we think of fencing.
Joy just interrupted this blog entry to attack my face with some...

Day 3,927: Crumb
Busy day again today! I was at it from 7am to 8:30 pm today, including all the writing. Work went late. Pages were done. I watched Simone Biles and the rest of the women’s team take gold; Liz and I got to do that together, which was really nice. Loving the Olympics this year, we are. And I know we’ll do the same for the winter olympics in two years. They look so nice on our big, beautiful TV.
Need to get a good night’s sleep. Night night.

Day 3,926: Pillowcase
Busy day today! Man. Busy day. But…I did it. I got my teeth cleaned AND took care of a surprise cavity. First one in a long time. I think I had another tiny random one like two years ago. It was another tiny one—20 minutes, they said, and they were right; in and out. Hardly any numbing. $75. Can’t complain about that, I suppose. Hygienist said my teeth were in good shape, too, just keep doing what I’m doing. I get tartar, but no plaque. I didn’t actually think about the difference between those ...

Day 3,925: Two
It was…a floaty anxiety kind of day. Not really sure why, it just was. I got stuff done. Pages, though not all of them. Edited the podcast. Got my hair cut (finally!). Watched some sports. Took a genuinely great nap. THAT was a highlight, for sure.
Rest. Then tomorrow back at it for realsies.

Day 3,924: Trials
I tried to get the pages done today, but it just wasn’t going to happen. Not with what we had going on, which was essentially an important phone call in the morning and a movie escapade in the middle of the day…and then I was still wiped from podcasting last night, so I needed a nap. That’s the whole day, right there.
I did write. Got a couple pages done in the morning. But, I just had to let it go. It happens. It’s why an every-day kind of writing goal truly needs to be a smaller one. Someth...
Day 3,923: Spare
Eventful day today. Helped Josh with some movie stuff. Recorded a podcast. Got my ten pages written. Got a flat in my car. Did all my netflix work. And hung out with Ashi and Avi for lunch (plus Joe and Madhuri).
A great day. And now it’s time for sleeps. Night night.
