Day 3,962: Pandas

I’ve been with my wife for twenty years, today. That’s including the time we spent dating. CRAZY RIGHT? Twenty years. It’s wild. So grateful for her. So grateful for the life we’ve built together.

It’s late, already. We just spend like half an hour just talking about the last twenty years, so it’s past bed time, but…it was a good day. A busy workday. Got my writing done, though. Ever closer to the end of this book.

Night night.

Day 3,961: Places

Fifteen pages today! Zonnkkkkkeeeddd…but yeah. I got them pages done. Just a couple more sequences one, only one of them a major one.

I did not get the reading and editing done, however. It took all I had to get the fifteen pages out. So…that’s okay. That’s another day added onto the end of this process. Not the end of the world. The biggest push is just getting the book written. Which I am SO CLOSE to finishing.

Man, that’s about all I have to share today. I took an epic nap. I’m very, v...

Day 3,960: 100 pre-K

I should hit juuuust about 100 thousand words tomorrow on the book. HOOOOOOMMMEEEE stretch.

I am wiped. Fifteen pages (that’s about 3,600 words, give or take), plus another 25 pages of reading/editing. Whew. Zapped. Zonked. Zilched. I do it again tomorrow, which should get me to that 100k mark. Always a landmark, that. 100 thousand words is just about the perfect length for a novel. Granted, all of the Glory books have been pretty heftily above that number so far, but this book won’t be. Not ...

Day 3,959: Romulus

We went and saw Alien: Romulus today — it was fun! It’s not perfect, but it is WAY better than the last, most-recent additions to the franchise, which is a welcome relief. It’s back (mostly) to haunted houses in space, and that, folks, is what I’m here for. I recommend it. Go see it, if you like spooky space movies. Nor is it all that intense. R-rated, for sure, but I’d actually say it was more fun than it was scary (or even disturbing).

We saw it with Liz and Ali. So good to see those two. G...

Day 3,958: Wont

Late! Time for bed…but it was a gooood Friday. Got my writing done. Scheduled myself out, actually, for the next week to get this book DONE. Gonna be a push, but I can do it. I’m so close.

Podcasting was great, we watched To Catch a Thief which is just about one of the most beautiful movies I’ve ever seen. The 50s had some dope photography, man. Really really amazing. And it was a fun caper, too.

But, it’s back to work tomorrow, so off to bed with me. Night night.

Day 3,957: Everest

Liz and I have a shared obsession with Everest docs. It’s fascinating to watch these people do such a dangerous thing. The footage is obviously amazing, but really for me it’s the psychological aspect of it. What is the type of person who does this? How do you see people literally dead and frozen to the rope line, unclip to get past them, and then continue on. Like, that was a person just a few hours ago and now they’re dead, doing exactly what you’re trying to do. That’s…wild. Just wild to me.

Day 3,956: To A T

Irvine is not LA. Just sayin. That’s the OC, and the south OC.

Coops is so much better today! Whew. Eye was open like normal today, no complaints, slept through the night last night, acting like his normal self. We definitely picked up on the injury a lot faster this time, so that’s good.

Got the sequence outlined today that I needed to, and it rocks, now. So. Happy about that. Back to the pages tomorrow! Excited. The end is in sight. Just gotta keep plugging away.

We started The West W...

Day 3,955: Spot

Making some anniversary weekend plans! I’m excited. Ten years this year. We’re gonna have a blast together.

Coops has a hurt eye again, poor bud. He woke us up in the middle of the night last night pacing around and just unable to settle down. Liz eventually went out with him to the living room and slept the rest of the night on the couch. Wasn’t sure what the issue was until morning when I went out, he looked up from the big puffy dog bed, and his right eye was closed and crusty. Luckily, th...

Day 3,954: Cache

Got all the writing done today, including the editing. Proud of myself. WIPED tho. Whew. Ready for this book to be done, which is precarious, because I need to make sure I follow through and finish it properly. Which…I will. I have to do some detail outlining tomorrow, actually. I’m going to try and get it all done tomorrow, but we’ll see. It’s a couple finale battles, and I want to make sure I do them justice. If it takes a couple days, so be it.

Whew. That’s about all I got for you tonight,...

Day 3,953: Bait

I posted thread bait today, and I have regrets.

See, here’s the thing: I stand by the “hot take,” which isn’t at all, really, given that a lot of people feel the same, but I framed it that way and it worked. Easily the most-seen and discussed post I’ve had on there in a long while. Which is, truly, depressing and that’s where I have regrets. It’s a stupid hot take to have, by the way, that Blade Runner isn’t a great movie, and by that I mean in the sense that really matters most: does it tell...
