Day 4,062: Late late late

Ooowheee. Writing this one at 2:30 in the morning because work went suuuuuuper late. Oof. But, it happens. Not very often, but it does. Almost done. About fifteen more minutes or so. Troubleshooting done, everything in a good place. I hope. One last thing I’m waiting for.

Good day. This will definitely blow my day tomorrow writing-wise, but that’s okay. I’ll recover. Got Coops’ new insurance sorted (hopefully). Things are good.

What’s my favorite cartoon?

Oh man! Liz and I were just talking about this today. It’s either Avatar: The Last Airbender or Batman: The Animated Series. Both of those hold up as adults, which is pretty crazy. Also still love the Disney renaissance…the Pixar stretch is, man, those movies might actually be my favorite for real, Monsters, Nemo, Incredibles, Up, Inside Out…I also love LOVE me some Miyazaki.

Day 4,060: Winning

What could I do less of?

Second-guessing. I think I err on the side of waiting and thinking for too long. It’s a double-edged sword, though, because being prepared and thinking things through is also my super-power. That’s why it’s not something I can just get rid of, you know? Finding the balance is where it’s at…and that’s hard. I err on the side of overthinking.

Day 4,059: Forward

So, Succession is, like, really good, isn’t it? Just finished the first season. It’s great. I told Liz we should watch it together, it’s that good. I’ll either rewatch the first season with her, or she can watch it on her own, and then we’ll watch the rest together. Miserable people. Psychopaths, even. Filthy rich. Struggling for power. It’s fun.

Day 4,058: Whammie

Do I ever see wild animals?

Yes! Just the other day, I was out in my hut writing in the evening, and two raccoons decided to hang out on the deck and just…watch me write. They started grooming each other, and playing with a stuffed animal toy, too, but mostly they were there to be close to where I was and just watch me. Now, these are not a pair of raccoons I have any sort of rapport with. Strangers, both ways. They just decided they wanted to chill within sight of me. So funny.

Day 4,057: Cackle

Watching Warriors play the Rockets right now, thumbing this on my phone watching on the couch. I want to see the end of the game, but I also want to go to bed on time, ha. We’ve had such a hard time closing games lately. Hopefully we can pull this one out. We’re up six. 2:20 left. No Steph, no Draymond. It’d be a huge win in that Houston is good and we’ve lost five in a row. We’ll see what happens.

Writing today was a dud. So. Frustrating. But…tomorrow, reset and back at it. Four hours tomorr...

Day 4,056: Puppy Cuts

Share five things I’m good at.

I’m good at meeting people. I’m sure it’s not 100-percent, and there definitely times I know I’ve gotten off on the wrong foot…but I’m usually pretty good at making a first impression.

I’m decent at DJing electronic dance music. I just played a set, in fact. Now, I’m not great at it, there are so many skills these days that I don’t have, but I can beat match (by ear! old school style), I can pick tracks that go well together, and I can blend them.

Day 4,055: Le Quick

Already bed time, so this one goes out quick:

Work: did it. Busy at first, then a slow day.

Painting: done! Except for these random spots where the tape pulled up paint and didn’t set a good edge. Ugh.

Writing: did it! Four whole ass hours. Not the most scenes, but not bad. I’m in a better place with the Smith stuff I’m planning out.

Wrexham: won! On a super late goal, too.

Warriors: lost. I’m officially worried about this team, now. The haters were right: we’re flawed. Gotta work...

Am I a morning person or a night person?

Naturally, I’ve always been a night person. Never so bad as staying up till 3 in the morning or having a hard time sleeping, but I’ve always been most creative at night, liked staying up, and REALLY loved sleeping in. Day 4,053: Fish Butt

So…we have the type of dogs that need their butt glands expressed every now and then. And by ‘expressed,’ I mean that they need to be squeezed empty, lol. It’s not as bad as it sounds. I put a glove on, step into the bathroom where its easily cleanable, then pinch right below the booty hole and squeeze. That’s it. Nothing crazy. Well, Joy needed that tonight. Right before bed!
